Game Master fine_young_misanthrope

Recruited as research assistants in anticipation of a rare celestial event, the PCs arrive on a remote island in the remnants of Azlant. While there, a column of shadow erupts from the sea and washes across the sky dimming the sun and unleashing shadowy monsters. Investigating the dangerous anomaly, the PCs discover a ruined Azlanti prison inhabited by vampires and learn that the column of shadow was only a test run for an ancient vampire planning to use Azlanti magical technology to blot out the sky, shielding the dangers of the sun so they can escape their island prison and reunite with their lover from the times before Earthfall.

You make your way across the dark cave. Several barred prison cells occupy this portion of the ruins.Two of the cells have been obviously destroyed, but the rest remain intact. As you get close two pale, short humanoids come out at you and begin yelling.

You pass buy something on your way to the room. This large chamber resembles the top half of a long cylinder with rounded ends and appears to be made of several overlapping metal panels. There are no obvious ways in or out of the room.

The room you are heading to. A double door leads into this chamber, where several tables appear strewn with tools. Countless blood spatters stain
the floor. Hooks hang from chains affixed to the ceiling. In the southeastern corner, a large bin has been overstuffed with meat, and a horrid smell of rotting and burning flesh permeates the room. INside you see a dero who looks at you in suprise and says in common, Come in! Come in! I have things to show you! do you enter?

Beorn throws pure light at the horror. It strikes true and right in the face of the creature. Its a grothlut. When it dies, it will rupture and explode all over! Its alos immune to acid and mental damage.

Peat attempts to scare the horror. It doesn care, and the seed pod misses!

Hannet throws a bolt of power at the creature and hits. Its barely there, but its enough!

Beorn, now knowing what the creature is, relays that it will explode and harm those who are close to it.

Friends get back before the Horror dies, for it will explode and cover you with foil stuff!

I attempted to scare the dero, not the horror. The dero is immune, but I could still try against the horror.
