One caveat re this game--since I'm also the House GM for the PFS1e special, the pace will probably be a little slow for the first half of Outpost.

All--please fill in your relevant data on the slides, including a token for yourself and any companions/eidolons/familiars you may have.

I've placed Mrs. Crinkle (barbarian) in the middle of the marching order. She could move up or back, depending on what the party needs. RP-wise, she's more likely to be chatting than keeping pace.

DM Carbide |

If you haven't already done so, please fill in your information on the slides and in RPGChronicles. Thanks!

Eldryon and Deerslicer, you're the only ones who haven't yet.

DM Carbide |

FYI, we're playing in the higher level range.

DM Carbide |

Does that mean that 2nd level characters get a level bump?
No; only 1st level characters would get bonuses.

DM Carbide |

Please put your exploration activity in the slides. Desmond and Deerslicer, you still need to fill out the table in the slides.

Done. Shields up!
Dokk nods knowingly. "Ah, you're going to see the mighty Velashinaz! I haven't had the pleasure, but we're recently come from her lair. Purepurin offered us a tour. I learned a lot about creating alchemical foods while the rest of the crew upgraded some of the traps in the vaults. If you show me your map I can point out a shortcut for you. This might help, too!" She hands Mrs. Crinkle a slip of parchment on which is written the word "persimmon." "I don't know what it's for, but Purepurin wrote it down."
What check would we roll to determine if the map shows an actual shortcut, vs. some baloney that'll eat up our time?

DM Carbide |

Survival, Lore relevant to the terrain, or Perception to Sense Motive.

If you'd like me to drop the juvenile humor, let me know ooc so I know it's not just good ol' fashioned RP. :)
All good. Nikma takes things a little seriously compared to other characters.

DM Carbide |

Aww, Deerslicer, you didn't like the token I put up for Gracie? She's smarter than your average bear, after all.

DM Carbide |

I'm on the road this weekend, and will be slow to post.

DM Carbide |

The rat is on the map.

![]() |

sorry, kid sick nights are sh*t try to recover from that...
Sorry to hear that. Here's hoping they recover soon and no one else falls ill.

![]() |

@DM Carbide: If one were to grab the jar, turn it upside down, and shake it, would that require an attack roll to see if the rat falls out? How many actions would that take?
◆ Pick up jar, ◆ Flip over and shake
Or
◆ Pick up jar, ◆ Flip over, ◆ Shake
...Asking for a friend.

DM Carbide |

One action to grab, one action to try to dislodge the rat.

DM Carbide |

Slow to post this weekend...I'm at an SF con.

No injury here. But if anyone can cast prestidigitation, feel free to aim it at Mrs. Crinkle's clothes. Otherwise it'll be a long, smelly ride back to civilization once we're through here.

DM Carbide |

Zac, can you fix the typo in your header? Every time I see it my inner 8-year-old giggles, and it's distracting.

DM Carbide |

It was the obvious misspelling of "aasimar."
(Carefully checking to make sure I spelled it right.)

DM Carbide |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

I had a busy couple of days at work, especially today--too many in-person meetings, and for some reason people take it amiss when you pull out your phone and try to post in the middle of one of those. Who knew?

![]() |

FYI: I am going away this weekend on a camping trip and will be away from computers. I will likely have signal but limited ability to post on my phone and with little time to do so. I will check all of my games before I leave and since it's just the weekend I hope for minimal disruption.
I will return early evening on Sunday (US/pacific) time and catching up and resume posting.

Having reviewed the chase rules, I'm going to have to retcon things a bit--I didn't realize that extra successes in a round count against the next obstacle.
Obstacle 1, Round 1: 4 successes, 1 critical success - pass!
Obstacle 2, Round 1: 1 success (from Deerslicer)
Obstacle 2, Round 2: 5 successes (Nikma, Mrs. Crinkle, Desmond, Eldryon, Zac)
Obstacle 3, Round 2: 1 critical success (from Deerslicer)
Obstacle 3, Round 3: So far, it's successes from Nikma and Zac (running off of the d20 from his Athletics check), a second success from Deerslicer, failures from Desmond and Eldryon, and Mrs. Crinkle knows her limitations and doesn't try.

DM Carbide |

Sorry about the delay; I had a work emergency on Wednesday that carried over to the end of the week (and the recovery is probably going to take all next week). You're getting close to the end of the chase, though.

![]() |

Get the rest you need. Mrs. Crinkle can keep everyone entertained while you're recuperating. [grins devilishly]

DM Carbide |

With that, it's all over but for some roleplay and a cutscene...and not a moment too soon! I'll get this reported and the chronicles out in the next day or so. Thank you all for playing! This is only the second time I've run 2e, so I'm still figuring things out--hopefully that didn't interfere too much with your enjoyment of the game.

DM Carbide |

Chronicle sheets!
Let me know if anything looks off, and check the reporting in a day or so.

It did not :) Thanks for running this GM!

Great game, everyone! Good job running it, GM Carbide. Thanks for letting me run amok!
After the meeting, Mrs. Crinkle offers to teach the kobolds how to set up little catapults throughout the caverns to fling rocks at rats.

DM Carbide |

It looks like the game has been reported. I'm going to set it inactive after I roll downtime for the character who got the GM chronicle, but I'll keep your chronicles available at the links above as long as I have space on my Google drive. Thanks again for playing!
