Ok, so I got my Beginners Box and I created a Dwarven Rogue. Im still a little confused but I like it alot more than that crappy confusing red box I got a while back.
Im level 1
On section G.. I dont have anything in imp initiative, Attack bonus or Attack Bonus besides Melee and Ranged. What is that for?

In sect H my AC is +4 because of my chain mail, no shield,3 dex mod, and 0 magic + 10 = 17 right?

Also as a Dw Rogue, I get 8 ranks in Section D skills right?

Also, what is a link to some of the beginner box mistakes?

I have played every iteration of D&D since 2nd and now play Pathfinder (quite fondly, I might add). I have been gifted a few 4e books and I leafed through them, but not extensively.

(I have the PHB 1, Forgotten Realms and one more I can't remember at the moment.)

Perhaps age is an obstacle here. I just don't find the books all that interesting and I'm not sure I see any changes that were all that needful but I'm reserving my opinion here until I can talk to someone who's played the game.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'd hate to waste gifted books.

Clockwork-Thief who defecates all over stuff as his calling card. He also deficates when the clock strikes noon.

Carl the half ork- My boyfriends pc. He is based off of Carl from aqua teen. Ork spelled that way on purpose.

There is one, I forgot her name, but she has EVERY disease in the DnD realm and somehow avoids the death effects. Her combat style revolves around cutting herself and throwing the infected daggers. She is also NASTY. Sneaking in the enemies area to infect their toothbrushes or spit in their mouths.

A 90 year old human parapelegic that the players must bring along. GM's PC. He throws his prescription meds at the enemies hoping they will overdose.He also has a "run over toes with his powerscooter" melee attack.

When was the worlds first gun invented? I think it was in china wasnt it? People used guns in medievel times. Primitive tubes with stone balls and crude black powder, but they still existed.

But I would like to see things that flow through mirrors,ice,glass and other reflective surfaces "Tremors" style.

Sentient Diseased Mold.

Terminator 2 style robot cyborgs that can shapeshift doppleganger style.

Spider like humanoids "Chitine".

Sentient stones that can roll and crush when threatened.

"The Thing" style creatures.

Shadow monsters that replace your shadow that can strangle and drain hp.

Sentient objects like brooms, kitchen knives, forks, and furniture Evil Dead style.

Large slugs that leave a trail of slippery slime on dungeon floors,emit a toxic fume, and shoot poisonous barbs.

Slender Man style forest monster that kinaps, disembowels and eats towns people.

Zombie-Werewolf-Lich-Vampire hybrids

Water that reverses your position and glasses over when touched to drown the pc and attempt to absorb him/her.

I hope this isnt a violation of terms but the following contains no sexual content, its a parody. Sorry if it is, feel free to remove if so. The humor may be a bit dark so if thats not your thing then I suggest not reading any further.

My boyfriend and I want to create a silly campaign based around something we would like to parody in the BDSM and Hentai community.

Goreans and over the top hyper annoying anime women.

The entire campaign setting would be one based on sex, but never actually getting sexual due to the difficult personalities of the wacko NPC's. It is meant to be played online.

A lot of the NPCs would act like they have a certain fetish, then when the players become interested something horrible happens and it prevents said act from happening.

DM:"A room full of beautiful women motion for you to enter the room."

PC:"I enter and unsheathe my sword"

DM:"Rocks fall, errrrrrrbody dies."

But a little more creative and funny. (Beautiful woman of the waterfall slips and cracks her skull on a rock right before she leads the PC to her pleasure den.)

The point is to entertain ourselves and see how the PCs react to getting their dreams crushed over and over again.

My questions.

What do you think about this?

Will it be funny to the PCs after a while or will it make them angry to the point that they quit?

Ok here goes...does this ever happen to you or am i the only one...when me and the guys get together to game..they absolutely have to talk about and rehash who has the loudest farts, worse smell, or who pees the longest....Oh and don't forget about the gnomish crotch crickets...I mean ok I can fart, burp, and pee long too...but god every game? I know guys are guys and this is a must for them. I mean hell at least I don't start talking about all the female problems we girls have...(god imagine it..they would all go running screaming in horror if I brought up the "P" word or other problems) although I will admit that it the look of stun on the guys faces when I actually farted and one game was absolutely priceless...

So girls let me know if you have any of these problems or others...It would be nice to know I'm not the only one...

I like the dice too! I just canceled my order of the books on Amazon and preordered the beginner box via Amazon. Should I have went thru this site for quicker delivery? Amazon is kind of slow these days.

It does a pretty good job of walking you through it, and for most characters it just involves some relatively basic adjustments.

Its been a week or so and they havent shipped my pathfinder books either.

I just purchased the red box.

I figured it would be neat and I got it for 13 dollars.

They say that the red box isnt compatible with 4 ed essentials but I want to play my red box character until it dies and I want to take it further than the red box adventure can take me. If this is not the case, forgive me for my ignorance. :)

Preferably, I want to do the red box adventure (Its my understanding that it has one) then level up and go to the modules from the DM kit and then to the shadowfell kit.

Is there any way or conversion method to convert my chara's stats to "real" essentials rules?

Im getting the players guide, the adv players guide, the monster book, and the city of strangers.

Im STILL getting the beginners box because its so cool! Plus, Im a beginner, so Im thinking its going to help out tons!

I wish the minis came with it, and I wish it came with a few more tiles or whatnot but its still a great value to me, because Im actually going to learn with the box set and Im going to try helping others with it after Im done.

If you're really in a hurry, you could do worse than try one of the pregenerated characters here.

You haven't said if this is a 'normal' game, or if your GM is running a Pathfinder Society game (which has some extra restrictions, to allow for any player to turn up anywhere and fit in).
The advantage of those pregens, is that they take those restrictions into account, so you won't have any nasty surprises if you find your in a Society game. Nobody can say you took an option that isn't allowed (like a magic-item crafting feat).

One of them is Paizo's iconic Rogue, Merisiel. Think of the Iconics as mascots for the company and the game. They're used in advertising, and to illustrate the rules or adventures.
Merisiel is one of the longest-running, and has plenty of art, stories, and a miniature if you decide you want to keep on playing her.
She's an amoral, thrill-seeking adventuress, who acts first and thinks later. An ADHD Lara Croft, but with daggers in place of pistols.
She also comes with her own pre-potted background, if you're looking for inspiration.
You can always change the name, the background, and run her as your own, as well, of course.

Your Game Master should have given you the outlines how you can allocate points to the six attributes (Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma).

3. Valid Sources
What books can be used for building your character apart from the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and Ultimate Combat (which contains the NINJA).

Ninja can be used. I would like that.

4. Houserules
Are there any important "inofficial" rules at your GMs table that you know could impact the game a a fundamental level and thus should be minded during character generation?

Not that I know of.

5. Setting
Last but most certainly not least comes the setting that you gonna be play in. It is very useful to know what type of game its gonna be. Will you be playing a combat heavy oneshot "action"adventure with minimal roleplaying or a roleplaying filled yearlong campaign...

Most groups will propably just tell when to roll what dice and go from there, a short introduction is usually all it takes for starters. Then you can still decide if this is for you or not.

So, do I just not show up? Will I be too much of a burden on the group if I have to learn all the steps involved in how to play?

How complicated is this exactly?

Should I get the beginners kit? How will it aid beginners? What do I need to play?
