Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Before Andwell follows Tarvinda back into the temple, he turns to the group.

When we first entered these doors, we were students in training. As we enter anew, let all know us as Kassens' protectors.

He stands straight and bold. Trying to choke back his fear for the others and for himself.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Yes. Yes. Fix this we will!

What? Wait, wait. Us?

Andwell contemplates how he has ended up suddenly in the position to fight an undead hoard, when moments ago he was playing a traditional game to please his elders.

Can we all just leave, and seal up the exit? That sounds safe. Yes, very safe. And an easy solution to the undead hoard.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Oh goodness goodness goodness.

This is no longer a test is it.

Sir. Is there anyone else, um, did, uh. Any other survivors?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Inside the room as in from an yet unseen area of wall, celling or floor, or INSIDE the room, as in invisible creature or similar?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell studies the walls, celling and floor for any signs of where the bolts may be firing from.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

What? What! Wait. Wait.

He adresses the man in the cell.
Are you part of the test? Are you a tester? Are you the test? hmmm. Dear 'o dear.

When the crossbow bolt flies buy he hits the deck.
Frick! What is this madness!

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

So many options. Choices, yes, choices.

Let see if Xeros lever can unlock this door first. That would mean I locked it myself. ooops.

If not, I'll apply my craft to the lock.
disable device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

If it's still locked after all that, Andwell humbly steps to the side and gestures to the door for Tarvinda, then plugs his ears for the paladins thunder of destruction.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

I got it all warmed up for ya Xeros. Let me know what ya see.

Dem be some purdy rolls!

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Hearing the clicks, but seeing no effects.
Well. That was, um. Enlightening.

He moves onward, checking for the next trap as he closes the distance to the moaning sound.

Detect traps 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Hey everybody! I found a lever. Hold still a moment.
This can't possibly do anything bad.

Three. Two. One.

Flip the lever.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

ooooh. A switch. I wonder what it does, I does wonder.

Andwell pops his monocle over his right eye and takes a gander.

Perception to determine what the switch "switches". Also, if it currently in the on or off mode if applicable. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Oooooh. Pit trap.
He pause to look into the hole.
Pit trap with pillows? Strange I say. Strange.
Thanks for the hand up, Tarvinda.

Can I skitter around the edge of the pit to reach the other side so I can keep exploring in the same direction?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Ayeeee

Reflex 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Oh my! Oh my! The wailing sounds human. Perhaps someone needs help. We must go. Must go!

Andwell starts to move cautiously deeper into the crypt towards the sound of the cries. He nervously glances over his shoulder to assure his companions are following, them begins making observations for traps, bangs and booms as he travels.

perception and other checks as needed.
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8 (+1 is for traps only)
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8 (+1 is for traps only)
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 = 27 (+1 is for traps only)

Damn! Two nat 1's followed by a nat 20.

Xeros wrote:
"Maybe thats your gift?"

*CHORTLE*

After the amusing retort from Xeros, Andwell tries to concentrate on the wailing sound.

perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Yes yes.

Andwell breaks out of his daydreaming and rushes to Tarvinda's summons.

hmmmm. advanced lock. four tumblers. little rusty.

He extracts his tool and a dab of lubricant and makes a twist and turns on the lock.

Alright now. Three. Two. One. . .

Disable device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

I hope it will just be the pleasure of your company. But if the sculpted Halfling smasher hulks back to life, you could prehaps save mine.

I have no ranks in kill giant stone construct thingy :-)

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Oh. She's talking down to me. But somehow she's still showing respect. I've only know people who say they are my friend. Tarvinda is diffferent. She never says it. She just is.

Andwell steps back. Standing equally between his companions.
Yes yes. There's always another way. Always. Hmmmm.
Prehaps you apply you skills to the door Tarvinda.
While you do that, I have another idea. All locks I've worked on allow the key to be removed after locking and unlocking. Mabyee, just maybee I can get the key out safley.

Wanna help Neculai?

Andwell skitters off back to the statue. Climbs up and exmines the key and keyhole to see if it has a mechanical lock, or if the key just sits in there, indicating it might re-activate if removed.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Smashing doors are good exercise. Oooooooooor. We could smash the Halfling eating statue while it's off, then get the key. I'm just saying is all. My oh my.

I don't think Tarvinda will sanction smashing the image of her deity, but it's worth a shot.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

ooh ooh. Seems this lock matches, um, that key we, um, turned the statue off with. My oh my.

I'm not going back for the other unless we smuch the monstrosity first. I'll try to pickety pick the lock. Cover me!

disable device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell steps next to his friend Tarvinda.
Yes yes. Onward we must go. The less time spent here, the better.
Eenie meenie miney more. The last stairs fell down, so let try the door.

I scuttle up to the door, and give it a good check-a-roo.

Check for traps 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell slumps to the floor, laying splayed out like a snow angle.

Who makes these things! Go get the everflame they say. It's a big honor they say. Sure sure. Fight big stoney statues. No no no. No one say that.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell takes his dagger and thrusts it into a sensitive joint or crevasse.

Am I flanking with Xeros or anyone else?

Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 (11 if flanking)

Damage 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 (plus 1d6 ⇒ 2 if flanked)

Halflings have no experience with stone. Where's a frick'n Dwarf when you need one!? How ya do'n Xeros?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Xeros. Stay back I can do this by myse*

No time for pride Andwell. Trust these new friends.

Xeros. Wait. Take this. Andewll holds up the key. The statues girth is too great or my Halfling limbs to gain purchase. Place the key in his back. Feel for the second "click", and turn to your left.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

must. hold.on

grapple 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 1 = 9

Pluck me like a chicken and stick me in a pot.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Aweeeee! Andwell cries out in pain from behind the living statue.

13 of 19 HP

FRICK!

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Tarvinda. Slack the rope!
Andwel rushes down the colapsed satair case, now a ramp, and cuts diagonal to the back wall. Wedging himself between the wall and the back of the construct. Thrusting the key into the slot, he uses he best tactile senses and training to tumble the key pegs into (what he hopes is) the off position.

Come on Andwel. Trun this monster off or your a goo smear on the wall.

Disable Device1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Extra rolls if needed by GM.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

It's just statues. How bad can it Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Go reflexes go! 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

I'm taking point. Is that B14? Awesome map BTW.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

I'll go. Slowly. Step by step. Inch by inch. Looking for traps along the way.

Stay sharp eyed with that bow Xeros. And only shoot above three and a half feet, if you please.

Here's some checks if/when needed.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 +1 for traps
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 +1 for traps
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 +1 for traps
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 +1 for traps
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 +1 for traps
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 +1 for traps

I hope only that first check is needed. *gulp*

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

See. Safe.
He lays on his back with limbs splayed out. Panting. Easy.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andewll look back at the tiefling. He suddenly feels a bright spotlight is on him, and all are judging his character.

Oooooh. Umm. Yes Yes! Of course, I was just going to suggest that exact thing. I want to crawl into a shadow and disappear. Halfling luck is legendary, as well as our skills.

The cold sweat and gaunt face are visible to any you care to notice.
Reluctantly he crawls froward onto the floor.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Ooh Ohh. Careful now. Backup a pace.
Andwell layes prone on his belly. Ties a rope around his waist and tosses the end to Travinda.
Crawling over the the questioned stone, he affixes a magnifying monocle over his eye.
Yes yes. Hmmm. Oooo. My my. Well now. this is simple enough.
He carefully takes out his tool set. Move this here. slide that back. yes yes. Alright everyone. Step back to the doorway. Here we go. In three . . .two . . .one . .

Disable trap 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

click . . .

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Hmmm. I wonder. . .
Andwell tries the key in the unlocked door, to see if it will lock it.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Frick!
I don't understand. The key wont work. He looks about to the others for inspiration.
Should I try and pick it?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell steps up onto the edge of the pool for a better vantage point, and takes watch.

perception if needed 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell strides over to join the conversation.
After listening, he tell what he found out about the two doors.
He concludes with But I didn't disturb them further. Seeing as half of us were wet, and the other half naked. Bad time to find new monsters . . .

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Checking for locks and traps on the unopened doors.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 +1 for traps

WhooHoo!

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell has been trying desperately to give the illusion he was oblivious the banter of the others. At hearing the above comment, he uncontroable burst out a huge belly laugh HaaaaHoooooWaHa. His cover blown, he looks around and smiles at the others.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Enjoying all the great RP and characterizations. Carry on! With or without pants :-O

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Meh. Now if the feet were as big as the top, and a furry as, ahh, mmm, well then . . .

Andell goes about looking for hidden compartments and traps about the room and pool's exterior, while the tall ones play show and tell.

1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 23

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

My 'gran taught me in my youth, "if 'ya want som'tin outa the water, ya use a pole and hook. Swimming aint fur Halflings."

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell whispers to no one in particular. Ohh. How brave of her to go into the dark blind. I will be brave as well and guard the center of the group from attack by standing in the middle.

Andwell places one hand on his trusty sling "Knee-Breaker" and the other on his sword "Shin-Splinter". Ready to use either at a moments notice.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Seeing Etna enjoying the aroma's of his cooking, Andwell grins a proud wide smile.
Oh yes. My cooking has been known to draw folks in up to half a mile away.
After a moments reflection on his words, his grim turns upside down and he starts to kick out the fire.
Hurry, hurry! Time to move along. Yes yes. Go go go.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Oh my, Mr. Xeros. I now feel so . . invigorated. Heavens yes, my oh my. Very nice indeed.
In fact, I feel I shall throw on an few extra vittles to feed this energy.

The comforting aroma of hardy halfling comfort food should be melting away the dank ruins and ushering in feelings of a cosy mountain side inn.

Break-fast and hearty my friends. The grinning halfling murmurs through a mouth full of biscuit, gesturing for all to partake of the spread.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Good breakfast everyo, eer, good morning everyone. Offers a a bright eyed and rested Andwell.

Would anyone object to me sparking up a small cook fire. Just a tiny one, mind you.
I can boil up some ground java beens. Rise some fluffy biscuits and sizzle a rack of bacon. Mmm nummy nummy nummy.

After all. Early breakfast is the most important of the day. It's what gives us strength to make it until mid-morning breakfast after all.

Andwell makes snacking noises as he dutifully begins preparing for the mornings repast.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell stops in his tracks as he hears the words of Neculai and the others.

Yes yes, return I must. Rest we need.

But then his insatiable Halfling curiosity and rogue nature kick in.

I should take back one of these satchels and brooms to examine further. Yes yes!

but then again . . .

They could trigger a trap. That would be bad

ARRRRGGGGG

Will save on self to leave the room untouched
DC 10 (50/50) 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Andwell silently backs out of the room, leaving everything undisturbed, and returns the door to it's previous position.

Your correct Neculai. That choice was obvious and easy to make. pause Anyone got an extra snack?

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Save your strength, my brave friend.
Let me *gulp* crawl ahead and get a looks'y look first.
If you see me running away on quick feet. Follow!

Feeding off the courage of those around him, Andwell goes into stealth mode and moves forward to sneak-a-peak ant the mysterious moaner.

Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Perception (if needed) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
