My last post was ninja'ed by the GM providing the successful conclusion of the mission.

Xoni takes the lead in explaining to the lovers what has been going on in their absence and why the Starfinders were brought in. She hopes they will try to help their community learn to put prejudices aside and stay open to learning that the Red Corridor folks might not be the cause of all their troubles.

Xoni does not have a trained profession skill, so I guess she can't make a day job. It would be nice if characters could make a roll based on their theme instead of profession. Soldiers get precious few skill ranks to spend so at first level, it's hard to justify spending one on a skill that likely doesn't come up in play except the day job roll. I'll add a profession skill (mercenary) at 2nd level I guess.

Nobody believed in my research! Unethical! Unsafe! Illegal! They said. I have retreated here, to perform my field tests. People get harmed, is what they said. What is a bit of harm in the name of progress? Irrelevant, that's what it is.

But now, there was this power outage, and you intruded he says, pointing at Rahosa and Nindir and everything is gone now!

Antethriss looks at him for a while as if he's going to stab him anyway. A long hard look. Then he silently walks away.

Theseius also has nothing to say.

Just before they depart, the team is invited to a formal ceremony dinner aboard the Idari, where the Doyenate present them with the highest accolades.

Doyenate’s legal system begins the process of investigating the many charges against Hynes, the evil scientist, which include unethical and illegal experimentation on animals, unauthorized imports of live cargo, creating dangerous conditions that harmed other Idari residents, and failing to report deaths aboard the ship.

Cohomir is overjoyed to see his daughter again, embracing her and weeping openly. At first, he’s cold to Rahosa, but once Rahosa has the chance to tell his side of the story, Cohomir grudgingly begins to accept the relationship. My chosen way of living might seem unappealing to a young person like my daughter he says but it might just be me being afraid afraid of losing her. Now, Nindir has the option of remaining at home for awhile until she’s saved up some money or eloping with Rahosa right away. Regardless, she and her family stay in touch rather than becoming estranged. Cohomir’s prejudice against the people of the Red Corridors erodes as he gets to know Rahosa, and he spreads his changing beliefs to many of his neighbors.

I'll be setting up the rest and do a proper mustering call, but I got a bout of the good old 'rona that's been going around here, which is currently limiting my energy.

Given that my immune system is run by Hellknights (brutal but efficient), and I think the bad days are behind me, all should be fine soon.

Technically you and the couch provoke: When you threaten a space and the opponent moves or is moved out of that space

Thats interesting, I have never seen encumbered used as an offensive condition - I’ll be noting it my feedback about the scenario, kinda getting over the gotcha rule-chicanery, suspect I’ll have some blunt words

You've managed to avoid the real kicker so far - dispelling that fear spell was a good action. The other table I'm running didn't have that resource and are now running the combat with three out of five in panic mode, including all front-liners. What a mess.

What’s irritating about employing an encumbered condition is that there’s no counter or restorative like the rest of the debuff conditions because in 7 seasons of Starfinder society and all the rule books written it isn’t a condition you can apply. I think I just got run over by a designer driving a Fiat.

I take your point about the Fear. That would be irritating as all heck. That says it seems they just drop the front liners in a hole and take them out of combat anyhow. No save is stupid.

I will insert a remark that I am satisfied with everything that is happening in the game .)

Blame galactic magic: Weight of ages

Aha - gross. Kinda broken, mass damage and a condition that can;t be removed, not a strength debuff either which is cheeky, but the other effects are that it turns off abilities that wont work if you are actually encumbered - eg a jetpack doesn't work because you are too sad.

Fair enough then.

Please tell me what Tier (high or low) you prefer - it matters for this encounter (of course).

I prefer high tier, but I don't want to impose it on others.

I'm good with high tier, I will just stay behind :D

Just throwing it out there (well here first) - SF2 playtest content.

Is it just me, or have the scenarios recently swung back from being very short to running quite long?

They are finally producing solid content and crunch storylines again. Season 4 was a bit ordinary, season 5 was shocking (cost us a chunk of our player base), season 6 was a significant upswing and the storytelling in S7 seems to be fantastic - especially as they wrap story arcs.

Sorry for my unexpected absence this last few days.
My last weekend hasn't happened as I expected and then work hit hard as well as Real Life with my two little boys.

I have been dragged into a local run of this scenario (VC has to VC) so will be eating a replay :) We're putting in a a big effort locally with S7 being the final season and getting playtests for SF2 organised - and the next few cons sorted (including my "I swear my final ever" con on a cruise ship).
