"Whew! That was a close one, " Mirian says, though she seems to be casually kicking a dead sea devil off the end of her sword. "I suggest you take some time to heal and rest. We don't know if we're safe yet and there's no sign of the other ships."

The sun is starting to rise once the sea devils are all defeated, and the lookout in the ship's crow's nest calls down to the rest of the crew that they've sighted a small village on the distant coastal beach. The crew manages to direct the ship ashore in hopes that whoever lives in the village can lend the adventurers materials and grant them shelter while they work on repairs. The Pixie's lookout searches the horizon for signs of the Glorious Payoff and the Sea Sparkle, but these ships are nowhere in sight. Mirian Raas and Eras the Needle focus their efforts on marshalling crew members and necessary goods to land. As the Grinning Pixie drifts onto the sand, a dozen figures approach, illuminated by the light of the rising sun. As you descend from the ship, they try speaking to you in hisses and clicks. They appear to be lizards who walk upright.

"Hello," says Cascading Rapids, holding up his empty hands, "I do not understand you and you probably do not understand me. I am trying to seen non-threatening by speaking in a calm voice and displaying that I am unarmed, though it doesn't really matter what I'm saying and the gesture is frankly deceptive as my empty hands are actually quite dangerous. Oh dear. I hope you can't understand me, anyway."

This village has been on this coast for centuries. Millennia, perhaps? We can trace the name Kihirat back to three families of iruxi farmers and fishers who rebuilt here after a severe storm of some kind, though records are spotty regarding what may have been here before then. Is there anything else you need?"

Henri gives Nazsnaga a smile in response. Henri then interprets to his allies what they are hissing and clicking. He replies to them with names only because he can't speak their language, introducing his allies one-by-one.
He turns his back and whispers to his allies, "What now? I can understand them but I don't speak their language."
