So will there be a set for Serpent's Skull coming out soon??
Cause I'm going to be running that in a few months and I would really love to have a set for the campaign.

Are there any out yet? And if not are there any plans to make them?

I'm planning on running this AP as soon as we finish my current campaign. We have never really used minis(usually just put down dice as representatives).
I almost bought the Kingmaker paper mini set since that is one of the games I am playing in; however, by the time I was going to buy them we were already deep in the campaign.

Anyone use these in their APs and if so are they worth buying it for Serpent's Skull??

I think this campaign just took a turn for the best.

And with that-

Aranira and Caunilla - Twin elven sorceresses. After that sinks in... They are brought on to be standard deck hands, but the captain often under utilizes them (this is due to his opinion of their class). However, the twins very much dislike getting "special" treatment. Despite how foreign or intriguing they appear to other people, Aranira and Caunilla are most comfortable with one another. This is not because they are twins, but because they treat one another as mundane. Their individual exotic abilities are simply normal to each other, and they want others to see them that way. The party could benefit from two powerful allies if they find a way to convince the twins that they also see them as equal as the rest of the crew.

That's my last character post for the crew. I hope you have some fun.

=D thanks for your help!!

I’m honestly not being snarky, just friendly FYI.

If this is going to be a 3-month campaign strictly at-sea and your entire NPC crew is going to be as you say, and if you are going to do any amount of email or hand-outs, you may want to correct the spelling/usage of “navel” to “naval.”

Some may find the idea of sea-faring elves picking at their bellybuttons humorous and even justified, but somehow I don’t think that’s what you were going for. :D

Ah, I see what you did there. However not changing it could lead to a strangely sexy alternative to sea travel.

One final question. Does your answer bolded above mean that the non-officer positions are not necessarily filled by elves, and that just the officers are elves? Or is it a merchant crew that has been requisitioned by the navy? But...

Everyone on the crew is an elf. All 20 of them are navel officers. They're just using a merchant vessel for the moment.

Thanks btw. This is all gold! =D

It's a merchant vessel, however, the elves on it are all navel officers.

The one big thing about sea travel in this world is that most people travel by sea portals that reduces travel time to a mere 15 miles from port. That's not to say everyone in the world does that but these elves have never really traveled more than a few days from port. This will be their first time at sea for an extended period of time.

I this thread on /tg/ earlier so far this is what I got.

-An elven trio one short of a former barbershop quartet (the former fourth member left because of creative differences
Van Oaken - The gentlemanly one, and a skilled banjo player, also a crack shot with a pistol.
Haggis McMaple - a rather un-elvenlike person, large and strong. He speaks with a Scottish accent and has a love of the caber toss.
Sawtree Bill - Short and stout, one might mistake him for a dwarf. He has a love of gold and riches.
As a possible event to transpire mid-route, the trio return to their old singing ways, crooning on about old sailors tales and the sea, and refuse to work. Their song must be broken to continue the voyage, but beware, for they are skilled at both singing and rhyming, so the PC's will have some trouble coming up with lyrics or words to break the song.

-Four of them go by the name Hamish, but only one of them is telling the truth. No-one on the ship actually knows which one is really called Hamish. They don't even look alike, and one's a woman!

Actually I just need ideas for interesting NPCs. At the moment the campaign I'm running has the PCs in a lot of sea travel. It's about 3 months tops for whats planned. The PCs are on an elven run ship with with 20 crew member including captain and the first mate.
Since this is such a long trip I want them to get to know their fellow crew mates, especially if someone dies. I'd hate for deaths to just be nameless elven sailor#3 even though they've been traveling with them for months.

Any ideas? I'm looking for names and interesting personalities.
Thanks ahead of time.

My player's ended the last session with the Vordakai's defeat. They haven't had a chance to investigate him or his lair and I have been wondering about how to handle the eye. Would anyone who wasn't NE who handled the eye want to pluck their eye out even though it would not work for them? How have others handled this?

Well that's the fun in it. Any good mage would be curious about any powerful artifact that they came by.

Besides you don't have to tell them the eye won't work for them.
In fact when my character did it all he got was Darkvision. My DM made sure to let me know that the eye had more power but it wouldn't give it up... yet.
It's a great way to tempt players down a terrible path of chaos and destruction.

So despite all of the useful information here are there any other tips to running this AP.
I'll be running this for my group soon so any other tips would be nice.

We'll see how things go. I've only had it for two sessions so there is a lot to be explored. Unfortunately there hasn't been a lot of role play as far as story development goes so I'm just going to role with it for as long as possible and try my best to ruin someone in the party before he is most likely doomed to the life of an NPC.

Well at the moment me and my DM talked about it. My character wouldn't directly do anything to hurt our Kingdom. He wants it to prosper but that doesn't mean I can't still do evil with the eye.
We figured it was intelligent enough to realize that if the kingdom thrives that he(and the eye) will have a powerful front to cover up any misdeeds. In fact if you run with this idea in the end once you're getting close to epic the player in question could attempt to start a war; and spread death and famine throughout the kingdom and to all others that surround.

Good thing no one is a pali in the party.
Everyone can be easily corrupted MWAHAHAHAAHA!!!

The best way I have converted things is using herolabs to remake the characters about 10 minutes each give or take

herolabs?

At the moment I'm running an adventure book called 'The Drow War' by Mongoose Publishing. It's a level 1-30 campaign with three books. Each covering 10 levels. Currently we're at the start of book 2.
It's a great story with epic battles. Only problem is that the enemies are some of the most sorry excuses for encounters ever. In fact the BBEG of book one only had 39 HP and was a horrible mix of fighter and cleric.
For most encounters if I don't see fit to completely rebuild the enemies I just throw down the advanced monster template on them. It's made things easier but I wanna know if there is an easier way for conversion.
Any ideas??

What?

Paladin.

Hah... what?

Well I've had a couple of ideas just in case. But surprisingly the party has come to like him more. At the start of the adventure he was only 15 and a complete coward. Now he's 17 and he was getting more use to combat situations although he still has his moments of cowardice while fighting.
After he plucked out his eye all he got was darkvision and he raged!
So now he's angry and way more keen for combat. And the hardened fighter of the group is final acknowledging him.
It's been two sessions since he's had the eye in his head and he can cast greater scrying 3/day right now and I refuse to stop this dissent into evil.

Can't wait to see how everything turns out.

So me and my group are running through Kingmaker and we're nearing the end of 'The Varnhold Vanishing'.
After defeating a certain BBEG with a magical eye my character, Baltz Rogarvia Male Witch, was overcome with curiosity and a slight hunger for power tore out his own eye and inserted the new one.
Anyways he's neutral but heading down a path of evil and corruption since the artifact won't grant him all of it's powers just yet.
Being in a majority good aligned party this should be intersting.

Any other similar stories that someone would like to share?? =D

Lord, that fight for our group was SO intense. Half of the party was late to the session so we ended up starting without them. So when they finally showed up we (PC and Metagame) had no real idea what our strategy was.
It was chaotic, brutal, and fun.

Awesome battle field btdubs!!
