I don't think a plan that could cause us to potentially be fighting all of the lions and the harpies at the very same time is necessarily a good idea, though we've fought crazier odds and won before. Picking off the enchanted lions and seeing what the harpies do after we've dealt with their pest problem is probably the safest approach, especially if we get protection from evil going in case they do try to double-cross us.

It's the age-old debate of "is killing the young of an Evil species an Evil act because you are killing a child, or is it a non-Evil act because they'll just grow up to be Evil?" which is, ultimately, entirely subjective. For what it's worth, since harpies are sapient, I'd argue exploding / burning an entire nest of harpy chicks to death is evil, particularly since at the current point we're only assuming the harpies are evil because Harpies Are Evil.

But to be clear, I have no qualms on an OOC level with Bedlam going through with his plan. Aurora won't be happy with him, though.

Assuming the affected are standing close enough to each other (touch range spell), Aurora could use Magical Epiphany on her next turn to prep Communal Protection from Evil as Tragershen suggested and then be able to cast it on the turn after.

Silence could also work but we'd have to get the enchanted into the silence without getting the dire lions into it.

As for expensive material components... 100gp of powdered silver, and 2k gp of diamond dust.

If my math is right, she still manages to have just shy of 6k gp left over.

So if anybody has any suggestions for further gear or consumables to grab, or needs a loan... cleric is apparently loaded. Otherwise I'll probably just get a +2 shield instead of a +1 shield.

I've been busier than expected trying to corral a feral kitten that showed up in the local feral colony in the last few days and make sure it's okay. It's very small, very cute, and has adorable little toe socks.

Ahem.

As for Aurora's shopping list, I'm thinking the following, depending on availability:
+1 Heavy Wooden Shield — 1,157gp // To replace her current non-mwk heavy wooden shield.
+1 Ring of Protection — 2,000gp
Ring of the Faithful Dead — 1,000gp
Belt of Giant Strength +2 — 4,000gp
Scroll of Breath of Life x2 — 1,125gp each, 2,250gp total // It's cheaper than raise dead...
Scroll of Lesser Restoration x3 — 150gp each, 450gp total

And on the more mundane side, a spring-loaded scroll case (5gp)

I also need to go through some spells and see what has expensive material components Aurora should buy while in Riddleport, and tally those up later.

Aurora looks half ready to faint as the Sarenites argue and nitpick amongst themselves and interrogate the corpse of Tragershen. When all is resolved, she looks only mildly relieved.

My other group takes approach #3, but my other group tends to just have one or two gear-heavy builds and a bunch of spellcasters who shrug and sit on piles of gold because there's nothing they want to buy. Either #1 or #3 works for me.

Aurora blinks in surprise at the sudden change in demeanor of the wizard — then spews a stream of shocked profanity more befitting the backroom of a seedy bar as he turns his attentions to desecrating the temple, eyes wide and jaw slack. She looks to Anzath in shocked distress at the half-drow's query, "I don't know!"

As Tragershen is subdued she brings a hand up to rest over her chest, curled into a fist against the metal of her breastplate. She shakes her head, "I don't know, I don't know... he was fine. He was fine." She swallows. "I don't know what happened. I don't... we just found a library in the old... the old outpost, and it detailed what happened with the-- the plague, and the temple, and the demon."

She leans onto one foot, trying to get a better look at the felled wizard, "Is he okay?"
