Loot!
Tallak picked up a nacreous gray sphere ioun stone, out of Snorri's eye socket.
Calder picked up Snorri's +1 impervious greataxe.
Matin picked up 2,000gp worth of rubies.
Kurasaviel picked up Snorri's helm - it is extremely well-made and apparently worth about 1,650gp.
Kurasaviel |
That's concerning.
Knowledge Planes seems important, anyone have that?

Cool, as it happens, I just put a point in it this level...and got a lucky role to back it up. :)
EDIT: btw, when I leveled up I couldn't figure out why I listed stealth and swim as class skills so I cut that from my sheet...but I just realized it was the Fey Thoughts alternative race ability (listed on my sheet, but I'd missed it) so I've added that back in.
Also, Calder, I'm glad you appreciated fizzician. I think that might need to become one of her regular epithets.
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Speaking of Reduce Person, I just doublechecked "You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC."
At Tiny, Clara's space is 2-1/2 ft (30"). That means when Reduced she can fit into a 15" space (squeezing)...or smaller, if she's willing to risk untrained Escape Artist checks.
...and of course now I'm adding a belt of the weasel to Clara's wish list...so that (at Small) she can squeeze through something 60/8=7.5" wide, and with Reduce Person could squeeze through something 3.75" wide. ;0)
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Yeah, magic...and rules that approximate stuff. RAW (which is how I described it above) small creatures get no advantage over medium for squeezing, so theoretically if I lent my (non-existent) belt of the weasel to Calder, he could also squeeze through a 7.5" pipe.
But yeah...magic (and stuff).

It would depend on your preferences. I run most of my games in a contiguous world (though it is Golarion, just with the consequences of a few campaigns in there) and I'd want to pursue one of my existing plotlines.
I would provide a few different plothooks, and the players I have would talk about which one they'd like to play. Then, I'd provide a few starting locations/employers/motivations for the PCs to get into the given plot hook, and you'd talk about which one you'd rather. Then, we'd make characters while I wrote up the first few scenarios.
Calder Brandson |
What are the campaigns that have affected the game world?
I would be keen on an urban campaign. Haven't played a mostly urban setting for a long time.
leinathan |
I've finished Carrion Crown, with servants of Luvick Siervage destroying the anti-undead team, stealing their stuff, and becoming pirates.
I've finished Curse of the Crimson Throne, with a total victory, though the Harrow Deck of Many Things removed two of the old heroes and a sidequest turned Korvosa into a zombie wasteland. An efreeti lord made away with the Fangs.
I've finished Shattered Star, with the powerful Pathfinders from that game mostly dead, though the campaign was overall a success, except for the near-destruction of Magnimar.
I've done variations on Kingmaker three times, with old ruined kingdoms littering the territory of the Stolen Lands' newest occupier, Haven, which is ruled by the god-king Aaron Roth.
I've done a homebrew campaign with Cheliax sending agents abroad to re-colonize a far-flung outpost in an unknown land, with the PCs from that game revealing some interesting political consequences...
Since you guys are keen, I'll start a new thread and post some plot hooks for you guys to look over, question, and discuss.

Just posting that I am still around, just nothing more to add in character beyond trying to walk inconspicuously.
Kurasaviel |
Back! Sorry thought I posted I'd be gone until today (finals and such)
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Sorry for the silence after your last update. I (player) have a nagging feeling that I lost track of one or more clues over the X-mas / new years posting slow-down. I just took a glance back over posts.
- We know that tengu took Ukshakka.
- We know that Asvig was working for a T.S. who is Tien, and who asked him to give info about Ameiko to Wodes, who'd get the job done by "somebody with more ability and promise than yourself and your stuffy Ulfen ways"
- We also know Asvig was a Rimerunner, and that the Rimerunners include a half-troll sorcerer (who tried to kill Matin).
You say a red-feathered raven? Such a creature is known to be a familiar in these parts, but not of Helva Longthews. A local sorcerer and mercenary named Goti Runecaster keeps the red-feathered raven as a familiar. He works for the Rimerunners Guild, who are a powerful mercenary organization. They're headed by a ruthless businesswoman named Thorburg Silverskorr.
- We know that our boy spy was meant to put a note under a barrel, which would be picked up by someone tien
What else do we know? What am I missing?
Options I can see at this point:
- a frontal attack on the rimerunners (sounds like a bad idea, but maybe there's a particular place to go after. We *could* go after Goti, especially if he can be found by himself...)
- gathering info about tien (or tengu!) in the area
- having the boy leave a note for his contact...and then either (a) watch the barrel and grab whoever comes for the note, or (b) have the note lead to an ambush of our own
What do you all think? And again, what haven't I remembered/considered here, that we know in character?
leinathan |
I think that you got everything. Maybe one of the other players remembers something that they know, though.
I do want to mention that the Rimerunners are a public and legal merchants' guild, with a public guildhouse that you can go to if you're seeking business there. Goti, on the other hand, isn't frequently seen in town due to the prejudice he receives, though his alternate place of residence isn't known.

Here are some spells I am considering preparing. I have two 3rd level slots, three 2nd level slots, four 1st level slots, and four 0 level slots. Gonna fill them all as I doubt once we start, we will get a 15 minute break to pick spells up on the fly.
3rd:
Deadly Juggernaut - would be good, but relies on me getting killing blows, and lasts only 5 minutes.
Dispel Magic - in case somebody needs debuffed.
Stone Shape - for random entrances/exits/traps
2nd:
Bull's Strength
Spiritual Weapon
Summon Monster II
Weapon of Awe
Death Kneel
1st:
Bless
Divine Favor
Magic Weapon
Obscuring Mist
Shield of Faith
Any suggestions?

Sorry to be so quiet, it's not for lack of interest! I'm slammed at work (including a bunch or writing and editing projects, which really eats into my mental ability to post) + house guests at home (which means I'm rarely free to post at night).
I expect to be more active again within a few days. Meanwhile, Clara is happy to brew as many Invis and Blend extracts as we need. If some of us are going with Blend, Clara can be one since her Stealth is the highest of the team, I believe.
Kurasaviel |
Okay guys, anything we want to find out from...I guess government employees?
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
I like the idea of gathering info inside. Personally, I'm drawing a blank about what to ask. It seems like I'm in good company so maybe we should go take naps and then come back around 1 AM?
Kurasaviel |
That's cool with me. I joined the group later in the campaign so I'm sure I don't possess all the information. If anyone comes up with anything I'm happy to go in. Otherwise I'll just wait until the wee hours.
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Does the guard have a weapon drawn?
Some OOC thoughts/notes:
-once someone attacks (with either Blur or Invis) they lose it. We can refresh one or two, but we probably want to minimize how many of us take attack actions
- Maybe Matin bluffs for the moment, or puts his hands up, and
- Kura knocks the guard over the head with his Sap (sneak attackin' since he's blendy).
- If that doesn't take the dude out, we may have to risk some others breaking stealth.
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Does Kura or Matin have a sap?
All Remember that if you attack you'll need another casting of Blend or Invis, so we might want to minimize how many of us strike.
Kurasaviel |
I might request, if Matin does not respond, let us see if that player is still around. If he is not, he's the only roll that failed, so it's up to the DM if he is seen or not. If he is, Kura still has a Bluff-based plan.
Tallak Sigurdarson |
Sorry for my recent absence, I had an unexpectedly hellacious stretch at work and today is the first time I've had to even hop on the boards. Getting caught up now.
Tallak Sigurdarson |
Today is my last day off before a stretch at work. If I am slowing things down during that time, feel free to DMPC my actions.
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |
Sorry to be MIA. Looking at map now and I see myself in the room Tallak and Bear busted open. I think my intent had been to post at some point poking around at the secret door he found...but I see I didn't. :-(
Now I'm not clear where I am at the moment. Should we say I went in there to investigate, and was there when the guards showed up? Your call about if I had time to discover anything.
Also, is Matin still really upstairs?
If I'm in that room and hear fighting break out, I guess I'll walk out (on the red line shown) and lob a bomb at the guard w/ red border...but can't really make a good gameplay post given that I'm confused about where I am. Happy to post/roll after you clarify...or you're welcome to roll on my behalf too.
Apologies for the delay, and for my confusion!
leinathan |
Yeah. Since you weren't around to post things during the bit where there wasn't combat going on, I'll let you decide whatever room you were in and whatever you were doing before the second shift of guards showed up. Maybe you can find something. Just include that in whatever first post you make.
Matin is indeed really upstairs. You guys were supposed to be spread out all over this building searching it for stuff (Matin is looting the guard quarters for valuables rn) when the second guard shift showed up.
