Biography: Bård is a proud man from a savage land. Born in the Land of Linnorm Kings, Bård is the fourth born, and the fourth son in his family, who live as part of a warrior tribe near the border of Irrisen. His tribe made a habit of raiding other settlements near the border, as well as fighting off the occasional Jadwiga counter-attack.
Bård grew up with a warriors heart, and despite being the youngest of four, and all his brothers also very competent warriors, Bård grew large quickly, and by the time he was old enough to lift an axe, he had easily proven to his brothers that he was not to be trifled with.
Bård proved more than his worth in the tribe, and by age 14 was arranged to wed the chieftain's daughter, a woman as beautiful as she was skilled and strong. The only thing he needed to do was to collect a trophy from a Jadwiga raiding party, proof and testament to his skill and power. It took him several years before he had the chance, helping defend his tribe's village from another Jadwiga counter-attack. After the fight he chopped off an Ice Troll's head, and presented it to his chieftain as proof of his right to wed the chieftain's daughter. At the same time, he chose to claim the Troll's hammer as his own.
Several months later, Bård was successfully wed to the chieftain's daughter, who proved to be a perfect match for him. For a few more years, Bård served as one of his tribes top warriors, but come his 19th spring, a party of Pathfinders arrived in his tribe's village for rest. They told stories of distant lands, amazing riches, and glorious adventures. This intrigued Bård, and before the party departed the village, he requested permission from his chieftain and his own wife to travel south with the Pathfinders and partake in these adventures, and potentially bring back riches and glory in the name of his tribe. They agreed, the chieftain, enthusiastically, his wife, somewhat reluctantly. Bård promised his wife that once he returned, he would stay with her until the end of their lives, for better, or for worse.
So Bård accompanied the Pathfinders to Absolam, and began his training. After a crash course in how to be a Pathfinder, Bård was sent to Cassomir, the port town of Taldor, to help oversee a situation that had occurred there.
