Background:

Akhet was born in the peaceful city of Azir and, as a youth, thought there no reason for the worship of gods of any kind. As he grew older and felt a connection growing with the land outside of the city, he began to withdraw from all of the society of man, not just the religious aspects. All was, at first, well. Nature was pure and found its own way to balance. But balance was not a state that was to be preserved without action.

As civilization encroached on the wild, Akhet began to adapt. Hiding amongst the populace where he could, taking when necessary, helping when necessary, and pruning the weak and the strong to retain balance. Still he listened. He listened, especially to travlers, and he heard their words about wars in the rest of the world, stories about individuals rising to power and even farther to reshape the world unilaterally. This, at first, frightened Akhet. Then it angered him. But he learned of an organization in the shadows. The Red Mantis. He learned that they hunted such individuals and that they fought to retain the status quo. When he then heard that they got their start in Azir, he decided to return to the place of his birth and search.

He started his research quietly but grew more bold with each bread crumb discovered. It was a long trek, but now, six years later, he has found what he had been looking for. A member of the Red Mantis, he specializes in unusual infiltration and exfiltration. Being able to take other shapes and to be immune to the trackers and hunters of the enemy has served Akhet well and he and his tiger are extremely useful combatants and support as well. Akhet has bowed his head in word to the cult of the mantis god, but still doesn't believe in his heart. He feels that the Red Mantis are zealots and zealots are dangerous, this is true, but out here, outside of the nation of the godless, Akhet has found that everyone is a zealot of one kind or another. At least the Red Mantis maintain the balance, maintain the status quo...

Description:

Akhet is a rugged looking man that appears in his 30s. He has ruddy colored skin and black hair and the skin of his hands and feet makes it obvious that he has spent a lifetime working out in the wilderness. He typically wears heavy cloth covering, obscuring his figure as well as hiding much of his armor.

Generally standing beside him is a medium sized tiger, a sandy brown color with black stripes. It seems somewhat threatening in physical size, but generally sits or lies down and seems indolent at best.
