Misunderstanding is when Saya wants to get laid and you just get with her on bed, just laying no action, that is a misunderstanding, this is totally wrong she says taking a jab to Eskar, nevertheless a usually good and lawful dragon bringing pain or perjury like this wasn´t normal by a long shot
She blinks at that and her cheek turn into a light shade of pink as she continues.
And this is not for a public discussion, rigth? He is perfect the way he is, he is strong, reliable and take care of the family, a good foundation for a home, you won't find a more reliable person ever. She smiles a bit at the Giant of Nagaji.
Her tone of pink recedes as the group move forward
And we have beeter things to put our hands and heart on for this mission right?
Its fine for Saya to proceed to the temple

I hear thy plight, spirit of the waters, and I do not dismiss thy suffering. Yet one wrong doth not sanctify another. The fountain shall be set right, and justice sought in kind, I swear, but the sanctity of the waters must remain untarnished
He then turns towards the calistrian woman, building up some patience
Thy tongue is ever quick with jest, Lunnette, yet there are times for those and things that are not for open ears the joy the woman felt when talking about these topics right on the open was always a mystery to him
Eskar then settle his eyes on Saya, softening the expression of his dry face Saya… thy words are more than what I deserve. If I seem strong, it is because thou art beside me. If I stand steady, it is because I know I hold thy trust. That is no small gift to me
Eskar is ready as well

Why for me? Im not the one not getting it, dear she frowns as if offended, obviusly another fake Pietr is all that, rich, handsome, excellent foundation for a family, great social standing, reliable, probably his only flaw is that he is a diabolist, but hey, chelaxian after all, nobody is perfect she shrugs Now, lets see what that dragon lady is up to, shall we?

GM 7thGate |

The Pathfinders follow the ravine through the twists and turns leading to the temple. After a short walk, the group reaches the entrance, where a large dragon covered in shimmering golden scales waits. "Greetings. I am Aoitsun, sworn guardian of balance within the Hao Jin Tapestry. Why do you come before me in this time of crisis?"
You can ask for one piece of information, plus one for every 5 points you exceed the DC.
The map is up on slide 3. If you would like to rearrange your formation, go ahead. The walls of the ravine are 20 feet high.

![]() |
Given a Sovereign Dragon is a quite a bit rarer than the average creature the group might encounter, he chooses to take more risk. Merely sitting idle and letting the average cosmic balance decide for him won't work.
Knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Regardless of what he knows or not, he knows what he will say to the dragon :
" I don't know why you decided to empty the lake, and I don't doubt your possible intent. If it's what I think, it makes sense. It just happens to have disturbed the natural home of these kappas. I'm guessing you were the one who turned them over. Can't blame you if you felt irritated. If you have the bigger picture in mind, their concern is probably totally secondary. "
" Just that whatever this is, we know what we're doing. If you could restore the water flow, it would be very appreciated. We will share responsibility if something wrong happen. In any case, who requested to do what you did ? "
He asks that last question in an nonjudgmental manner, he's just trying to understand. As he's also recalling the very adult discussion between Lunette and Saya from a couple of minutes ago, he can't help but smirk a little bit. Luckily nobody else is around because otherwise people would likely get shocked. That's what he will tell both women afterwards :
" Sometimes you wonder what happens behind closed doors with the Blakros family. One of my brothers is married to one of Hamaria's daughters since the problem with at the museum ! " He refers to the #6-02 scenario

![]() |

Mighty Aoitsun, greetings, my name is Lunnette she says to the dragon We come seeking the reason for the fountain water not flowing anymore, we have encountered a group of Kappas who have also suffered the lost of their most required waters, please tell us, have you drained the fountain? have the Kappas incurred in your wrath?
She makes a pause, letting the dragon react to her initial greeting I am sure you are aware of the importance of this fountain, and what it can do to help mitigate the effect of the crisis upon us

GM 7thGate |

Aoitsun nods slowly before answering. "Yes, the Kappa’s lake was an unfortunate loss. I am aware of the importance of the fountain. However, the Tapestry itself is in great distress. Hao Jin’s magic is failing, and the waters of the tapestry must be preserved, as they strengthen the weave that maintains the realm. I needed no other to tell me to do my duty to preserve the sacred waters, but was unfortunately required to prevent the Kappas from interfering. The shortsighted creatures think only of their own plight, and not the stability of the land itself.”
Dekantas, you can make a Perform:Oratory or Sense Motive check as part of your argument, as you are effectively flattering the dragon’s sense of duty.
Lunnette, you can make a Diplomacy check as part of your opening and line of questions for Aoitsun to uncover more information and reason with her.

29 Steps slips forward after fiddling with his Sleeves of Many Garments, shifting his robes from road-wear functional to something a bit more ornate & flowing, blue & green silks with flickering silvered threads & beads, emulating the appearance of dragon scales. He fluffs his hair a bit & makes sure that his eyebrows curl in a fashion similar to the whiskers seen on many of the dragons found in Tien Xia.
He moves a bit closer to the lungwang, holding the phoenix fan partly open in one hand while offering up a card of introduction with the other. This card is similar to the one he used before, but this time it features draconic text on one side & in Tien on the other.
My hope is to either assist with Diplomacy or to engage with Performance (Acting)

![]() |

She looks at the dragom at that some concern on her eyes, she undesrtood of what the dragon was saying, but still...
Oh mighty dragon, but is really that important to keep without this to the inhabitands of the Tapestry? Can't some of this water be spared for them to contnue living happily? I know that there are bigger pictures, but also the importance of each single soul to make the place brim with life, maybe in showing this importance to them, they might look for helping out with the Tapestry plight instead of just being there, being part of the solution not the problem?

![]() |

The nagaji lowers his head slightly, allowing his Ka Stone on his forehead to be seen, as if his words were carried by blessing and teachings of his goddess
Noble Aoitsun, thy duty is righteous, and I shall not deny the burden thou must be bearing for the Tapestry. Yet let not necessity blind us to compassion He gestures towards Saya Her words speak true. Water is sacred not only for the weave of this realm, but for the beating of every heart within it. Deny the Kappa their share, and despair shall breed where community might have been nurtured. Grant them but a portion of the waters, so they may endure and give strength in return. For even the smallest soul may strengthen the greater balance, if shown a place within it

![]() |

The gnome pulls a small slate & some chalk from his backpack & quickly writes this before handing it off to Saya.
"Sympathy is nice, but Aoitsun is focused on damage control - let them know that the Pathfinders are working to mend the tpestry from the outside & that this water source is essential to enacting those repairs."

![]() |
He was correctly guessing the why of the dragon's actions. He then explains matter-of-factly :
" As members of the Pathfinder Society, we have frequently traveled to the Tapestry in the past as adventurers and researchers seeking knowledge and uncharted lands in order to safeguard this for future generations. "
" This is what we're doing since several years at least. But what is currently happening is pushing us to conduct a whole expedition to see what is causing all that. We do have to endorse some level of responsbility because we are the de facto custodians of the Tapestry, or at least we do not try exploit it in a destructive manner.
So in a sense, you and I are indirect colleagues in this duty. "
I will go for Sense Motive as I feel it's important to understand the dragon's inner motive
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (19) + 28 = 47

![]() |

I understand your duty, however, how is preserving the waters and not letting them flow help the tapestry preservation? she points at the sky You are indeed correct the magic is failing, and without the waters flowing, I´m afraid it will fail even quicker
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (8) + 24 = 32

GM 7thGate |

Dekantas believes that Aoitsun is deeply dedicated to helping preserve and protect the Tapestry, and will respond well to acknowledgements of her role and concerns. She appears to have appreciated Dekantas' understanding of her position.
Aoitsun takes the card from 29 steps and gives him a small bow of respect before continuing to respond. "The fountain itself is in danger from the damage to the Tapestry, which is why I disabled it to keep it safe. But I have heard of your organization and the works you have done within the tapestry. If you are seeking to repair the tapestry and believe the fountain's powers can assist...perhaps I was the one too short sighted in my approach. Perhaps."
It seems that Lunnette's arguments with 29 Step's aid have helped partially convince her that perhaps she could have been in error.
You have two successes so far towards convincing her to help turn the fountain back on. Saya, you can make a Knowledge:Planes check as part of explaining the impact of the dried-up waterways on the inhabitants of the tapestry.

![]() |

K,Planes : 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30
It was a whim pf fate, something she did not found doing on purpose, for someone from Rahadum that doesn't believe in fate, or divine mysteries, she had been lucky on some ways all on her life, Such as joining the concordance. The leadership pf Ashasar has been ,,, odd but inspirint in its own way, despite the eccentricities, she couldnpt help but agree that she had learned a lot from the faction led by this odd fellow.

GM 7thGate |

Success! Aoitsun is now fully convinced to help restore the waters.
"It seems....I may have erred. I will restart the fountain, and allow the waters to flow. May they help restore this troubled land. Thank you for helping me to correct my error in judgement. Come with me, and I will show you the fountain." Aoitsun bows, then opens the door to the temple, leading the pathfinders inside.
There, she conducts a short ritual. As she completes it, water begins to gush forth from the fountain, flowing through channels and creating a fast moving stream that flows down the ravine to the lake.
Following the water, the Pathfinders find the excited group of Kappas and a Pathfinder Society repair team. ”Hurray! Thank you friends! We will spread tales of your valor and generosity across the tapestry!” One of the Kappas lowers its voice and comes close, before whispering. ”But be warned, not all is well in the Tapestry. Many residents have been having terrible nightmares. You should be on your guard for strangers, even stranger than you lot, with purple skin and evil eyes.”
With his warning delivered, the Kappa slides down the stream and submerges himself in the small, but growing lake.
The Pathfinder Repair team. ”We received word you had this area under control, and are in place to begin repairs. There's been a lot of reports of disturbances in the areas that need repairs, so we would appreciate it if you could stay and help ensure we’re able to get started undisturbed.”
This counts as 1 success for the house for mission 6. You have the option to have an optional encounter here, which would add another success for mission 6, or move on to one of the other locations.
The total time spent resolving the mission and helping make sure the repair team is able to do their work is 1 hour, with 10 minutes to travel to the next location.
Go ahead and suggest how you would like to proceed, we'll go with the first suggestion that gets two votes.

![]() |

Victoria cheers
”Hurray! This is the best team ever! But it sounds like we are needed elsewhere .“
if no particular area more urgent than the next then she would opt for the next closest

![]() |
" For purely logistical reasons, I would prefer to stay there to expand the cleanup duty further in the area, but if it sounds more important to help elsewhere, no objections. "
In practice this means he doesn't care either way, he just needs it to be decided reasonably quick enough.

![]() |

The gnome gninja gnods at the repair team's request, thinking that protecting the repair crew is the better option, at least until they get settled in to start their repairs.

GM 7thGate |

The Pathfinders assist the repair team set up for their work. While nothing attacks during this process, some additional information is uncovered from scouting and other Pathfinders passing through.
As part of helping the repair team set up, the Pathfinders find the strange bridges made of tattered cloth, that seem to lead somehow behind and through the tapestry. Each is a blended mix of the areas they connect, slowly shifting from one to the other as the bridge is traversed.
Also while assisting the repair team, the Pathfinders hear rumors that the Muckmouth tribe has been aided by several teams, and the repair teams may have finished their work there.
Its not annouced yet, but I believe the house has the 3 successes there to complete the location, so would recommend going elsewhere.
Many of the other areas have not yet had a significant pathfinder presence, and there are some reports of Behemoth Hippopatamuses approaching the lake.
All areas are equally close, since they are connected to each other through the astral plane by these tangled bridges.
Mission 2: Our ratfolk allies in Round Mountain sent out a call for help. The entire mountain is unstable, and dangerous creatures abound! Secure passage to the Pagoda of the Rat.
Mission 3: The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment has flourished since we cleansed it of corruption, but now its leader falters in the face of the tapestry’s chaos. Go to the temple and set things right.
Mission 4: The duergar of Slave Mountain are becoming more desperate and aggressive. They are taking slaves beneath the mountain and performing a disturbing ritual. Do what you can to understand their dark plot, and stop the ritual!
Mission 5: The Aspis Consortium poisoned many of the tapestry’s residents against us. Three factions have nonetheless agreed to meet with us. You must convince them to trust the Society in this desperate hour.
Optional Mission: A small herd of Behemoth Hippopatamuses has entered the area of the Lake, drawn by the renewed water flow. While not immediately threatening, they are in the way for additional repair work in the area. Removing them would help speed up the repair of the tear at the Eternal Lake.
In terms of prior experiences, one or more of you have completed a mission at the site or related to all of the missions except 4, if you want to choose one where one of you has a prior connection.
60 minutes total has passed since you entered the tapestry. Traveling to a different location will take 10 minutes. We'll go with the first mission two people suggest.

![]() |

Mission 3 is where 29 Steps has prior experience, so that'd be his choice.
Presuming we don't head off to become hippo-wranglers first.

![]() |

Victoria smiles. ” Let’s see if we can help at the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment . I have always desired to learn more about it .“

DM Carbide |

***OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT***
The repair teams have patched the rift beneath the Muckmouth. They discovered that the tapestry itself is generating massive amounts of necromantic energy around the rifts. The Muckmouth is secured!

GM 7thGate |

The Pathfinders follow the bridge connecting to the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. The tattered cloth bridge seems to take the Pathfinders through a confusing, twisted path, glimpsing many different areas of the Tapestry and the infinite void of the Astral plane before suddenly, they turn a corner and stand before a large temple.
The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, crafted of white marble, rests atop a forested hill. Three aasimars stand guard before ornate double doors that bear an image of four spheres resting inside a lotus flower. ”Welcome Pathfinders. Brother 29 Steps, it is good to see you again. Though we have recovered much since you helped defeat the Demon Dakang, recent days have produced their own troubles. Come. I will take you to our leader Zhuang, and explain further.”
The aasimar opens the doors and leads the way into the temple courtyard. The garden’s plants are withered and brown. A Tian man sits at the edge of a dried-up fountain, staring forlornly at the noble turtle in the center. The man has hazel eyes and a streak of white in his hair. Several acolytes are busy preparing incense, meditating and inscribing symbols on the fountain. On seeing 29 Steps, two of the acolytes drop their eyes and bow their heads in shame that they were once witnessed participating in demonic rituals.
The Aasimar speaks. ”This is Zhuang, our leader. After you defeated the demon, Dakang, and purged the temple of corruption, Zhuang was determined to set us on a better path. We now aid wayward travelers in the tapestry and spread Korada’s teachings. However, Dakang’s deceptions have always plagued Zhuang, and he is on the verge of abandoning the temple. He has been sitting like this for many days, and neither speaks nor eats. We have been preparing a ritual which will allow for a group to enter his mind. Will you help us with this ritual to bring him peace?”

![]() |
He doesn't like not knowing what he needs to do in that situation, but improvisation is part of his duties. He hasn't been part of that preceding missing seven years earlier, but he has a decent idea of what might have happened, and despite his misgivings, he is reasonably determined to avoid a repeat of future demonic rituals.
" Sure enough. A good demon is a demon which is staying in the Abyss as far as I'm concerned there. Where the ritual is. "

![]() |

29 Steps listens to the aasimar's telling of Zhuang's troubles, offering a firm nod of assent at the request for walking his mindscape.

![]() |

He bows his head
If his torment lies within, then within must we go to meet it. I have walked the path of doubt before, and though no prayer stirred the heavens in my hour of need, I yet found the strength to stand. If entering his mind might grant him such strength, then I shall lend mine

![]() |

Victoria smiles with eyes taking in the temple in awe.
”Totally amazing design and architecture. I hope we can stay here…wait what? Enter his mind? That sounds kinda interesting but kinda scary at the same time.“
She pauses
”Like what do we have to do to help once inside ? Will we still be us or is it more like a projection of us?“

![]() |

More scribbling on his slate.
He offers it to Victoria once he's completed it.
"Like with life & death, the being that is you is still you, just different. This likely falls somewhere in between."

GM 7thGate |

"You will be able to physically enter his mind, as if another plane or dimension. It is likely a twisted version of reality. Many of his fears, self doubts, regrets or delusions may take physical form. Try to calm, persuade or destroy them as you can. Restore balance, and when the ritual ends, you will return and he should recover."
The Acolytes conduct the ritual. Power builds as the monks chant and burn incense. Thick smoke rolls forth, and when it clears the group is standing in a crypt, flickering torches casting light on a collection of sarcophagi. The sound of stone scraping against stone echoes forth as the lids begin to slide aside, dozens of bony hands grasping the edges, seeking to break free.
For this section, each of the areas in C1 through C6 has a particular challenge. There are two approaches given for each challenge; each Pathfinder may make a check, and the highest result will be used, with every check over 10 resulting in an aid. You can also apply other spells, abilities or other approaches that seem relevant for the particular challenge; this will result in a bonus of some sort to the best check (GM discretion, but usually +2 or +4).
While we won't be using it for tactical combat as part of this challenge, the map of the temple is on slide 4 as a visual aid; you enter the nightmare in the crypts in C1.
It has been 100 minutes since the start of the adventure. The buff shee should be up to date. Some of the longer duration buffs are still active, but if you have any additional buffs you want to cast before entering Zhuang's mind, you can.

GM 7thGate |

29 Steps and Victoria react with lightning speed, slamming shut the Sacophagi before the undead can break free. There are a few muffled thumps, before the crypt quiets, and the scene starts to blur, moving through the halls. The halls of the temple are dark, locked in perpetual dusk. The air is filled with the sounds of distant screams and the howling wind.
In the interests of time, I'll move to the next challenge once the highest roll has passed the check with any aids, since any additional rolls would not increase the success.
A cloud of smoke blows past, and the Pathfinders are standing in a library full of books. C2. Two young acolytes sit facing each other on the floor. They read aloud from unholy texts, and tears of blood drip onto the pages from their unblinking eyes.

The Pathfinders spring into motion, with Lunnette trying to counter the blasphemous teachings of the unholy texts with the word of Korada. They seem only slightly responsive, as she does not know enough of Korada's teachings to counter the heretical teachings they speak.
The rest of the Pathfinders frantically search the shelves, which at first seem covered in all manner of blasphemous unholy texts. Guides to committing suicide and how to persuade or bully others into taking their own life feature prominently in the books. The voices grow louder and louder, blood beginning to pour from the acolyte's eyes. At last, Dekantas spots a thin, unlabeled tome wedged between the pages of a larger book on how to corrupt the teachings of other religions for personal gain. On flipping the unlabeled book open, the pages of the Holy Text of Korada can be seen.
When the book is retrieved, the acolytes fall silent, and stretch out their hands. When they touch the book, their tears turn clear, and they weep with relief before the scene dissolves in a cloud of incense.
As the smoke clears, the Pathfinders find themselves in a meditation room C3. Several monks perform grotesque contortions and throw glass spheres to one another while reciting the mantra, "bind my soul to Sifkesh". Countless worms carpet the floor and walls.
