Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Sadly, we are outside of my area of expertise. So okay. What do you fight with? I suddenly realize that I don't know anything about you beyond the horns and the poetry."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Ah. I can't say I like the idea of using a dragonborn...pleasure implement. I do not understand the concept at all."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri sighs, "Aren't cocktails something you want to drink?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri whispers back, "It's both! This guy could teleport us where we need to go if he was good enough to do what he did to me. The fact that I get to hurt him and...possibly do unto him as he did unto me...that's just a bonus."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri glares at the door. Obviously, she's considering how she wants to do this.

She whispers to the people with her, "...I really don't want to risk hurting the working girl. I say we wait ten minutes, the room will clear, then we go in."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri manages a tiny smile.

"Only once, Shoso, and I was extremely drunk, and had a good time, and well... I'd definitely had fun. NOT worth the embarrassment, however."

She opens the door for the room of "Tassles", tapping the hilt of her blade gently.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri starts off toward the room of "Tassles" with a spring in her step, cracking her knuckles, with an expression somewhere between murderous and fueled with dread.

She says, "He hangs out here, and they can't stand him... if he did anything ELSE to me while I was sleeping, I swear by all that's holy I cannot be held responsible by any court for my actions."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri winks at Madame Fisk.

"What can I say, I like it kinky."

She pauses before she walks through the door.

"And Shoso, I fear you'll join us before too long: very few lean on the fourth wall as hard as you do without serving a greater destiny. This I have learned in my travels..."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

As they walk Anri gives Rothel a quick aside:

"I'm doing you a favor buddy. This isn't the last time you'll have to deal with the baser side of mere mortals. Better you take a little ribbing from me and the Tiefling in a safe environment, so you know how to deal with it when... well, too late, we've hit the brothel."

Anri cracks her knuckles, content to let Shoso do the talking for now.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri quips, "Expose you? He hardly knows you."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"As for me, I'm more of a Wanderer. The Adventuring thing is just a side benefit... and welcome back to the party, Rothel."

Anri takes a moment to look Shoso up and down.

"I can show you how to kick someone in the ear, but are you that flexible?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

I have that trained! :D But in case you'd like a roll...

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27

or 30 passive. Take your pick.

"Uh huh. ... I think we're going to get along just fine. Trust me, I'm a lot more fun when I'm not running around trying to find someone who controlled my mind and sent me flying into a city of undead to murder people. Take me to this guy, that I might introduce my boots to his face."

She holds out the three gold coins in her palm...and then closes her hand before Shoso could try to reach for them.

"But you don't get the gold until we actually find the guy. Unless anyone else has other ideas."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Shoso should actually say what her name is at some point. :P other than that, Anri wants to find that wizard. Who else has something that needs doing? :D

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri gives Shoso a pointed look: "I'm not paying anyone who won't even give me her name."

To the others, she says: "Although...Anyone who wants to help me, I don't mind having."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri gives the newcomer a polite nod.

"Call me Anri, I'm a wandering monk, seeking enlightenment and peace. And if you'll all introduce yourselves, and the young lady with the horns introduces me to the man who drugged me, I can go introduce him to the ancient secrets of Tae Kwan Leep. It brings 'enlightenment' and 'peace' to all those that encounter it, after all."

She seems to be dead serious.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Now, Anri gives Shoso her attention.

"Oh? Where can I find him? Anyone who has that level of talent with teleportation is of great interest to my group, and anyone who decided to do...everything that may have been done, is of interest to my fist."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

(AND BACK ONLINE! :D)

"Red. Leather. Boots. You will know MY boots very well in a moment, if you cannot give me more details than that."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Sorry I've been out recently; Hurricane Sandy kicked my teeth in. I'm going to be a little inconsistent until at least Friday.

Anri raises one eyebrow at at the bard, and then turns her attention back to the sailors. She continues to be threatening:

"Who paid you. Why did they want me sent there. And how did you send me there? And could you use such power to get...I don't know, to Sigil?"

She draws her knife, and begins lazily twirling it in her off-hand, resting one hand on the table as she leans forward.

"I don't know the musician here, but I do know that I've learned the hard-wrought wisdom of ancient masters...and it tells me that you know what I need to learn. So pass on this knowledge. Please. Before I lose my temper and forget that you'd need a working jaw to tell me anything."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri has no time for music. Only payback.

"Boot-to-the-head."

Anri's leg lashes out at the swaggering sailor.

Melee Basic: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (10) + 23 = 33; 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

if it hits, she uses Flurry of Blows (thanks to Internalize the Basic Kata). That's +9 damage, and she'll slide him 2 squares to stand amongst his comrades if possible.

"I'll have an explanation, gentlemen. Or I'll have your heads."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"I'm surrounded by big, brave adventurers who survived a city of undead, and none of them have the balls to enter a Freeport dive. What is the world coming to?"

Anri deftly stalks her way amongst the drunken brawlers, seeking one particular group of sailors...

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Rothel, stay behind me, try to keep up, watch for punches."

Anri is used to sidestepping around a bar of drunkards. And she has a score to settle.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri takes a moment to consider this.

"Yes! Well...maybe? They were talking about getting to Sigil when they spiked my drink, possibly did terrible things to me, and then somehow sicked me on you guys in the middle of a damn crypt city. Seeing as however they did that probably involved potent transportation magic ...Most likely! And I would get to boot someone in the head. WE ALL WIN!"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Would you mind if we all visited a certain bar? I have some...'friends', I would like to see. If they're still in town, as I said elsewhere...I have some technique to introduce them to."

Anri is cracking her knuckles, twitching slightly. She so desperately wants her payback.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri flips into the portal, ready for anything. After all, now she gets to find those sailors and have a bit of payback.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Welcome back! Also: For a full show of the technique in action, go here :D

"Well, they're very simple really...step one is that they annoy you. Step two is secret technique: Boot-to-da-head!"

If you blink, you miss it, as her foot strikes out at an invisible target, and just as quickly returns to her side.

"I might be willing to teach it, IF you have someone whose inner balance is capable of wielding such a powerful technique."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Oh yeaaaah! I was drunk and hearing stories about Sigil in Freeport when I got dropped on you guys! ...if I find those sailors, I'm going to instruct them on the ancient secrets of my sensei, and his dread Tai Kwan Leep technique. It is meant only to be used against those who've performed extremely annoying misdeeds."

Anri cracks her knuckles at the thought of it.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

These things happen. :( ready!

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Oh! Sorry Rev, I should have checked the OOC board. I thought you were back in the clear. XD

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

So...who are we waiting on for purchases? ^^;;;

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Oh yes. Most definitely. Anri's going to trade out her old-fashioned Fluid Ki Focus (15 GP)/Plain Jane +4 Magic Dagger (22,500 GP), for a Fluid Ki Focus (30 GP)/+4 Ki Weapon Dagger, (85,000 GP). If there is more money left in our Pool after other people have made their purchases, she may get other items she's considering. That and, trading in the Staff of Storms (62,500 GP) and her current Stormwalker's Cloak +3 (12,500 GP) for a Stormwalker's CLoak +4 (125,000 GP). This brings her total usage of Party wealth up to 112,515. Any objections to my expenditures?

Anri spins the Staff of Storms in a well-practiced, but basic routine. After explaining briefly how she came to find herself in this mess, with asides here and there to the shopkeeper about what she wants, she comes to:

"...Well, as you can see, I know my way around a fight. In any case, yeah, the staff is quite nice. But it's just not my style. I'm more of a dagger-swift-as-the-wind kind of girl. So! Do you have something I can use?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Fun! What've they got in the way of powerful daggers?

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Damn skippy it was. I wasn't as much of a fan of the followup: The will reading I mean. The first one though, with the Tai Kwan Leep sensei? AMAZING!

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

I intend to introduce it to the ancient and secret art of Tai Kwan Leep. >:)

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri shakes her head.

"Nah. I'll stick to mine for now. I haven't even had the chance to use it. Besides which, I think I'm the only one who'd really get a great deal of use out of mine. So! Lets go reintroduce ourselves to a gargoyle?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

If we've got it, we could always use "put them to sleep and wail on it until it dies" as a backup plan.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Okay, so we have to get it out of our way, one way or the other. Has anyone, since leveling, gotten anything that could crack it's shell?

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

We're all awfully quiet these days. :( Well, the trick with the gargoyle is that if we know where it is, we might be able to just run like the dickens to get past it...assuming we can make the acrobatics checks. Anri can. Who in the party would need someone to carry them to pull it off?

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

+1 for Extended Rest. Doesn't matter where, just somewhere safe.

Anri looks at Ruinblade hopefully, "...you know? Maybe we can bring her back some day? I've seen mighty servants of deities do it with less to work with than a magic sword."

She sounds more like she's trying to convince herself than anyone else. She absently picks up the new staff, and starts spinning it, running through an old combat form with an oddly blank expression.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri likes the Cloak, but is willing to negotiate.

Anri also looks at the cloak.

"Admittedly, it looks a little more defensible than mine. But I think mine has better destructive force. It might help me, it might not...what do you all think?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

So long!

"...Oh."

Anri just stares.

"Oh nuts. What do we do?"

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Swords are clumsy weapons. It's all yours. Not going to lie, the staff looks more my speed, but I'm really more fond of small blades, so somebody else can take that as well."

Anri takes another look amongst the Alcoves as she speaks. After all, scholars sometimes keep a stash nearby.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Anri has quickly recovered from the realization that she is out of wine, and is now trying to make the best of things.

She is now searching the alcoves for anything that might be interesting, shiny, or otherwise out of the ordinary.

She says as she does, "You know, you never know what you might find in these kinds of places. I found a duck in an old castle dungeon once. Well, okay, one of my partners during that expedition picked it up and...well, we don't talk about what happened to Horace. The point being: you find odd things in places like these."

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

After some thinking, I went with Three Winds Kick for Anri this level. She's Centered Breath, and is a Master of the Four Winds, so I think it makes a lot of sense. :D

Anri sits down, and closes her eyes.

"...all of this started because I looking for some fun and a bottle of rum. I don't know about all of you, but I'm not sure if I should quit drinking forever, or if the first thing I should do if we find civilization again is take a bottle, a cute guy, and a room."

She tears through her Haversack for a moment, and shakes her head.

"And I'm out of wine."

She looks a little like she's going to cry.

It's hard to find good alcohol in a dungeon.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"I don't know about all of you...but I think I need to find a nice, pillow shaped rock to pass out on."

Anri wipes the sweat off her brow.

"I hate tombs. So very, very much."

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

All of the damage and HP healed evens out to a current total of 84...and I finally don't have to keep track of that Temp HP anymore! But she only has one healing surge left.

With Moghadam stuck between Akemi and Anri, it seems like time to kick things up a notch, Anri reasons.

She says, "You know, I always save this one for special occasions."

And she darts forward, her fingers striking out like snakes at Moghadam's forehead.

Twilight Touch: (Dex vs. Reflex) (If success, target is blinded until the end of Anri's next turn. If failure, he still takes half damage.) (Do I NEED to blind him when he's already blinded? Yes. Because I want it to last just a little bit longer...until after Anri's next turn anyway.)

1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 20 + 2 = 39
It's about time!

Anri's fingers strike true, disrupting the flow of Moggy's energy, blinding him for longer than before!

3d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 4, 2) + 10 = 22

And here's the additional radiant damage + 10 from his Radiant Vulnerability.

1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Centered Flurry of blows automatically hits as well, adding +7 damage to her total. She slides Moggy up against the wall. That's 42 total: life, the universe, and everything baby!

Anri breathes out softly at the end of this, her feet shifting slightly.

"I am at peace, Moggy. And my peace is your end."

Stance of the Still Sword: (Minor Action) Until the stance ends, enemies take a -2 penalty to attack rolls against Anri.

And now, Anri's saves and her ongoing damage.

-20 HP!
1d20 ⇒ 14
Ongoing damage ends.

1d20 ⇒ 1
Well, the vulnerability's going to stick around a little longer.

Seeing as Anri has nowhere to move right now, I guess she's not going to use her move action.

Anri Vitals:
HP: 64/100, Healing Surges: 1/8, AC: 34, 36 vs. Moghadam, (All Enemies take a further -2 penalty to attacks against Anri until stance ends), Fort: 25, Ref: 30, Will: 31

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Worthy?! HAH! Compared to the sublime craft of my Kung Fu, you're worth nothing!"

Anri's sidestep, empowered by her Five Storms technique, slides her to the other side of Moghadam. Once more, she attempts to crush him with her Dragon's Tail technique!

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

Apparently, her Kung Fu no good here.

This is about the point in which, if we were playing at a table, I'd retire my current D20, and declare that it had failed me for the last time.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Apologies everybody, I was in the land of no-internet for a day or so because of connection issues. Back in action!

Rothel's Awesome Powers have made Anri's HP rise to 83! Not bloodied anymore.

2d10 ⇒ (9, 6) = 15

Ow. Pain. Down to 68. Still not bloodied anymore.

Save vs. Daze: 1d20 ⇒ 7

No dice. Still dazed.

Anri lurches a bit, but still manages to strike at Moggy at a distance, the range of her acrobatic strikes turned incredibly long with her deadly Steel Wind technique!

Steel Wind: (Dex vs. Reflex) (Close Blast 2) (Enemies Only)
1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 20 + 2 = 28

Call it a guess that this attack is a miss.

Anri Vitals:
HP: 83/100 +6 Temp, AC: 34, Fort: 25, Ref: 30, Will: 31

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Rothel might need to heal me fast if this doesn't hit.

Anri says, "Right. I'm through running, I AIM TO MISBEHAVE!"

She feels the distinct desire to be wearing a long brown coat. It passes, and so does she. She vanishes, reappearing behind Moghadam.

Arc of the Flashing Storm, Movement technique, Anri teleports her speed.

Anri's body crackles with electricity, and it all coalesces into her arm as she thrusts her open palm hard into Moggy's chest.

Arc of the Flashing Storm, Attack, Dex vs. Reflex.
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23
2d10 + 10 ⇒ (7, 8) + 10 = 25

And she misses. Badly. But she refuses to give up!

Spending an Action Point. Attacking with FURIOUS BULL! Attack is Dex vs. Fort.

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 6) + 10 = 17

She tries to gather the strength of the bull for a barrage of destruction. And then blinks suddenly. It's not there. Her inner strength has failed her.

She looks up at Moghadam, and quietly whispers: "Uh oh."

Yeah. Somebody use my position to flank him. And heal me if you can. The dice have decided to hate my guts. ;___;

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

Sorry. I usually put Number Current/Number max in my HP bar, but I forgot last time. I'm at 53 (+6 temp on top of that) of 100. So not technically blooded anymore, but still at around half a tank.

Female Human Monk/Master of the Four Winds 17

"Lisbarr, what are you talking about?"

Anri Current Status:
HP: 53 +6 Temp (No Longer Bloodied), Surges: 3/8, AC: 34, Fort: 25, Ref: 30, Will: 31
