Enjoyable but to complex?

4/5

I enjoyed the scenario itself. Trying not to put out any spoilers!

The premise of the scenario was excellent! I loved the historical aspect from start to finish. No complaints there.

Possibly to many encounters? I don't know how many we participated in but I'm sure it was less than half, and I don't think we got to any of the optional encounters.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to running this at a small local Con in a few months. Hopefully I can streamline things and make it even better for my players.

PFS #6-97 - Siege of Serpents

4/5

An excellent close out for season 6!

As usual, a very busy scenario with little / no time to fool around. Despite that, I didn't feel quite as rushed as in prior specials. We accomplished everything in a relatively timely manor and only had one encounter cut off prematurely to move on to the next part of the scenario.

Overall I was very pleased!

Long fly ball!

I ran both parts I and II back to back at a convention a couple weeks ago.

Part II was my favorite though, and my players! Every one of them was on the edge of their seat during one particular scene that I will not spoil!

I even heard a couple people talking about it the next morning! So, great job on the authors part! If people are still talking about it the next day ya done good son!

Part one was the swing! Part two is the long fly ball! Lets hope part three will land out of the park!

A great start to a great series!

I ran this at a convention a couple weeks ago, both parts one and two concurrently.

As the GM, I enjoyed this for the interview mechanic at the beginning where the players must finesse their way through what could easily be a difficult social encounter (Depending on party makeup). The combats were varied, and though my party didn't find them to terribly difficult they did have a couple close calls.

My only quibble was the "delays" mechanic. Or more accurately, not the mechanic itself, but that there is nothing in the text during the first encounter to indicate the party should be in a hurry. Even one "delay" might have a significant impact later in the scenario! I ended up adding a bit of text to the commanders speech at the end to indicate "there was not a moment to waste" just to amp the players up a bit.

Once past that little bit, everything else fell into place well.

My first interactive

5/5

This is my first special and I have to say I had a great time!

Act 1 was equally divided between social and combat for my group (level 7-8)

Act 2 was also split pretty evenly between social and combat. Our combat drug on and on because we just couldn't get good rolls, but that's not the scenario's fault.

Act 3 was our group acting as medics. Perception rolls to find the wounded then healing/sending back to the city with demon encounters thrown in at the same time! We were blessed to have two clerics for the encounter which made us able to have one or two people searching for and healing injured defenders while the rest of the party beat down the demons! Being able to do both jobs at once made it a quite challenging and satisfying final battle / grind.

I played one of the clerics and spent the entire final battle fighting demons. Used most of my spell slots and over half of my channel energy (was holding some for channel revival if necessary) but we did well enough that no one was ever even in danger of dying. Honestly, I had forgotten we COULD retreat and then come back out! We also had "AID" from higher level tables we ending up not using, mostly, again, because we forgot it was even there to be used!

I had heard some not good things about the interactive specials, but this was a lot of fun! The city map that showed the effects of the battle raging throughout the city and outside the walls was an excellent addition to the experience, and the volunteers passing results in to computer central for tallying results was both fast and efficient. I will definitely do this again!

Excellent!

I played this at GenCon, Friday afternoon.

Good NPC interaction, moral quandaries, combat... Yeah, I had a good time.

My Barbarian kind of ruined the GM's day when he Critted the strongest baddie in the very beginning of the final battle, but I sure had a good time! :)

I'm excited to run this one for my players at home!

Is there a 6th star?

Loved this Scenario! Played at GenCon, Thursday night.

Lots to do for all players, both the action oriented and the socially oriented. I only played the new season five scenarios at GenCon, and this one is the best by far!

Had an outstanding GM who made the NPC's come alive! Very well written, and might I say (Buffs fingernails on his shirt) VERY well played! :)

I can't wait to GM this for my local group!

Excellent!

This product does exactly what it's supposed to. I've been playing society for a year now and I still reference this document nearly every session, both as a GM and player. If you're interested in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, start here!
