Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I pull out an arrow taking aim as I continue my war song. I look for a target that is uninjured. I aim steadily and focus. I charge my shot Arcane Strike and release my arrow. Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 +1 More If within 30 feet. For:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Damage +1 if within 30 feet.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I enter the fort happy to see it still in one piece. I let the pristiest do the talking. I am still a bit out of sorts with the battle. I killed something. I have never killed something before. It is a strange feeling. When Oleg greets us and asks about his friends I lower my head. "We found their bodies and the bodies of the mules on the way here. I am sorry Oleg."
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I want to apologize for my recent lack of posting. I am having trouble getting behind my character lately and it has been hindering my motivation to post. I have plenty of time, it's just I find myself not in the mood for this character. I would ask if maybe I could introduce a new character I have prepared. I would hate to leave the game as I like the party, I like the GM, and I love the kingmaker campaign. However, if making a new character would prove to be an inconvenience then I will kindly bow out.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I step forward. "Maybe they can understand Orc? In some stories orcs push these little guys around and give them orders and such. Do you think that might be the case here? Oh and don't ask how I know orc, it is a rather embarrassing story." I wait for the others to bind the goblins.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
Won't be able to post till tomorrow afternoon so I'm taking my turn now so I won't hold things up. I am annoyed at the miss. However, I have never shot at a living thing before. Good thing there only goblins. I take a deep breath and lose another arrow.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
----Summery of previous events---- I will perform at the local hall of the fort. I enjoy my night and cherish all the luxuries it offers. I send us off with a song and simply spend the day reciting tales, our own included and writing in my journal. At the night I volunteer to do first or third watch. The next day I awaken commenting about how grateful I am to have a blanket for the night. I am in a much better mood. Better than I have been at any point on the road past. ----At the Goblins---- At the sight of the grotesque scene I let out a shriek. "Eee! Little monsters! Goblins! They've killed those poor people." I glare. "You little beasts! How dare you hurt innocent travelers! Prepare for battle!"
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
Sorry guys, I fell ill today and have not had the stamina to post all day. Now I don't have the stamina to read up on everything that has happened. Can someone give me a summery and I can try and get a post in tomorrow. I'm going to bed in a bit so I can't do it tonight. Thanks
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I smile. Listening to the others. I look at Damen. "Well my good man, I had not prepared for this journey as well as I had hoped. I sorely overlooked many obstacles and I have slowly been resolving each new obstacle and today I hope to overcome another. I am in need of a blanket and a bed roll for the road. If that is my payment, then it will be enough." I nod to the fort. "It is nice fort. Very poetic. I will put it in my book." I pull out my Journal and start writing.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
In the morning I groan and pull out my journal. "The nights are miserable for the unprepared adventurer, It is always best to over prepare." I pause and look at my jewelry. I sigh. I scribble some more. "Important to note. Jewelry and fine clothes are of little value in the harshness of the wilds." I log a few more complaints and some advice before closing the book and getting breakfast. After breakfast and I freshen with prestidigitation and a cure light wounds spell to remove the damage the cold left. "Phew that is better." ----On the road---- When we come up to the fort I do my best to make myself presentable. I step forward. In a musical tone I call out to the man. "Oh sorry to interuh-hupt, but we are humble travelers chartered to scout the Stolen Lands my good sir. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Beautiful, Dignified, and Arrogant, archer, and singer, and now brave and weathered Areanna Tresbellen Delante. A pleasure to meet you."
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I am bundled fiercly in my noble robes huddled dangerously close to the fire. My teeth chattering can be heard all over camp as can my complaining. "Oh why in the name of the gods is it so cold out here! Why have I not thought to pack even a single lousy blanket! I was not properly prepared for this journey at all! At all! I forget the one detail in tales that gets so little attention! The travelers sometimes sleep out in the elements! Good graces! Note to self, When writing the epic tale, be sure and include many elaborate verses on how despairingly miserable it is for the heroes to have to sleep outside! Great heroes should be recognized for EVERY act of bravery and strength! Even against minor evils such as weather!" I continue to ramble and complain and freeze. Fort save for grins and giggles:1d20 ⇒ 7 I wanted to fail, helps develop the character :)
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
As we travel and I bundle up. It takes me a while to get used to my new beast. "My goodness what a new feeling. A horse! This is so exciting! I cannot wait to begin. I only wish our good friend Nubs was with us. We have a job to do. Now, time to start this epic tale." As we ride out I attempt to write on my map making kit. However, the ride proves to be difficult. I put away my kit and simply sing a song as I ride along. "As I travel far from kinships.
After I finish my song I hum occasionally admiring the scenery. I seem more cheerful now that I am not walking so much.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I nod at the agreement. "Very well, I shall assist in the cleaning and cover the difference." I join Kent is presdidizing the stables. --Later-- I nod to the stable master. "Well, we're done. Here is the rest of what we owe." I had over the difference so long as it isn't more than 40gp. That's all I have. "Thank you again good sir. If you'd like, I plan on performing in the inn, feel free to come and listen." I head to the inn with a pep in my step. "Now I have a horse, the next problem is to learn how to ride it." I say cheerily. "Now that I am starting to get used to it, this life is getting more exciting by the day." --In the Inn-- I nod to the keeper and take my position. I prepare my lute and set up to perform. I clear my throat and strum my lute. "Can you hear the calling of the raving wind and water?
Who can cross over such raving wind and water?
But in one morning we'll see the sun
Can you hear the calling of the raving wind and water?
Perform Sing:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I approach the stableman. "Please good sir. We are travalers in need of steeds and you seem to have more than you can handle. I hope we can help each other out in this. I offer you forty gold coins for a light steed. What say you my good man?" Diplomacy check:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I'll be back to a normal posting tomorrow, again with school just starting I have been running a lot of errands and have been quite tired. It'll be steady tomorrow. ----After the Dance---- I gracefully accept the generous donations from the patrons. It is how I make a living after all. Bidding the others good night I retire. ----The next day---- I eat my porridge and I speak well of last night. It would also be at this time that I would address Kent. I look at him with a regretful expression. "I spoke out of place the other day criticizing your use of magic. It is not my place to tell others how to do things, especially when you were only trying to help. I have a lot to get used to on this journey and it already seems to be affecting my judgement. I apologize for my behavior." I bow respectfully to Kent. ----Upon finding I cannot buy a horse---- In response to Brigid I chuckle. "Sure the gods gave us two legs but they also gave us beasts of burden too." I let out a mellow dramatic sigh. "Alas, it seems as though I am meant to be a wandering minstrel "walking" from town to town. I suppose there are worse fates." ----On the road---- Though I took a heavy noble coat, it still isn't quite enough to keep out the cold. "Brrr, walking and freezing. Had I known a head of time journeying would be so difficult, I would have come better prepared." When Ulryk offers to let someone right in his cart I bounce at the opportunity. "Oh would you? I would love to at least rest a bit so I do not hold things up, very much appreciate." I climb in. ----At the boy---- I nod to Ulryk. "I believe we should go with the lad. Best I can tell he is a crier for the inn he mentions and thus his wages come from those he brings in." I climb off the cart and hand the boy a silver. "Here you go, now would you be so kind as to lead us to the inn."
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I put my nose up at the wizard. "I am familiar with prestidigitation. I will use it for my cloths but for my skin I enjoy doing the work and the luxurious soothing feel of warm water and soap against my soft and delicate features. The relaxation and experience far exceeds the capabilities of magic. Ultimately magic is a crutch in many cases and while I may know some, I will only use it when I see it as necessary or may prove otherwise useful. For example, I will buy a horse to carry me instead of finding a spell to do so. It has more aesthetic value and looks good in a book. “ I look sternly at the wizard. ”Don’t rely too heavily on magic alone. Versatility is always a good way to go.” I clear my throat.
That seems like I’ve it seen before and the distant memory I recall just a little I try to follow the path I walked with you before on my way
On such a day when you just call my name
No matter what day it is, don’t forget that gentle feelings will visit
Tell me why, if I’m with you, even if we’re separated, we can understand each other
A shooting shiny star is spreading
on such a day when you just call my name
A shooting shiny star is spreading
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
Huge post, gotta make up for lost time. Was at school and Game night yesterday so I had little time too post. Segmented post abound! ----Before starting---- I give the others a nod. "This will indeed be a glorious journey and I will start my logging of it at once!" I pull out my journal and begin to write. "An epic tale starts with a single step." ----On the road to the Nivakta’s Crossing---- Only half a day into the journey I am walking along already seeming to be very worn out. "Oh my feet are killing me. Why oh why did I not purchase a steed for this trip. I never gave it any thought as most brave adventurers in tales walked. However.....walking is harder than it seems! Oh next chance we have I must acquire a steed of I won't be able to stand by journey's end!" I walk along very miserably, complaining dramatically at times. ----At the Crossing Inn---- I greet the inn with open arms. "Civilization! Beds! Warm Food! Most importantly A BATH!" I race to the inn, my feet seemingly healed. Upon arrival. "Oh innkeeper." I announce with in a pleasant musical tone. May I have your rates for food and a room. I have been craving a quality bed and food for almost two days now and I have coin to spend." When the keeper explains his rates I then ask him. "I am in need of a steed, do you have one with a comfortable saddle? I would be willing to negotiate if you have one." I give a quick look to the others. "Conservation of coin is definitely a favorable prospect. Who would wish to room with me?" I await a response. Abbreviated Notes for Party
She would complain about any thing new such as trail rations, sleeping out doors, not wearing proper travel attire, her shoes, her cloths, bathing, lack of a bedroll. Best you can all tell, she wasn't quite prepared for all the elements of "roughing it" She did make a note of everything she didn't buy and would need to get. Just some character development I missed out of delivering in more detail but the other character's would be aware of this.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
I giggle at the gnomes. "I like your manner of speech. It has it's own unique rhythm and a rugged charm to it." I let out a sigh and an expression of disappointment. "Alas, they do not teach singers how to shoot a bow." I perk up, place my hands on my hips and jut my chest proudly. "But I am no ordinary singer mind you. I am the well read, self sufficient Areanna Tesbellen Delante. After reading books of countless adventures," I turn and look at Ulryk. "I have read of the bandits you speak of. In tales like those, the brave, heroic, and manly warriors often stood between bandits and the more fragile members of their party." My eyes sparkle with a romantic glint as I recant the tales I have read. "These brave fellows willing to risk their lives in the defense of the defenseless. If is all so romantic." I the place my hands on my cheeks as I blush like some lovestruck school girl. "To have someone so strong willing to lay down their life for you. It is absolutely romantic and a story I wish to live." I then straighten up. Proudly and arrogantly I add "But I, the great Areanna Tesbellen Delante will not make my hero do all the work, nor will I simply cower like some helpless little girl! For that is the reason I took up the bow. Ten years ago I couldn't even hold it right but through persistence and perserverance, I can now it any stationary target with ease! I will not be a burden on our brave men-at-arms, but a excellent support, this I promise on both the honors of house Orlavsky and house Delante, I will be a valuable member of this party." I take a bow and then look about with a vibrant grin as though expecting some kind of standing ovation.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
As Lurking pointed out, if it is skills we need, I can easily adapt to that with future levels. I get 9 skill points a level and am good with most things aside from wisdom based skills, our ranger ought to be able and pick up wisdom based skills I believe. I was thinking of splashing a level or two of ranger myself but if down the road we are in desperate need of a rogue, I'd considered levels in Rogue sniper archetype myself. Just putting that out there.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
To miss Orlovsky I nod. "Family head Orlovsky was like my second father. I have performed many times for our lord and studied his lessons well. I enjoyed the years I have spent with your family. It was Lord Orlovsky that taught me the proper way to deal with people. I believe I have seen you before also, at your younger age moreover. We elves age slower than you humans. I believe I was present when you were born." I smile at the amusing gnome. Pulling out my bow I state with confidence. "I have spent a good decade perfecting my craft at archery. Also, I know a good spell or too, and finally, I have my inspirational singing skills to help motivate others to greater deeds and accomplishments. I am not one for getting, ugh, into a brawl with bandits. I will support others who do and that is all. I am hear to keep records and write songs to secure our legacy. And when you need a people person, I am the obvious choice am I not?" At the newcomer I smile delightfully. "See, here is our...ugh...skull smasher...ew just the thought makes me a trifle queezy." I then look to the warrior. "As I had stated to the others, I am the beautiful, dignified, and arrogant, singer and archer extraordaire, the sensational Areanna Tresbellen Delante. I am the chronicler of our expedition and you, my lucky fellow, are the man who gets to ensure my safety on this venture. It is an honor to meet you and I look forward of singing songs of your glorified bravery to the masses in the near future."
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
The most unlikely of character's present, a tall slender elven woman with dark skin, beaded black hair and lovely features, adorned in revealing sashes, plenty of jewelry and a fine long heavy coat. She carries a lute and a bow and a satchel. She signs the papers excitably and turns to the rest of you with a big grin. I am the elf. Areanna Delante, I am now standing before my new companions about to embark on a grand quest to the Stolen Lands. I can barely contain myself. I betray a couple of giddy bounces as I prepare to address my new comrades. I clear my throat. "Greetings my fellows. For those of you who do not recognize me, I am the ever famous, the beautiful, dignified, and arrogant, singer and archer extraordinaire, Areanna Tesbellen Delante. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." I give my most exquisite bow before them. At the question of survive I give a delightful smile. "I have plenty of skills with survival. Why, my song and music has been my bread and butter ever since I have left the Orlovsky's service. A not to mention my silver tongue. Why, with these special gifts of mine, survival has been nothing less than a piece of cake." I start with a song. "Through the town and on yonder hills, my singing was the best way to pay all my bills. For a voice of the angels, the gods given me. I take the fruits of labor, from yon labor tree." I pull out a small journal and make a quick note of the lyrics I just sang. "Must remember these for later." I close my book and look to the others. "Now, I have shared my identity, though some of you may have already heard of me. Now, dear friends, what names have the gods graced you with?" I eagerly await your responses. Be warned, Areanna has wisdom 8 and I intend to play that out completely hehe. Oh and she will have this behavior a LOT.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
How's my Profile. I figure the wedding I preformed at was in Rustav and from their I got myself recruited into the expedition to keep logs on the journey and do charts. Also to do some entertainment as well. All at Orlovsky's recommendation of course. That's about how I get placed. Is there anything else you need flushed out.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
*Yawn* phew, I love sleeping till noon hehe. Anyways. Areanna Delante reporting for Duty! This is my second attempt at Kingmaker so I am hoping we can get more than two pages into the first book. Anyways, I made my character in Herolab, I am unsure how to send the profile. Everything should be in my profile though. I've got a lot of free time for a while so I can post a lot. This character has under gone three evolutions, each for a Kingmaker campaign. I like the finished results a lot but if you still see improvement opportunities to be made, I'll do my best to make use of your opinion and wishes. Again thanks for letting me join. Here's wishing us a long and fruitful campaign.
"Sweet Mother of Shelyn! Seven members? Just be prepared to step up the encounters some cause groups that big will mow stuff over. On the other hand, gives some of us the chance to take such matters a little less seriously and add more character. Should be an interesting adventure. I raise my glass to a fruitful and glorious expedition. Welcome aboard everyone else and thanks especially for having me. I can't wait to write our epic tale and sing songs of our bravery. Cheers!" I raise my glass to toast the lucky explorers.
"I wish you wisdom and clarity in your decision Sir Daniel Stewart. The wise coordinator of the expedition. I hope for the opportunity to write songs and tell tales of the expedition from a personal perspective." I'm a suck up an I ain't ashamed to say it. Regardless, good luck to everyone. There's a lot of good choices here and as much as I'd love to get back to being a player again, I won't feel bad if I'm not picked.
"Oh this calls for a song!" *clears throat* *Strums the lute* "We Drink to our youth. To days come and gone. For the Kingmaker recruitment is just about done." 8Strum the lute* "We'll clean out the Stolen lands and restore what we own. With our blood and our steel we will take back our home." *Another Strum* "So rise great settlers for a kingdom you bring. For the day of your journey we will drink and we'll sing." *strum Strum* "We are the children of Brevoy and we fight all our lives. And when the gods beckon everyone of us dies." *Strum* "But this land is ours and we'll see it wiped clean. From the scourge that has sullied our hopes and our dreams." And a bow.
Areanna Delante is a character I made for Kingmaker a ways back. Game ended before it ever got going. Only got one battle and the DM said it wasn't in the original book so, I'm still in the dark as to what happens or was suppose to happen. I would like to have another shot at this AP and since my freetime has opened considerably and all other games I was in have died out, I was hoping for a new go. All the specs and other details are in the profile, I can update the character in anyway you see necessary otherwise she is built for Kingmaker. Thanks for considering. If I need to drop the archetype due to it not being core material, then I'm okay with that, just let me know.
Female Elf Bard(Arcane Duelist) lvl 1
Areanna is happy with the 70gp worth of pay. She finds a nice quiet place to sit down and log the adventure. "Today we set an ambush for bandits and won with the greatest of ease. We are truly the bane of bandits this day. Now Vishoon is interrogating the wreches to get whatever info he can. Once he is finished, we will ride forth and deliver Brevoy justic."
"We have a interesting number of unusal companions together on this grand quest. When stories are told of great undertakings one often hears of brave warriors like Ser Bregan, well at least they look like Ser Bregan. I think I will start with him." "First Companion. Ser Bregan Stone. At first we all presumed he was our leader as he was one of the original surviving members of the expedition crew. Strangely, the brave knight does not seem to enjoy his role. I find this surprising as he is perfect for the job. He is charming looking and wears shiny armor and has a very authoritative voice. However, he seems to lack confidence and is not very assertive. Two qualities that I believe a leader should have. He needs to go around and act dignified and in charge. A little arrogance would be perfect for him. Maybe I should offer him some advise. For now I will keep watching him." "Second Companion. Ravens. I can't seem to figure this guy out. He is very quiet but he keeps going on about Luck the Hero horse. Horses are useful for doing labor but I have never heard of one being a hero. That's just silly. Ravens seems to be the most melancholy member of the team. Also a bit single minded at times. It will be interesting to see if he develops further on this quest but I wont hold my breath." "Valeska. Our Third Companion. Such a sweet girl with a really annoying raven. I can't help but get the feeling that it controls her to an extent. She likes fortune telling and seems to be very considerate. It is nice to have another girl on the team. I hope that she and I can become good friends." "Fourth Companion, a dwarf named Holber...something. His name is really difficult to write. He is a remarkably charming fellow for a dwarf. Not very social, typical of a dwarf but at least he is not as grumy or as greedy as other members of his kind. He is very intelligent. I often love listening to him talk math. It fascinates me that a dwarf can be so smart. Sometimes I try and write down what he says to possibly write a song but he just talks so fast. He's like a chipmunk on coffee. But he is funny all the same. I believe him to be a great asset to the teams. "Our fifth and my personal favorite. The every vigil and stoic Vishoon. I love Vishoon. He is a good person who has a good heart. I fear that because of his appearance few people could see the beauty in him. I know that he has a heart of gold but I can also tell he has a dark and sad past. I hope that one day he may trust me enough to share it with me. I also think he would make a great leader for our group. He knows how to get things done and he has authority in his voice. I will continue to support Vishoon on this endeavor. This group wouldn't be the same without him." "Final Companion, me. The Beautiful, Dignified, Arrogant, Archer and Singer extraordinaire, Areanna Delante am one of the greatest assets in this party. I have beauty, intellect, and a marvelous voice. I am also good at archery. I am definitely the perfect pick for this group. For Sure." "This concludes my analysis of our companions at this point in our adventure. I hope to update the entries as we continue as people always reveal more as you spend time with them. They even change from time to time. I look forward to traveling with everyone here. This is so exciting, I can hardly wait for what comes next." Areanna closes the book and waits for orders from the expedition captain.

Okay that makes sense. I appreciate a reasonable explanation to the system. I am not opposed to it just confused but when you put it that way it makes. Thank again for explaining. Most people consider my questions insults but I just wanted to know. Now that is decided, I presume our HD counts as 2 for the purpose of taking skills.
