can I still use the Career Change boon to quickly retrain feats and such without having to switch to the remaster chassis and lose the School benefits?

Remaster rules

"Such characters retain their school lore unless and until rebuilt under Remaster rules." and "Legacy characters who are rebuilt under Remaster rules must remove any bonus lore and feat earned from Pathfinder Training."
-> If you aren't using the remaster rebuild (but are instead using some other rebuild or retraining) you retain the old school benefits.

will we get a refund

Traditionally, the answer has been that No, there's not a refund - your acp got you the option to play the ancestry/heritage early. However, other ancestries and heritages that were changed to common/always available got an updated text in the boon, giving them a free resurrection, so you probably get a free resurrection too.

(Free feat seems unlikely, but then again, the only one that lost anything was ganzi - previously, they gained that random resistance instead of LLV->DV upgrade like other planar scions, now they get the vision upgrade like everybody else and need to spend a feat for the resistance. Aphorite previously got the same Low Light Vision, so your Nephilim "aphorite" lost nothing compared to your old Aphorite and doesn't need a free feat to be exactly identical to the old version. If you check how tiefling/aasimar was handled when nephilim got reprinted, the character options state that nephilims get to choose either aasimar or tiefling, and they count all old aasimar OR tiefling feats as having the nephilim trait, or vice versa. I expect the same to happen with aphorite and ganzi, meaning that your nephilim can still select aphorite feats as you previously could.)

It would be cool if nephilim had the option

...

I like the idea a lot of trading out the vision!

Horizon Hunters

With Aphorite, Ganzi and the other planar scions being rolled into Nephilim with War of the immortals, will we get a refund for achievement points that we spent to purchase Aphorite for Society play?

Also something that I've seen other content creators talk about is that it feels like we are losing a first level feat slot for our ancestries now with the remaster Nephilim change. Before I just chose Aphorite for my heritage, but now I need to choose the Nephilim heritage and the Aphorite lineage feat for level 1.

Possibility of getting to choose a lineage at level 1 but still get a choice of a level 1 feat?

Horizon Hunters

Maybe a cathartic mage boon but restricting it for PFS play to the non emotional focus using emotions?

Horizon Hunters

Thank you guys for the answers.

I got asked an interesting question by a player who wants to make a poppet for society games I would be running. I know the rules normally state that rare options need a boon for access but he argued that Wishborn poppets stating that they were wished to life and the back ground saying you were a construct or inanimate doll that was wished to life kind of say the same thing. Has this been ruled for poppets already for society play somewhere?

Hello. I would like to request a boon for the riding drake animal companion. Thank you.

I welcome my fellow duskwalkers to the Society! I think that the duskwalker is one of the most flavorful and unique versatile heritages that Paizo has created.

I agree. I was planning on making a duskwalker summoner with the psychopomp eidolon. Thought it would fit the theme.

Typically we discourage players from "boon hunting" in this manner or sharing such information. We'd rather players participate in an adventure for the sake of the adventure, not simply because they're interested in the shiny bauble at the end of it.

Understood. Thank you for the info. Was trying to figure out if a character idea I had was viable for society play or not.

Hello. Curious if someone is aware of a boon or scenario that gives access to the background Scion of Slayers. I see it listed as a PFS standard selection but given it's Rare tag know a boon or chronicle is required.

I checked the PFS character option page and looked under Book of the Dead but didn't see it listed under the restricted section. I found a boon to choose an uncommon class feat of the book in the boon section but nothing that mentioned the rare background.

Yeah, there seem to be a few places where the restrictions for the pre-remaster books don't match those for their remastered versions.

I believe that the current list of no-boon-required ancestry options is...

Ancestries (17)
• Catfolk
• Dwarf
• Elf
• Gnome
• Goblin
• Halfling
• Hobgoblin
• Human
• Kholo
• Kobold
• Leshy
• Lizardfolk
• Orc
• Poppet
• Ratfolk
• Tengu
• Tripkee

Versatile Heritages (5)
• Changeling
• Dhampir
• Nephilim
• Dragonblood
• Duskwalker

Mixed Heritages (2)
• Aiuvarin
• Dromaar

Definitely favoriting this. I appreciate it.

Pathfinder Player Core 2

Rarity Adjustments

All Pathfinder agents have access to the following Uncommon options:

Ancestries: catfolk, hobgoblin, kholo, kobold, lizardfolk, ratfolk, tengu, tripkee (pages 8-39)
Heritages: dhampir, dragonblood and duskwalker (pages 42-49)
Archetypes: Vigilante (page 218)
---

No boon needed.

Thank you! I was looking under the advanced player's guide section, just below the player core 2, of that page that states

"Ancestries: All ancestry and versatile heritage options, other than those mentioned above under Rarity and Access Adjustments, are of standard availability. As the catfolk ancestry and the dhampir and duskwalker versatile heritages are uncommon, this means they are limited to boon access through Chronicle Sheets or the Achievement Point system."

A bit confusing the two conflict with each other but it makes sense why the boon is gone. Thanks again!

Horizon Hunters

Maybe I'm just not seeing it but where is the duskwalker Ancestry boon in the boon purchase section? I see the other ancestries but I seem to be having trouble finding it. Is it no longer possible to purchase or is there a specific scenario we need to complete to gain access?

Hello. So one weapon I was very into thematically, as I was thinking up an investigator that uses a cane with Takedown Expert to be able to do non lethal dmg or lethal based on the criminal, was the Exquisite Sword Cane from Agents of Edge watch.

I checked and saw it wasn't included in the Avid Collector boon list for that AP and I found an old forum post mentioning that the designer felt it was a mistake due to too many traits. Wasn't able to find that post. Regardless I decided to try and pivot as I still like the idea of him using a sword cane. Would it be possible to buy the Parrying Scabbard and say the sheathe of the sword cane is the parrying scabbard for society play?

It reads "Parrying scabbards are available for any sword that can be wielded in one hand." Curious if this could work and allow the sword cane's flavor of concealment to still work while paying for the parry trait with the Scabbard. I know it would only be useful to parry in this set up and not allow the sheathe to be a club weapon like the exquisite version.

There is not, and the expectation (based on a blog when Book of the Dead was being sanctioned) is that there never will be.

Thanks for the response. Any chance there's a link to that blog post? Curious as to the reasoning.

I'd say there's a chance in the November release, Lost Omens: Divine Mysteries. It should update a lot of the divine stuff to Remaster.

That'd be awesome! Looking forward to it even more then.

The guiding star Starknife was removed with the remaster from PFS due to the removal of spell schools. https://2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=1059 That hurts as a Desnan cleric as that item is just so flavorful. Anyone know if we could possibly get a remastered version? Couldn't we remaster it by just it doing 1 spirit damage instead of the one good damage?

Horizon Hunters

Hello. I see here that the vampire archetype is considered PFS standard but it is rarity rare. https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=181 Is there any way to earn a boon to unlock the option for one of your characters?
