Boomer's SR check works, blasting her with acid!
Reflex: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
She avoids the worst of it, and another aeon stone glows as she seems to have some resistance to the acid.
Korrigon hits, though the same aeon stone flashes, and it's giving her resistance to fire and electricity, too!
She lashes out with her tail in a retaliatory strike as Korrigon attacks.

Reaper sneaks over to the containment field. Computers or Engineering check, and you would have to do a separate one for each of the two containment fields.
Madakoko fires and misses twice. Verrek runs in but also misses.
Boomer hastens the group!
I think Boomer might also realize that with the aeon stones embedded in her actual body, she is weak to a dispel magic spell cast on her.

"Cheating? You seem to be under the mistaken impression that we are here to play games," Boomer says, using their vocal modulator to make their voice sound deeper and more stern. The android's flat affect robs Lunesha of much of the satisfaction of seeing her tormentor writhing in pain, as the single bolt hits and is half-absorbed by Boomer's own protective magic.
The technomancer circles around to land lightly on the stage. "I'll need to remember this little trick when we finally face your boss. The attacks by Verrek and Reaper both hit, and the combined damage nearly takes her down. She looks ready to murder someone with her last breath.
Betsy Blast, off to the side, tears streaming down her cheeks fires off one more trio of magic missiles and the ramiyel collapses, for good this time.
Sorry to let the NPC get the kill steal! Lunesha had 2 hp left after you were all done.
As Lunesha falls, runes carved in her scales flare, and the light around the Vault Lord grows brighter. “Such malice in her soul. How invigorating. We applaud your victory, Starfinders. The greater triumph is ours, and the final pieces in place. We honor our promise and grant you leave to take the prisoners and depart.”
The Vault Lord vanishes. Their soldiers escort you and the other Starfinders to the exit of the building. Outside, soldiers line the walkways and sidewalks, their presence funneling you all to the entrance to Vault-23A.

Mk 3 is undoubtedly overkill with the fight over, but it's what I intended, and Boomer's professional paranoia is still high right now.
The normally serene android openly scowls at the Vault Lord's haughty words. When the psychic projection vanishes, they mutter a vow: "Next time, this ends, you deluded, overweening monster."
As the Starfinders are escorted out, Boomer does their best to assess the condition of the rescued team as best they can while on the move. They seem particularly interested in Betsy Blast, who got a taste of vengeance at the end, but is obviously quite traumatized.

GM Kate |

Merin, Igrim, Anavay, and Betsy are on edge as you walk out, jumping every time a soldier moves. But the soldiers do honor the Vault Lord's promise and allow you to leave in peace.
Once you are outside the hatch, the four of them break down, hugging each other and crying. Merin regains their composure first.
"I can't thank you enough for the rescue, but let's hurry back to the Lodge before they change their minds!"
Before you can do that, a wobbling maintenance drone approaches you, speaking in a strange cadence and mix of voices. “We greet you, designation ERROR. Memory check in progress. Starfinders. Standard behavior indicates test subject removal. No test subjects detected. Scanning. ERROR. Sensors damaged. We have a… dead spot? What is the status of simulation: Vault-23A? Explain!”
The drone presumably reports back to the guiding intelligence that runs Salvation's End.

![]() |

"I believe that the simulation is complete." Reaper tries to make haste. He tries to contact the Venture-Captain in case they can't make it back to give a full report.

![]() |

"The Vault Lord's forces invaded the simulation, and we believe they have abducted the population for purposes unknown," Boomer reports to the drone. "we have deleted the lieutenant in charge of the invasion, but her remaining forces were too numerous for us to safely pursue further investigation."

![]() |

To the drone "The Vault Lord also claimed greater victory after we defeated their lieutenant and that its pieces were now all in place, so I'd expect near-term issues from them"

GM Kate |

The drone pauses for a moment, then responds "“Vault-23A simulation over. External contamination present. Vault purge to begin in 10 minutes.”
Merin says, "That sounds like our cue to get as far from here as possible!"
Kunoris Vex sends transportation to pick you up on hearing from Reaper, and Kashtee and a dwarf named Odolf are soon there to get you in two armored transports.
When you get back, Venture Captain Vex is waiting for you in the vehicle bay, nervously pacing. "What happened?"

![]() |

To the Venture-Captain "It was a set-up by the Vault Lord. A lieutenant had captured the vault and previous team and it took a bit to extricate the team. The original vault inhabitants were kidnapped by the vault lord, for some unknown purpose. It seems to claim it had achieved its desired objective even after we'd defeated its lieutenant. Don't know if that was just getting cloning samples of the original team, the vault inhabitants or both. But there were too many forces for us to push ahead further. The guiding intelligence has been notified... we hope. That drone was a bit sketchy." More quietly to V-C Vex "Given they cloned the team once, we had no ability to completely confirm this is the actual team, so you may want to keep them to innocuous tasks and under observation for a bit. Either way, they've been through the wringer, so will need some help recovering."

GM Kate |

Vex nods at Korrigon's final comment and taps his nose discreetly.
“The Vault Lord was a step ahead of us. I’m sorry I underestimated them. Well done surviving the trap and getting everyone back in one piece. Agents like you are the bedrock of the Society. Now there’s the mystery of the missing vault inhabitants. I think it’s time we took the offensive, rescue the vault’s missing citizens, and poke a hole in that villain’s ego. I hope I can continue to count on you."
Merin, Igrim, Anavay, and Betsy try to spend as much time with you as possible before you leave Salvation's End, asking for training, tips, and stories. They ask Vex for long-term stationing at the lodge for another shot at the Vault Lord and hope to see you again soon.
Betsy insists that all of you pose for a team holo-photo in front of the lodge, which she posts alongside the lodge mission board and to her social media feeds. Before you leave for Absalom Station, Merin pulls you aside and thanks you one more time for saving the lives of their team.

![]() |

"I've seen too much of the Vault Lord's villainy to be satisfied with anything less than their total defeat," Boomer says gravely to Vex. "You can count on me to see this through."
Boomer gladly spends time to get to know the rescued team better, and assist in their further training.
