Fluff:

Alynthar was born to parents who followed the Goddess of Beauty. When they discovered his Tiefling nature, they did not know what to do. An elf wizard in the region, Fastar, heard of the tiefling baby, and offered to take him in as his apprentice. Alynthar's parents agreed. Unfortunately, Fastar had no intentions of nurturing the child. For the next seventy-nine years, he experimented on Alynthar, finding new uses for various parts of a tiefling (he was particularly fond of blood and bones, which he regrew through regeneration potions made by a witch who owed him a favor), and used him as a slave. Because of his close involvement with the demented wizard, Alynthar was eventually able to pick up some basic magic, without his master's knowledge. Using this magic, he was able to escape, but his former master is now hunting him. Because of his master's experiments, Alynthar is severely deformed. His body is covered in scars, he is missing two fingers on his left hand, and one on his right, and his left ear and right eye. He has red slitted eyes, serrated teeth, and the stumps of two horns, which were cut off by his master and cauterized, so that they will not grow back. He constantly wears gloves and a deep hood, as well as a blood red eyepatch. The torture his master practiced on him have left him frail and weak, but his natural dexterity is unharmed, due to his practice dodging blows and punishments when he was serving as a slave.

Alynthar is angry, bitter, and cynical. He firmly believes that anything comes at a cost, usually a cost greater than what he gets out of it. He tries to go against this rule, helping those who can't afford to reward him, but he believes that he is an outlier from the general whole. He also believes that morals are situational and not written in stone. It may be wrong to murder one person, but not another. This shows most clearly in his willingness to use necromancy for personal gain as well as for the good of others. When dealing with others, he is aggressive and harsh, and tends to rely on intimidation rather than diplomacy, using his skills as a necromancer to terrify others into following his will.

He dreamt of one day gathering an army of undead and returning to Fastar's home, which he will raze to the ground. He wished to capture his former master alive and torture him to death, only to raise him from the dead so he can do it again and again. This dream fell short, however, when Fastar captured him after only a few months of freedom. Furious at his slave's escape, Fastar launched a Lightning Bolt spell at Alynthar. The last thing Alynthar remembered was the smell of ozone as the bolt of electricity shot in his direction, about to kill him.
