So your character uses magic, interesting nice I am looking forward to seeing what you have so I can spin something up and pass it by you to see what you think. Also with that being said if you were to make this D-Bee what would you have had them focussing on -- class wise. I want to make sure I am starting down the proper path.
Well, I don't want to be too prescriptive about the character you're creating, but you could go for something not 'magic' but still magical, like a psionic, a mystic, something like that? Or Maybe go with more of a focus on the mundane instead as an Operator, City Rat, something like that-- Faustus has defined himself solely by his magical abilities, which he has worked since birth to attain, while your psionic abilities are just something you have, ultimately a single part of you, useful but not your profession, your life, anything like that.

EltonJ - I know you said you were looking for 4 PCs, but I really love SW and RIFTS. It looks like you have 5 already, any chance you'd be ok with 6? If not, and someone drops out in the future, please keep me in mind, thanks!
Since there's already a Cyberknight, I might do a Super, unless two Cyberknights are fine (I've always wanted to do a Cyberknight - I've been a Cyberknight in two games that closed down very quickly, which was kind of frustrating).

Well . . . I think we can fit you in. A super or cyber-knight would work.

I haven't checked it over since I created it two years ago yet, but it was built with SWADE rules. Let me know if you see anything amiss.
I made Hero's Journey and Narrative Hook rolls back then - can I use them, or would you rather I re-roll them for this game?
How many SPP would a Supers get for a RIFTS game?

Supers can get up to Tier 3, and your Cyberknight can still use the Hero's Journey and Narrative Hook rolls. As long as they are from SWADE. :)
Sorry Zen, I couldn't get to you earlier.

EltonJ - what's your take on Flight in Supers? Is it a Move action, so I can travel up to the listed Pace of my Flight speed, and then take Actions?
If I took Healing with the Limitation of Self (which is far less than the "half as effective" required for the -2 penalty), could I have it for 1 SPP?
I recently house-ruled in a Supers game that I'm running that for Heightened Senses/Hearing, the "can hear a whisper up to a mile away" works only as long as there's no completely enveloping barriers (buildings) around you or the sound. But, if you put your ear up to a wall, you can hear what's being said on the other side, even if it's a whisper, because the vibrations can travel thru the wall's material. What do you think about that?
What's the Cone modifier for Ranged Attack all about? If I *don't* take it, are my normal attacks Cones or single-target?
Thanks!

A1. I currently have it as a move action.

A2. No. You cannot take self healing for one Super Power Point.

A3. Let me check the RAW first. According to the RAW: The character can hear a whisper up to a mile away if he knows to listen for it. It also gives him +2 to Notice rolls based on hearing.
I think your House Rule works.
What's the Cone modifier for Ranged Attack all about? If I *don't* take it, are my normal attacks Cones or single-target?
A4. Let me check the RAW again. According to my copy of SWADE (page 93) there isn't a cone modifier for Ranged Attacks, so I'll check the Super Powers Companion again.
I think it depends on what you take as a power. Energy control ranged attacks and matter control ranged attacks would happen like a cone.
A4. Normal attacks don't count as cones, but a single target. See page 93 of SWADE for clarification.
Thanks!

I posted a question on Reddit HERE about the 0-SPP Cone Modifier for Ranged Attack, and got a very definitive answer that makes perfect sense, and explains the 0 cost :
Single target ranged attack is the default. If you want, you can take the free Modifier to PERMANENTLY change the power to a Cone.

I read that REDDIT. He actually suggested you take the "selective" modifier with that cone as well.
EDIT:
Can you get your character created by the end of next week?

Yes, but that's only if you do take the Cone Modifier, which I won't, so I'll just be hitting a single target. If I even go with the Super, which I haven't decided yet.
End of next week is no problem, I'll let you know when I'm ready.

I've decided : here's the Cyber-Knight. I checked, the Hero's Journey and Narrative Hooks came from SWADE.
If you see this less than an hour after I posted it, I'm still making formatting changes to the PC.
P.S. - "RATN" is my acronym for "Ranged Attack Target Number". It's normally 4, but there are so many things that change the attacker's Shooting bonus that as a GM, I moved them into changing the target's RATN for consistency.

Okay, we have everyone, we can finally start this Saturday.
Adventures begin in New Salt Lake.
I was going to define a Supers town, so that Zen could have a place to get started from. If he was going to start with a Super. However, since he is starting with a Cyber Knight, I don't have to worry about it right now.
Although I could buy San Angelo and Skraypers, and combine the two.

I only have the RIFTS Player's Guide. In any other source material, is there such a thing as a jet pack (not powered armor) that would let a PC fly? And not just short horizontal jumps. And if so (and I'm cringing in advance), how much does it cost?
I'll have to check my books. I'm sure there is a jet pack available in one of them. :)

I'm playing in 4 different SW campaigns at present, so I may be at my limit, but I'm a sucker for the fun of creating new characters. Plus I'm recently retired and so I have more time for gaming. Before I do more, however, here are the books I currently have. Let me know any other book(s) I would absolutely need to create a character.
SWADE (4th and 5th printings)
SW Horror Companion
SW Science Fiction Companion
Pathfinder SW companion
Pathfinder SW Core Rules
SW PF Advanced Player Companion
SW RIFTS The Tomorrow Legion Players Guide
SW Super Powers Companion
SW Interface Zero
SW Interface Zero Player's Guide
SW Deluxe
The profile I as posting with here is a Savage World character I ran in a similar type campaign built around the Interface Zero SW Campaign set. I might be interested in recreating her for this world.

You have enough books to create a character. That's plenty, although we aren't using Interface Zero.

Looks like the PCs in play include 2 cyberknights and a MARS Power Armor jock. The elven gunfighter has withdrawn and the Ley-Line Walker appears to have as well, with no posts in over month after dotting.
It also looks as if everyone is starting as Novice level, except the MARS characters, who start at seasoned.
I'll start with the RIFTS Player's Guide and check in as I have concepts and/or questions to report.
