Arezni spent the earliest years he can remember an urchin, struggling to survive on the streets of Korvosa. After he helped a young woman evade the guards chasing her (a little bit of "Hide here," and "She went there,") she introduced him to the Scarzni family. They brought him with them when they skipped town, and he grew up on the road, moving between Varisian families and learning a bit from the seers and loremasters of his new family along with some tricks from the Scarzni families he spent time with as well.

Recently, a gang he was working with was hit badly, and he made off on his own to make his way to the nearest safehouse he knew, looking for Jubrayl Vhiski in Sandpoint.
