Background:
Life had not been easy for Aelbourne Andosana. His mother, Seanthia, scandalously married his father, Jakardos, a Human mercenary shortly before his birth. Life was good for a time as he and his half-sister, Shalelu, grew up in the small elven village of Crying Leaf. Shalelu, although older by years, took Aelbourne with her as she explored the woods outside the village, teaching him some of the ways of woodcraft and he was soon glued to her hip at almost every turn.
Life was good for a while until his mother was killed by a marauding green dragon that attacked the village. His father, distraught by the loss of his love, took both Shalelu and Aelbourne and left them with their grandparents before leaving Crying Leaf, never to return. Confused by the sudden abandonment Aelbourne clung closer to Shalelu until she too left Crying Leaf to see what was outside their small world.
Left alone for a second time Aelbourne was trained by the village guards to protect the village from the dangers of the Mierani Forest and from the raids from the Drow located the in the ruins of the nearby former Elven city of Celwynvian.
Aelbourne trained hard but soon realized that the regimented training didn’t suit his rambunctious, chaotic lifestyle so following in his big sister’s shoes he too left Crying Leaf to seek his fortune elsewhere. While adventuring in Varisia he came across his estranged father. The two of them soon reconciled as Jakardos told his son of Shalelu’s whereabouts in a town called Sandpoint, located along the coast road between Magnimar and Riddleport.
Traveling the road he met up with a caravan led by a verbose man named Sandru Vhiski, who welcomed another blade to guard the caravan. Just short of Sandpoint the wagon train was attacked by a group of goblins from the nearby swamp. Much to the surprise of everyone these goblins were armed with a variety of pyrotechnics and fireworks they had scavenged from somewhere. Luckily the caravan escaped the ambush with little more than a couple of scorched wagons.
Once in Sandpoint Aelbourne bid Sandru goodbye and headed to the local inn, The Rusty Dragon, to inquire about his sister.
