Austin is every bit the weathered cowboy, he stands just shy of 6' feet and has the look of one who spends a lot of time on the road. Despite this he keeps himself well groomed and visits the barbershop whenever he's in town to fix up his brown hair and beard. Austin wears a sturdy blue work shirt, trousers, duster, and Stetson; and always has his six-shooter at his hip and his rifle on his back. He leaves his shotgun strapped to his saddle within easy reach.
Personality:
Austin is a gentleman through and through; he always helps a lady in trouble, always keeps his word, and never wears his hat indoors. Despite always being on the best manners Austin isn't stupid, he grew up in the wild west and has learned it's lesson's well, as such he follows a personal code; always Keep your promises, but never make promises you can't keep; always lend a hand, but never turn your back; always be polite, but never be complacent.
While polite, Austin can also be quite stern. He doesn't tolerate fools and isn't afraid to speak up when someone is making a nuisance of themselves, he has thrown many a drunken idiot out of a tavern for starting fights or going after the women there. this sometimes gets him in trouble as some folks don't like it when others are to nosy.
Background:
Austin grew up in a small town north of Little Rock Arkansas. Austin's father was a blacksmith and taught him the importance of hard work, while his mother was a school teacher and made sure he was educated and learned manners and to be a gentleman; both parents instilled their faith in the lord with their son as well. Austins early years were peaceful and he grew up without much worry, eventually Austin married his childhood sweetheart Luise and the young pair moved away from home and to small town in Texas. Once the new couple had settled into their new home Austin found himself a job as the towns Ddeputy while Luise started helping out at the local church/school. Austin and his wife lived a happy, if somewhat ordinary, life for a few years, during which Luise took over as the head school teacher. Not long after Luise's promotion the towns sheriff got wind of a band of thieves and murders that had set up camp in the area, and he, Austin, and a few men from town set out to clear them out or run them off.
When the Austin and the others finally found the outlaws they quickly realized that they had underestimated them, the group was larger than anyone had believed and was organized. In no time at all the small party was spotted by a lookout and the short fight that ensued left only Austin alive, barely. When he woke up Austin found himself in a patch of brush, hidden by some rocks. As he stood he found the body of the sheriff not ten feet away and still clutching his prized winchester rifle. After saying a quick prayer for the deseased, Austin picked up the sheriff's winchester and started heading back to the town.
When Austin finally made it back it was only to find the town in the last stages of burning to the ground and the body of his wife in the church still holding her favorite book, one about the adventures of one Doc Holiday.
After burying his wife, and anyone else he could find, Austin set out on horseback for the next town, intending to find the men who murderd his wife and friends. Austin spent his evenings reading the book he had found with his wife overtime he began to see hidden messages within the text, and after trying some of what the messages talked about, Austin took his first few steps along the path of the hexslinger.
Over the next few years Austin began putting his skills towards bounty hunting in hopes that he would eventually run accross the men who killed his wife all while slowly moving west towards Arizonain hopes of learning more about his strange new skills from Doc Holliday himself. Austin happened to find one of his bounties as he was in the midst of robbing the passenger of a carrige going west, the passenger in question happened to be one Jackson Greenfield. After saving him, Jackson invited Austin to travel with him to the next town on his way west, as it happened they were traveling the same direction so Austin decided to accompany him and they continued to travel together for several weeks.
More recently Austin has been making his way back east to visit his parents after spending about a year learning from Holliday himself. Once he recieved the letter he quickly changed course to meet up with him, afterall, its only right to help a friend when they ask.
