"Assassins!" claims Ulvard, trying to explain to his brother-in-arms.

"We don't Look at Boats. We Look For Assassins. Assassins Look for Nairaba. Nairaba Look for Boats."

He pauses for a moment, making sure he had all that long string of sentences correct.

"Clarence knows what helps eyesight?" he asks, before quickly answering his own question. "Ale!" he hoists another tankard, spilling more of it down his already wet front than he manages to get down his throat.

Turning to the purchasing officers Ulvlard says "Ulvard is Ready To Go."

"A pack of undead as foes seems unlikely," Venture-Captain Brackett says, scratching his beard.

"Meh, this is Cheliax we're talking about." Kitsch says, hands on her hips. "If they could find a way to hire them, they would."

“We're expecting anything short of actual Chelaxian troops on Andoran soil,” Nairaba says. “The Chelaxians have a diabolical love of intrigue.”

“True. What haven’t they done?” Brackett grimaces. “They’re not above smear campaigns, assassination attempts, soul extraction and third-party actions through cat’s paws.”

"Oooh, I almost forgot!" Kitsch starts pulling things out of a bag. "We've got our normal Pathfinder Provisions for all of you, plus some other goodies."

She pulls out a platinum choker engraved with writing in the diabolic language. "Here's a choker of elocution in case they send devils against us."

"Now, where did I put the rest?" Kitsch crawls halfway into her bulging bag and grabs a few more items. "Here's some useful consumables: a dragon turtle scale, an effervescent ampoule, and a moderate pair of blast boots." Kitsch mimes explosions coming off one's feet.

Nairaba nods. "There have to be some advantages to traveling with the heads of Procurement and Supply. Are you ready to see some ships?"

Nairaba and Kitsch lead the way down the five blocks from the Brine Shark’s Bistro, down a steep incline to the dockside office of Olad the Alright Shipwright. Soon, the sounds of the Shipyard district grow more raucous. Gangs of workers sing Consortium lumberjack chants as they haul
timber, and a cacophony of saws and hammers fills the air as craftsmen put together hulls in the dry docks. Augustana is sultry in summer; Nairaba and Kitsch fan themselves but heat radiates off the streets. The occasional cool breeze blowing off the Great Salt Harbor brings some relief not just from the heat, but from the mingling smells of sweat, sawdust, oil, and tar.

Olad is a tanned and muscular halfling who greets your Pathfinder delegation as if you were all long lost friends, pumping your hands, paws, bony fingers and even Bob's tentacles. He expresses his joy in meeting all of you. “Buying ships for a navy, yes? Why then, you’ll be needing lots of ships! Small ships! Tall ships! So many ships, and Trustworthy Olad has them all for you!”

Artemios takes a healing potion, a little concerned that he's probably going to need it. He has less need for the other consumables since he sees no need to avoid falling into the water, but will take something if left unclaimed.

Hector was quite silent. The context was too complicated for him. His short term memory was almost non existant since his revival. It is wonder he vaguely remember what he done.

But Ships? That was experience, he quite knew about those. And before we depart he asked Kitsch for a low-alloy (silver) and bought 3 holy water and merciful balm (20 gp). They were fighting devils after all.

The Pathfinder Society team inspects the ship from the crow's nest to the bilges. Despite the garish paint and residual perfume, the Pert Peach is seaworthy and well-built. Artemios's keen nose can detect part of the ship's history, and smells the tell-tale smells of mammalian reproductive activities in just about every room. Perhaps this was a party ship?

But Hisaki and Ulvard realize that while this ship would make an excellent passenger or hospital vessel, the ship is much too slow and unwieldy for the rapid transportation the Society often needs. This is no warship.

Nairaba nods as you give him your assessment of the ship. "Hmmm. Do you have any faster ships?"

Olad nods, and you're walking through the shipyard again. As you're traveling, you see quite a few aimless sailors wandering the dockyard, and Olad pushes roughly through them to clear a path for you.

The Scurvy Scamp is a lean, two-masted brig. Olad smiles as he takes you aboard. “Okay, so you want fast, you want lean, you want this ship! She’s fast and can be used for discreet merchandise,” Olad pauses to wink at Nairaba and Kitsch, “or for stealthy drops of soldiers on an enemy coast.”

Hector and Clarence both realize that the Scurvy Scamp is indeed seaworthy and fast... But the rudder is in terrible shape and needs replacement. Hisaki is convinced that this is indeed a warship that would be excellent for lightning raids and swift getaways, if the Society can get that rudder replaced in time. Hisaki's best estimate is that the repairs would take a few weeks. If the Society could get a discount on the ship that takes in mind the cost of repairs... this could be a very good purchase.

Olad pauses, and says, "You want something more war ready? Follow me!"

As you travel to the third ship, the loitering sailors have gotten a bit rowdier. Some have opened a crate of Sauerton Red and are passing bottles around. The sailors sit on the docks, drinking and watching the nearby ships. Olad detours around a pair of sailors who are stretched out on the dock and then complains, “Those louts are getting in the way of honest work.” He turns to the sailors and shakes a fist. “Hey! Ulvard and Clarence think that the ship is lucky since it comes with its own squeaking rations.

Hisaki and Quqotengir, suspicious of these loitering sailors, moves onto the dock just in case they try anything. Hector is a bit distracted from his own inspection, and seeing Hisaki moving out onto the deck, applies a merciful balm to his own weapon.

Bláinn and Artemios do a thorough assessment, and come to the same conclusion as Ulvard and Clarence -- but for different reasons. This is a lucky ship. It's been through multiple combats, has good structure and despite the dirt and rats, is ready for service now. Even more importantly, the dirt and rat issues don't require skilled labor to fix. That issue could be taken care of while the ship is under sail by assigning the task to a bunch of Pathfinder initiates as part of their training.

As we're rolling you into combat, I'd like to call your attention to the Player handout on Slide 7. It has a number of different options that you can perform on your turn, from using an action to Save the Shipyard (and preventing those poor dockworkers from dying or losing their livelihoods to having the shipyard burn up) to using two actions to Call for Surrender (and I will let you know when that option becomes available for a creature. As a note, the Gorillas are particularly well-trained and they can be asked to surrender just like the goblins.)

One of you each round can also flank with Olad. He's a feisty halfling, and can move anywhere you can. It's his shipyard. He knows how to get around!

Spurned into action, his trusty steed "Quqotengir" - named for a terrible storm - races like an ill wind over to the battle's developing front, and awaits his next orders - and the others!

Anyone who wishes to move as a reaction with Hisaki may do so, if you wish Hisaki to move you into place in future rounds, please give him explicit permission. So far, he only has permission from Ulvard and Artemios.

He commands his loyal steed, who misses as he attacks the Blue Gorilla.

Hector, following the call to regroup, moves closer to the commander. The square south of him. He is now the authorization to move Hector anywhere the commander wants. Hector doesn't feel he could in danger by following his order.

Action 1:Save the shipyard. He attempts to throw a burning dockworker into the water by gripping him/her by their clothes and spin him/her around him to gain momentum. (everything must be done with panache of course)Hector's Athletics (E): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 ;+1 circonstance to grab, trip and shove

Action 2 : leap 20 ft . Clustered by his allies, that are blocking his way to the action. He leaps over them, doing a completely useless somersault with it.

Action 3: strike (red goblin monkey) Just after the somersault while still being in the air. He throws his light hammer at Red Goblin Monkey’s face, so that he catches the returning hammer as soon as Hector lands. The Blue Gorilla gives a frightening display, pounding on her chest and screaming at the top of her lungs.

◈◈ "Ooook-oooook-ooooook!" (DC 22)

Because of Hisaki's banner, your team gets a +1 to your saves vs Fear!

Artemios the Radiant's Will (E): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Clarence the Hunter's Will (E): 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 1 = 12 Success vs Fear = Crit

Hector's Will (E): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18

Artemios and Bláinn are unimpressed by the Gorilla's Frightening Display, while Hector and Hisaki are Frightened 1 and Clarence and Ulvard are Frightened 2.

Then the Blue Gorilla smashes a fist into the Frightened Ulvard's face.

Blue fist (agile, reach 10 feet): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Bludgeoning: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9

The attack hits only because Ulvard is frightened. Does this make Ulvard angry? I bet it does!

Then it is time for the Green Gorilla to swing into action! He grabs onto a rope hanging around the dock, and swings over to Bláinn! "Oook?"
