Anna Korvosk is 20 years old, highly intelligent and skillful, but with little presence. Her knowledge of things like diplomacy is purely academic; in theory, she knows how to bring people around to her perspective, but her own fear makes her more likely to step aside and let others do the talking. Nevertheless, get to know her and she will never shut up, appreciating discussions of philosophy and history.
She has blue eyes, long brown hair often worn in intricate braids, and always carries an amulet of sorts that her teacher gave her when she turned 18, a fragment of meteoric iron tied to a string around her neck. Anna is an insomniac, though she can usually keep it from affecting her performance.

Traits: Rostlander, Pragmatic Activator
Anna is clever, perceptive, and able, but behind a simple smile there is a lot of fear and trepidation; when she was thirteen years old, she was rescued from an abusive home life by a dwarven alchemist named Torel Kenning, a stranger in town who was the first to show any real kindness to her. He took her as his apprentice, and they returned to his home, a village in the Rostland.
Anna grew up being taught by her father that her place in the world was to be meek and subservient, that there was an order to the world where some were inherently superior to others and that was that; he struck her, telling her it was her fault if she got hurt, but if she tried to dodge a strike he would hit even harder. When Kenning first tried to confront Anna's father, he put on a face of repentance only to turn around and nearly kill Anna once Kenning was out of earshot. Kenning impressed upon Anna his own philosophy, that while order was ultimately preferable to chaos, one must also remember that people are flawed, and one must act according to their conscience. "Just because it's always been that way, doesn't mean it's right."
After seven years as Kenning's apprentice, learning academics and alchemy, Anna heard about the expedition into the Stolen Lands, gathered up what coin she had earned working as a lamplighter in town, and went to pay Kenning and his wife for seven years worth of lodging. Kenning had never really asked for much, other than she help him with his work a day each week. He rebuffed her attempt to pay him, told her to go buy some better armor, and, only half joking, asked that whatever kingdom she helps found, that they allow dwarves to live there.
