Ed's Shades of Blood

Game Master fine_young_misanthrope

Recruited as research assistants in anticipation of a rare celestial event, the PCs arrive on a remote island in the remnants of Azlant. While there, a column of shadow erupts from the sea and washes across the sky dimming the sun and unleashing shadowy monsters. Investigating the dangerous anomaly, the PCs discover a ruined Azlanti prison inhabited by vampires and learn that the column of shadow was only a test run for an ancient vampire planning to use Azlanti magical technology to blot out the sky, shielding the dangers of the sun so they can escape their island prison and reunite with their lover from the times before Earthfall.

Yep! I absolutely did! Not sure how, but I didn't see it last time.Also, I updated the map. Croc is dead, so I will adjust attacks accordingly

And Hannet kills the reefclaw. It's not a pretty critical, but it does strike true right into the center of the reefclaws head.

Beorn learns these are very magic. They are creatures conjured of magic and the darkness waves probably created them. They don't serve it, but they are now part of it.

Beorn learns more about the frogs. they are not natural. Their biggest weapon is the one you saw before-phlem. Don't get hit and stay away from where it lands!

Randall knocks another arrow. It hurts, but the frog thing is still there.

The path here leads to the mouth of a large cave. The earth appears particularly well worn outside of the cave, as if many creatures have moved in and out of it. The path continues past the opening, wrapping north around the mountain that holds the cave.

A natural tunnel connects to a stone structure to the north, with a pair of large stone doors providing access. One of the doors remains ajar, kept open with a piece of stone serving as a simple doorstop. The tunnel continues for some distance to the south. A small cavern connects with the tunnel to the east. The horrid smell of waste and worse wafts into the tunnel from the cavern.

Beorn moves to the front, but before going into the cave, he brings out his torch and lights it to dispel the darkness. He then raises his shield and says to the group.

Gog's eyes water from the pungent smell, so he stops to tie his handkerchief around his face like a mask to try to reduce the smell. He them walks around and attempts to peek into the cavern.

This large chamber is littered with old furniture. Several short tables and chairs stand against the perimeter. A large, stone counter at the center of the room features a single wooden bowl resting atop it. Signs of life, including scraps of food, old books, and more, have been scattered all throughout. Stone doors lead out of the room in all four cardinal directions.
