Howdy all!

I come here seeking advice. My party is still fairly new, having just narrowly missed capturing Tsuto beneath the glassworks in Burnt Offerings.

One of the players is new to role-playing (but doing an awesome job so far), and since he was a little leary of the concept at first, I allowed him to browse my extensive RPG library and get an idea of what he liked. And what he liked (loved, even) was the Warforged from my 3.5 Eberron Campaign setting.

Thankfully, I found a Pathfinder compatible conversion of the race, and agreed to let him play it. That said, I want to make something special out of his character, as Warforged obviously don't exist in Golarion. While my first thought was to make him either a construct from Alkenstar or something from Numeria, I can't help but be drawn by the urge to make hime Runeforged instead of Warforged!

So here's where I need your help. Why would this runeforged being exist? Which runelord (or their assistants) created him, and for what purpose? How can I weave hints of his identity into the story as the players go forward?

Making things much easier is the fact that he is playing his character as a relative amnesiac. He does not know his past, save that he awakened deep beneath the junk heap outside of Sandpoint shortly after the Runewell there flared to life, with an innate understanding of the ways of war (fighter class) and the ability to read and understand Thassilonian. He dug his way out, and over time, has earned a decent reputation as an arm for hire in Sandpoint.

So guys, throw some ideas at me! :D Please?

Experienced player/DM seeking a game to play in. Prefer PF rule system. I am quite familiar with and comfortable with PbP games.

I own most of the core books, can play whatever character your campaign needs. I have a strong preference for bards, rogues, sorcerers, paladins, and clerics (I know, an eclectic mix!) but I am able to play anything you need.

I play well with others, can commit to at least one post a day M-F with some weekend availability, and I am comfortable with most any subject matter/theme.

Character personality types that I am most fond of are charming, witty types, but again, I'm open to play whatever.

I have a particular fondness for both Golarion and Eberron, but will play well in a homebrew world too.

Let me know! :)

A couple of weeks ago, the son of one of my regular players had his 12th birthday. A few weeks before that, his mom (my player) asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday, and his answer was, "I want Mr. Woegman to run a D&D game for me."

Now, how could I say no to that? We made the arrangements to have him, my son, and three other kids (one boy, two girls) to come over for a 12 hour marathon game...using Pathfinder, of course! I ran "Crown of the Kobold King", starting the characters off at second level, figuring the kids would like to play characters with a little more oomph than first level, and that the story of adventurous kids needing rescuing would be something they could relate to. The morning before the game, the birthday boy's mom and I took him to the gaming store, and he picked out his first dice (two sets) and I bought him the Pathfinder Core book.

There was some cheating during the game(I've never seen so many "crit" rolls in my life), but I addressed it when it was becoming too blatent and they got the message; I said look, if you just want to always succeed, I can just tell you a story where you all win and we can be done. Or, we can play, have fun, sometimes fail or sometimes win, but enjoy it all the same. We got about halfway through the module when it was time to call it a night, but I promised we would find a time this coming month to finish the module off.

Apparently, it was a big success. His mom said that he is still talking about the game two weeks later. The parents of the girls who played (they're gamers too) said that the girls had a blast, and can't wait till the game continues. And last night, the mother of the other boy that was there called me, telling me that she's never seen her son so passionate about anything, that after much begging, she bought him the Beginner's Box and that he has been reading every night, because he wants to learn how to run a game. He also begged her to ask me to run a game for his birthday in a few months!

On top of that, my son, whose birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, said that he wants me to run a game on his birthday too, and wants his own copy of the core book so he can read it when he's at home with his mom (my ex). :)

Monsters, I tell ya! Gaming monsters!
