About Arcavic

Description:
124 yrs old; 6'1"; 127 lb; light grey skin; silver hair, white eyes; tall and slender

Appearance: clothes and equipment are basic, with clear signs of hard use easily visible, but sturdy and loose enough to move easily; all are long sleeved and pants, only hands and head are commonly not covered

Personality: independent; has little interest in using magic himself, but makes exceptions for particularly useful items, and his interest in the gods is only slightly higher; very much the strong silent type, though is he capable of talking well enough when the need arises; usually polite, though rarely overly friendly; seems quite content living the life of a drifting mercenary

Background:
His mother was captured by slavers raiding the Xend'rik coast, and was already pregnant with him already or got pregnant as part of the rough treatment that went along with the capture; his inherent lack of magic and his unusually light skin tone made people suspect the latter, but no one really knows. Either way, she died in childbirth a slave in the city of Sharn, and passed on that condition to her son, who passed from owner to owner, both feared and disdained at the same time.

Eventually, he came to be owned by the owner of a prize fighter ring, and was made to fight. In order to try to break Arcavic of his remaining pride, he was given the last name Giantslayer and gave him traditional drow weapons to mock his native culture; to their chagrin, the plan didn't work as it simply made Arcavic more stubborn and rebellious. Proving to be too difficult to fully control, Arcavic was sold off to some rich adventurers looking for a guard; when said adventurers proved to have more money than brains and got themselves killed in a dungeon crawl, Arcavic escaped death, and with no one left
claiming ownership over him, he was a free man.

Since that time, almost half a human's life time ago (around 30 to 40 years), he's drifted around Khorvaire, taking odd jobs he can find as a guard or mercenary, acquiring a bit of reputation as someone who knows what he's doing; the details of his past have been all but forgotten and he does nothing to refresh people's memories, though he still treats slavers and similar ilk with great disdain.
