Personality
Spoiler:
Having spent nearly all of her years in a secluded monastery, Aixa is somewhat naïve and sheltered, though friendly and eager to learn about the world outside the walls of the monastery. Raised on the strict teachings of Sarenrae’s dervishes, Aixa is also zealous in her faith, believing Sarenrae the goddess most worthy of glory and worship above all other gods. She frequently tries to convert others to the Dawnflower’s faith, inviting them to sunrise prayer services, offering simple blessings, or giving impromptu homilies and sermons along with healing. She honestly does not understand why other people might not be interested in her religion.
In battle, Aixa becomes a whirling desert whirlwind, her scimitar flashing with deadly grace. She offers no quarter to enemies facing her, unless they are obviously misguided or she feels that they may be redeemed. She reserves her undying hatred for gnolls, whom she believes killed her long-lost and barely-remembered parents, and slays them with a passion that almost matches her devotion to Sarenrae.
Background
Spoiler:
Aixa was orphaned at a young age, her parents killed (she believes) by gnolls. She was found by a nomadic badawi tribe who took her to a monastery of Sarenrae deep in the desert. There, Aixa was raised by the monks, and trained as a dervish in the service of Sarenrae. She learned the arts of dance and swordplay, as well as the arts of healing and diplomacy, and studied the histories of Katapesh and Garund and the sacred texts of the Dawnflower. Finally of age, Aixa has heard of the Pactmasters’ plan to rebuild the village of Kelmarane, and she has left the monastery to join the expedition. Aixa hopes to learn more of the history of Sarenrae’s faith in the western deserts, reintroduce the faith by rebuilding the town’s temple, and perhaps found a new monastery there.
