Starfinder Society Election Results!

Thursday, November 30, 2023

Hello, Starfinders!
Earlier this year we announced the upcoming retirement of Ehu Hadif, the current First Seeker of the Starfinder Society. Real life participants in the Starfinder Society Organized Play Program were invited to submit their experienced Starfinders for consideration for the next First Seeker election, and from them, four were selected as potential candidates for First Seeker. Over the past few months, Starfinder fans have had a chance to meet these candidates, learn about their platforms and interests, and cast their vote for who they believe should lead the Starfinder Society. Now the election is over, the ballots have been tabulated, and the results are in!

It is my pleasure to announce that Sarmak has been elected the next First Seeker of the Starfinder Society!

Sarmak is a curious and passionate Starfinder. He’s a hunter, engineer, and electrician, but his primary interest is in archaeology, with a focus on the exploration of ancient civilizations who possessed advanced technology, such as the First Ones of Aballon, and the exploration of ancient megastructures, such as the Worldshards of Arshalin. Exploring forgotten sites built by his people, the izalguuns of the Scoured Stars, is also a passion.

A curious male izalguun adventurer with multiple scars rests one hand on the pommel of his sword, while examining an unknown technological device held up in his other hand.

Sarmak is currently in the process of organizing an expedition to a city of the First Ones on Aballon.

Sarmak will officially step into the role of First Seeker at the beginning of the seventh season of the Starfinder Society Organized Play Program, launching at PaizoCon in 2024!

Congratulations, Sarmak!

May your reign be productive and fulfilling!

Turns aside to a white-furred ysoki and nods. Now we'll see how good that paywall is.

I'm just glad that scenario name dropped Riven Shroud and Worldshards of Arshalin :'D Seriously, super cool locations introduced during first irl year of Starfinder I always wanted to see more done with, so mention of them makes me hopeful

It was a great group of candidates, each of whom brought a unique personality and presented cool Mandates. I look forward to the continued focus on exploration for the Society - Congrats to First Seeker Elect Sarmak!

Right. Second Seekers (Sarmak) added to character tracking template. :)

Ditto to this, and now hoping that we circle back around to Icefront/Izalraan. All of these technologically modern izalguuns popping up in public are certainly going to draw attention back to their adopted home world; how is this affecting the "traditionalist" izalguuns who wanted to stay under the galaxy's radar just a few years ago?

Dark Archive 4/5 *** Venture-Agent, Finland—Tampere

That said Ports of Call revealed that there were izalguun on Agillae-4 who never left the planet and were living nomadic scavenger life there. Like that alone would blow up their cover unless they go with "uh, dunno who transferred the izalguuns to another planet/its same thing as how humans have evolved independently on multiple planets" cover up.

And even then kiirinta from SFS didn't have guns before they got to space, so I dunno how much attention single species from supposed hunter gatherers have when its canon that person from less technological society can become any technological class member rather fast :'D

Sure, sure, but the issue I'm thinking of is entirely on the part of the Icefront izalguuns. The kiirinta didn't have a secret to protect, whereas Icefront izalguuns have a secret that Starfinder Society players literally voted to preserve five-ish years ago.

So, really, for me the questions is, "What do Icefront izalguuns like Naarma think of the "modernized" izalguuns out there now, drawing attention to their mega-tech past?"

Dark Archive 4/5 *** Venture-Agent, Finland—Tampere

Hard to say since they apparently don't have problem with izalguuns leaving planet and joining starfinder society. Like alien archive articlefor them seems to almost imply it has been something they have done long (left planet and just never talk about where they came from) and even if we assume its recent thing, izalguuns are written to react warmly to returning izalguun starfinders in the "sequel" scenario to Izalraan scenario.

So for all we know, what they care about might be purely "never tell location of our home planet or that we have technology back there"? Its been weird matter for long time

Congratulations to Sarmak!

Congratulations for Sarmak for winning the vote for the new First Seeker. I will be keenly interested in what sites he chooses to explore, and I am sure that his skill will mean that the Society will take care in the discoveries he wishes to pursue. I just hope that he can address prior archaeological missteps and can help set them right and can make sure that those who seek to misuse the past can be stopped.

Maybe the large-sized First Seeker will finally get us ships with large-sized hallways on them for us morlamaws and the bears. Getting around inside a pegasus is... not fun.

Seriously. My sarcesian took Tight Fit because she's pretty skinny and flexible for a Large character, but my dragonkin is NOT.
