Guys, it's with a heavy heart I have to do this but..... I have to drop from the current game/DM role. I thought I could handle running/attending the adventure if it was premade and familiar. But, I just can't swing the ride to Manchester and the prep-time needed. My life is a bit full at the moment with the new baby, work, school, and a side project we've been working on. If we can find a place a bit closer to Nashua I would be able to continue on as a player, but I don't think I can run a game all the way up in Manchester. I'm terribly sorry guys. I hope you all continue on and play something even if I'm not able to attend. If we want to try and work something out, let's discuss it here.
No game for me today. There's too much going on at work for me to get out on time tonight. If you guys want to meet up and possibly play something you are more than welcome to. We should also discuss the possibility of moving the game to the greater Nashua area if possible. I believe most of us live in the Nashua area. We talked about the Comic store, but I think they wanted money. Anyone have a house or apartment that could host the lot of us?
Hey everyone! Yes indeed, I am feeling much better. I seem to have gotten over the plague. My son, Asher, only got mildly sick from it as well and is doing just fine now. On to the game! I'll be able to make it this evening and we can start the adventure at the Swallowtail Festival. Get ready for fun, games, and mass carnage, er umm..... I'll be showing up around 6pm or so. Looking forward to starting the game up. See everyone tonight.
I'm somewhat hesitant about tonight. I've seem to caught a plague and am coughing, sneezing, and feel a bit under the weather. My son also seems to have caught the sniffle as well. Stay tuned to see if tonight is going to happen. Everyone is welcome to meet up and play something if I'm not able to make it/run. I'll post as soon as I know for sure if I can drag myself to the game.
I'm curious how Paizo handles collaboration in the office as well as with writers and staff that work outside of the office. Do you use a set of commercial collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft OneNote, EverNote, Google Docs? A few of us are at the ground breaking level of creating a small publishing company to produce some material and we are considering how best to collaborate with one another. Sharing files, version control, file syncing, tasks, notes, commenting and conversations, these are all things that we are wanting in a suite of tools. How does Paizo handle such things? Thanks for any helpful tips!
I found this: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/combat-traits/dueling-cloak-adept Dueling Cloak Adept
Benefits: While wearing a cloak and using an Aldori dueling sword, you gain a +2 trait bonus on Bluff checks made to feint. Additionally, every time you successfully feint while wearing a cloak, you gain a +1 dodge bonus to your Armor Class until your next turn.
That is correct! We are playing some pregenerated characters I just created. They are some of the important and lesser important NPCs of Sandpoint. We are rolling the campaign back 5 years to the Recent Unpleasantness for a quick prologue session to get everyone connected to the adventure. This will give everyone a little bit of playtime in Sandpoint and familiarize themselves with some of the players in town. This will help everyone come up with intertwined backstories. I'll see everyone tonight. I'll likely show up close to 6pm. Feel free to show up a little before or just a little after. How many total players do we have? I made 5 pregens (which the 15 point buy worked fine, heh). I'm hoping I have enough characters. I might make one more just to be safe.
I hope everyone is excited for Tuesday! Keep working on your characters if you still need to. But if your character is not 100% complete by Tuesday, don't worry. We'll be running a little one night prequel for the campaign and you'll be playing as some of Sandpoint's NPCs for the first night. I'm hoping this will give everyone a deeper connection to the town and its inhabitants and history. It should be exciting.
It might have been mentioned before but.... I was trying to add the following to a creature's attacks torch -2 (1d2+1 plus 1 fire) It doesn't add the fire. I then looked up other creatures in the Beastiary that have fire. Take the Fire Giant. He is supposed to deal additional fire damage as well. When rolling these attacks, it does not add the extra damage.
Great to see everyone posting some character ideas and even stats. I'm sorry I haven't posted up until now. I went ahead and made a quick website where we can post our info, journals, keep track of things, etc. Here's the link: https://sites.google.com/site/riseoftherunelordsnh/ I made a quick poster (very cheesy) for the upcoming Swallowtail Festival. I'll send out an email with the information as well, I believe some people are not using the paizo site.
I've been trying to write and update all day, stupid work getting in the way. I, and my friend Mike, are still very interested in meeting up with everyone. However, we cannot be over there this evening. We should be all set to meet up next Tuesday night, the 25th, for a meet up and maybe some gaming.
What about having someone co-GM and not be a player? Monsters could be divided into two groups, one for each GM to control. This would speed up combat as well as remove one additional player controlled character. It would freshen up NPCs as well. Having two people to provide personalities and voice for NPCs would really liven up the roleplaying. Just another idea. It also makes it possible to split the party of PCs at certain points if needed.
Alrighty Jim. I certainly don't want to intrude on your game/gaming group as well. I hope it didn't come across as that. =) For everyone interested in meeting, should we hold off another week or go ahead and meet up on this Tuesday? Jim, did you have to talk to Double Midnight Comics before you started showing up and playing? Or did it sort of just evolve? I'm wondering if I should reach out and send an email to the store asking if it's okay for us to meet up there on Tuesday before we all land there. Especially if the intention is to possibly start playing at the store in the near future.
Wow. I would never run a game for 9 people. My advice, split the group in 2. That would make 2 groups of 4 player, which is nice. If you are deadset on running with 9 players. You can almost double the creatures in every encounter. With special NPCs you'd have to take a different approach. Combat is going to take forever. Especially if everyone is unfamiliar with the rules. Good luck though. Having 10 people who want to play a game sounds like a problem I'd be willing to have. =)
Maybe we can all meet up at Double Midnight Comics some night soon for a meet 'n' greet type thing. It's always nice to meet more RPers in the area. I have a friend who would be interested in a meetup as well. From there, I'm sure we can better arrange some gaming groups/times/arrangements. Any interest? If so, when is everyone free? I'm available most weekday evenings except Wednesdays for the next few weeks.
