Kind, Intelligent, Cunning, Stubborn, Resourceful, Driven, Joyous, Responsible; Ulfen are thought to be many things. Loud, boisterous, arrogant, fearless, braggarts who won't stop talking until you've heard their tale or bought them an ale. If this is the case with most Ulfen, and it probably isn't, then Ashren is an exception. Not much of one mind you. When he's of the mind this warrior can be as loud and joyous as any Ulfen, throwing his cares to the wind and drinking the night away. But he is a warrior who understands the careful line one must walk to remain safe. One too many times has an enemy tried to attack him when he is weak. If he drinks now, he drinks less then the rest of the room, taking two cups of water for every mug of ale. If he sings and dances, perhaps he is just a little more reserved. And if he is telling tales it is rarely with his own stories, or with names and places changed if it is. The truth is out there already. He feels a bit odd bragging about it when there's yet more work to be done. Which basically sums him up in a lot of ways. Before he became a master of the blade, before he went through his trials, Ashren was the son of a farmer and his outland wife. Responsibility had been instilled in him from an early age and he had learned that some things just need to be done, and people will see that you do a good job whether you brag about it or not. There is more to him then that of course. His time with a wily old wizard allowed him to explore avenues of study he would have never considered before. Ashren is cunning and intelligent, his eyes sparkling with wit and a sharp mind. He doesn't feel the need to lord this fact over anyone either. Much like his strength, he believes people will see or they won't, and that he simply must do his task. Along with this sense of responsibility, Ashren has developed a bit of kindness as well. Many warriors are hardened by the horrors of their battle but perhaps in this the Ulfen have found a secret to keeping their humanity. The stories, the drink, the camaraderie and the rivalry all serve to give a man or woman a chance to see what they were really fighting for. Ashren has taken these lessons to heart and never lets himself forget that there are people that depend on him whenever he draws his blade. But this sense of responsibility carries with it a second edge. Thanks to his past, Ashren is intimately familiar with the dangers of the world. It is in his nature to hold to his beliefs and to never deny his responsibility, but sometimes it means he takes on blame for what was out of his control. This can lead the typically intelligent man to make decisions that, while good for others, could ruin him. The worst is when he becomes driven, almost obsessed, with hunting down a particularly vile villain or creature. He would forgoe sleep and food if he didn't need them and often does so anyway in such a state.

Ht: 6'4 " Wt: 280 lbs Age: 30 Hair: Black Eyes: Blue Skin: Pale If his oddly Southern name wasn't enough to make it clear that he was not the entirely of Ulfen blood, his dark hair and shorter build would certainly mark him as such by many. That is not to say he is short by any means, standing at a good 6'4. But for every man he towers over in these harsh, cold lands there are another ten that stand over him. But he does not let this deter him, he does not let others look down upon him. For a man of his stature in a land of giants, both figurative and real, he stands tall and proud with his back straight. Even his slimmer build does not seem to deter him from walking with authority. Perhaps he knows that his own Ulfen blood, diluted maybe, gives him strength and reason to be proud. He clearly has some. His skin is far to pale and his eyes to blue and deep for him to be anything but one of the men of the north. Even his features are sharper and more solid. Perhaps it his armor, a set of black plate mail with golden borders. It is light as a feather, to him at least, and made from one of the finest craftsman of the lands for his personal use. It could make a King seem a pauper, in truth, and the ragged cloth hanging down in front of his legs seems only to add to it rather then take away from the fine armor by making him appear more savage. Maybe it is his cloak. It is a fine cloak made of cloth soft, but thick, perfect for the cold that these lands face. Though it is ragged on the end, it only adds to the mans stature, or so it seems, for surely it and its owner have seen battle. Maybe it is even his sword, three fine blades and one of which hangs on his hip as his favorite. Many would assume so seeing him from a distance, but all it takes is a look into those eyes of his to know that isn't the case. There is something to them. A strength, a breadth of experience, a cunning intellect, that makes most man understand the person before them is more then meets the eye. Even without the height and the mass that many Ulfen warriors carry, it is clear he is a dangerous man, and perhaps would be dangerous without all the fancy toys he carries. It is a rare sort of individual that can make you fear the holder of the blade rather then the blade itself. Beneath the armor, though, there is more. Beneath the mask he wears there is more. The man is not that old yet and his lack of grey hair makes that evident for most, even if it is hard to discern how old an Ulfen is by their facial features. But despite this fact he has earned a great many scars over the years. One in particular is spread nearly across his entire back. A horrid burn that looks like it should have been lethal. Getting too close to fire often brings back the pained memory, distracting the warrior. Even something as simple as a camp fire seems to discomfort him a little. That is not the only unusual trait though. His elbows and knees have a series of thick white scales that are rough an coarse to the touch. They appear to be apart of his body too, making one wonder how this came about. Intelligent, Cunning, Resourceful, Learned, Proud, Vain, Prim, Determined, Cautious, Obsessive, Dubious, Authoritive, Proper, Caluculating; Eladria is many things. She is smart and cunning. She is learned beyond the measure of many, maybe even her father. She is Determined and relentless, but never lets her Pride get the better of her judgement when it comes to danger. But she can be vain and prim too. She carries with her a magic item holey devoted to swapping out her clothes and cleaning them with little effort. That is the kind of length she'll go too to keep herself looking Proper and Respectable. Thanks to her fathers seeming neglect, Eladria had the example of a court woman to raise her. This is a bit different from the southern lands and their almost dainty nobility. Her aunt was hard and relentless and passed these traits down to her niece, leaving the girl feeling like she had no choice but to look the part of an important person if she wanted to be taken seriously. Thankfully her injuries tend to lie outside socialization. She might be one to chat up nobles for information or manipulate them with a few key pieces of her own info, but her true passion lies in libraries and tomes and ruins. When she is not somewhere she has to act important, she'll let her mind drift to different texts as she tries to ponder on some theory or idea. She'll hotly deny any such thing of course. Day dreaming is not what a proper noble does. Underneath her desire for respect and her determination to learn all that one can learn, there is a softer side that rarely sees the light of day... unless it is inspiring even harsher acts. Eladria likes doing good. It is one of the reasons she originally joined up with Ashren. She likes helping people, and thanks to her own personal experience can sympathize with many different plights. But her methods for doing so could be considered... questionable. Eladria has no trouble with torture, intimidation, or even summoning and binding demons and devils to fight against a foe. She reasons that no weapon should be discarded simply for the sake of morality, not when it could save a life. She knows what its like to be terrified, in pain, waiting to die and wishing she could. Eladria will do anything in her honestly immense power to see no innocent ever has to be put through that again. And to hell with those that would cause such pain. Her familiar, a Silvanshee named spot, cars for her deeply but continues to try to this day to change her harsher methods. Spot understands that her mistress, Eladria, is simply doing what she thinks is right. But Spot refuses to let her fall past that line, refuses to let her simply give in to these morally questionable acts. The Silvanshee believes the greater good should not come at the sacrifice of what is good for Eladria, body, mind and soul. Description:
Ht: 6'2 " Wt: 190 lbs Age: 23 Hair: Pale Blonde/Brown Eyes: Blue Skin: Pale Eladria bears the stature of a full Ulfen blooded human. Standing at 6'2, she matches or even stands over even some men within the cold and harsh lands. Her body his thin, but she has broad shoulders and hard muscles built for stamina and speed. She is always wearing clean clothing, no matter how bloody or massive a battle she had just participated in was. Her hair is neatly kept in a short bun atop her head. As a wielder of great arcane power it would not do for even a single hair to fall out of place and distract her from the complex weaving that she makes. She still carries a great deal of youth to her features. Though a fully grown woman, Eladria is still only 23, and the harsh lines that would stain her features from too much frowning or smiling are not noticeable yet and won't be for many years. Her hair is a light sandy blonde color that in the wrong lighting can look almost brown. She hates it, but has yet to find a spell that would permanently change it to the more typically pale yellow that many women have this far north. Her clothing is the best that money can buy. Though its not entirely practical, her fur coat is often covering a complex and wonderful weave of cloth formed into a stylish robe. Despite this she moves easily and with a grace many would not associate with someone of her physical stature. She carries no weapons, but has a rod in a holster on one hip and what appears to be a branch of some sort on the other. Despite not having a blade of any sort, or even a club, Eladria definitely acts as if she was the most dangerous in the room. Kind, Gernous, Cautious, Cowardly, Brave; Spot, despite the simple name, is anything but a simple house cat. She is a Silvanshee, a celestial being with the kindest of hearts and the bravest of souls... if there is a place to hide of course. She bonded with an apprentice wizard by the name of Eladria many years ago, a woman who had been trying to summon, of all things, an imp to serve her! Thankfully the imp wanted nothing to do with the girl... after Spot ate him at least. And the cat took the creatures place. Perhaps a little dishonest to simply barge into the spell that bound their souls like that, but Spot thought it was for a good cause. At first Eladria was not happy at all, but slowly she came to like the creature, and understood that at least with Spot she had a friend she could always trust. The cat name stuck though, perhaps as a joke between the two. Eladria long ago learned the beings true name and carries it close to her heart. Spot will not fight unless Eladrias life is on the life. She detests violence against anything bigger then her, largely because, even with the power of a wizard bonded to her, she is fairly frail. She prefers using her ungodly skill of disappearing and her incredibly fast flying to stay out of site and watch over her mistress from afar, giving advanced warning of any danger that might be coming.
