Despite a heroic second effort, Manny is unable to grab hold of the contract devil.

The phistophilus tries to cut Manny down with one of her contracts.

Dodging her first attack, the devil feigns frightened surprise.

Then follows up with another slash.

But he is able to duck out of the way again.

The devil looks surprised as her first attack misses. "So the contract literally tries to bind me... cool. A little too forward if you ask me, I'd ask for permission first, to be honest."

Manny finally realizes the surprise was a feint. "Luckily I'm too stupid to fall for those tricks!" It's not clear if Manny is being self-deprecating or he's being honest.

The goblin and Teja banish the devil with their combined attacks Teja has one action remaining while Fin-thir wounds the last of the devils with an arrow.

Teja moves up behind the last of the devils.

Estes goes close to the remaining enemy while Charlies goes to where the scroll was dropped.

Whether or not it worked, Manny prepares his blade.

The blade misses entirely, but Manny's still hopping about. "Come on, make a move. Any move! I dare ya!"

Estes misses completely. Emmanuel tries to grab the devils, but she just wriggles out of his grasp.

Manny slices at the devil as she moves away, but it does little damage.

Hirondelle RS: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27

The goblin, narrowly misses as well.

Actually that would have hit due to courageous anthem, but even rolling max damage on a normal hit would not do enough to take out the devil.

Once out of reach of the Pathfinders, the devil teleports away.

There are domes of each color in this room, purple, red and green. What remains of the one devil that did not escape is a purple crystal key.

It is quiet here, with few ways to access these rooms, you figure it is safe to rest until you are healed.

Hero point for Hirondelle.

"See ya..." Manny waves goodbye to the devil. "I guess she took the offer." He picks up the purple key.

"Well, it's a purple key. Probably fits in the purple portal. I say we go there next."

Charlies offers healing to those that requires it. He draws out a baton, and heals them.
