Male Kayal Rogue/1

Alerio will go in first, shortbow drawn and ready, moving at half-speed and keeping to the shadows. He'll be constantly turning his head to make sure he doesn't miss anything moving in the room.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

"Flip a coin tends to be the easy way to decide. Heads we go left." Alerio pulls out a coin and flips it into the air, then snatching it and slapping it onto the back of his hand.

Coin toss: 1d2 ⇒ 2, 1=heads.

Alerio shrugs, slips the coin back into his pouch, and moves to the right door to peer in, searching for signs of danger or traps.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19; +1 vs. traps

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Alerio lunges at the dog, seeking to disable a leg as it passes.

Rapier: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

I'm assuming WD2 is the dog we're getting AoOs on?

Male Kayal Rogue/1

"Nothing of the sort. These are like the others, hungry wretches."

Alerio slides into the shadows near the tower walls, loosing an arrow at the furthest dog he can see. Shift to F11, shoot WD4. I'm guessing there are shadows near the base of the tower?

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Crit Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sneak Attack Damage (if applicable): 1d6 ⇒ 1

Alternate: if one of the dogs comes near to Alerio, he'll drop the shortbow, pull his rapier, and stab the dog.

Rapier: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Crit Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

"I like the dark, personally. Shadows and darkness don't hinder me. Perhaps I'll scout ahead of the light where I won't be seen." Alerio pulls out his Shadow mask, hiding what little was visible of his face behind the black-dyed leather. Swirls cross the surface of the mask, breaking up its uniform surface. He pulls out his shortbow and moves ahead toward the darkness of the tower's interior, looking back at the others on the edge of the darkness. "Shall we?"

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Alerio sighs. "Nursing it back to health so it can continue to scrounge would result in it starving to death in this season. It's a harsh land, and there's little food. Whatever predators there are here will come soon, and the beast would be eaten anyway. If we were still there when they did, we would have more than just a pack of feral dogs to fight. The beast was destined for death in the near future, more likely than not in a less pleasant way than having an unconscious throat cut."

As a note, Alerio isn't trying to break things up or be evil. He does think what he did was for the best.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

"I dislike hanging around waiting to see what happens. If they were feral, we've delayed enough. If they were sent to attack us, waiting around here will only be playing into the hands of the person who sent them. Finding whatever's left in that tower is important, and I have no wish to just stand around here with the smell of hot rotting dog in my nose." Alerio moves over to the unconscious form of the dog and slits its throat. After cleaning the dagger, he starts walking toward the tower again. Turning back after a minute, he calls out, "You coming?"

My post would have been pretty much identical whether or not I made that Survival check, as a note.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

"Slow us down. They've certainly stopped us here long enough for somebody else to perhaps get an edge in reaching the Fortress. Perhaps turn us around. If they were rabid and one of us were bitten, would we all have been willing to continue on? Abused animals will do whatever is necessary to avoid further abuse."

Alerio cleans off his rapier, then steps around to consider the remaining dog. He looks from the rapier to the dog and back again, then sheathes the rapier. "A dog that bites once will bit again unless taken care of. I'm thinking we make that not a problem anymore." He pulls out a dagger.

My apologies for not being able to post earlier. I was unable to reach an Internet connection. Thanks for continuing without waiting for me, and that's pretty much what Alerio would have done, DM Patcher.

Alerio, shifting targets from the dead dog, will attack the one between himself and Godwin, doing what he can to take advantage of the dog's distraction at being flanked.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Tsk. No luck, I suspect.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

"Probably feral. We can fight, or we can run." Alerio draws his rapier and moves off to one side of the group, closer to the tower.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Alerio packs up his things and begins to follow the path across the plain to the tower.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

"Might want to take our break on the south side of the tree. Wind's from the north about now." Alerio clears a space among the leaves and takes a seat, back to the trunk.

Male Kayal Rogue/1

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Alerio follows along behind the group in silence for the first part of the journey, letting his eyes and ears pick up what he can about them. Too much religion, is his first impression. When the question of purpose in journeying comes up, he speaks for the first time in several hours. "Information. Knowledge is a form of power, and it's a business. There's undoubtedly some unknown information in the tower, and I mean to have it before the competition does."

Male Kayal Rogue/1

"Espionage, doors, locks, death. It's all the same, really. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, it's the business I work in. Call me Alerio."

Here's jlighter's character. It's half-done. The only oddity so far is playing a Fetchling. I'll have the equipment and background done later today (currently 4PM PST). And please, take Will over me if it comes to that. I can always hold out for another PBP or a wait-list.
