I am assuming one of you closed the door to the staff room? Who? Did they do a Stealth check or quickly closed it?

Ujio failed to close it, sadly stuff happens.

As Ujio tries to scan the card, he answers Kenzo observation about duct tape and padding. "The other security office had riot gear, this one may as well." furrowing his brow as the door doesn't open, he's about to ask Nikola to try the security guards key when he hears the I.D.A increasing his security. Walking into the security room, Ujio moves towards the interior door, using his newly improved key card to attempt to open it as well.

So are all the openings on the exterior doors or are some of them windows?

"What exactly is that thing?" Nikola asks, pointing at the IDA. "Why does our school have something sophisticated? It seems almost military. Not-" she adds quickly, "That Japan would have any sort of military tech. Especially not in a school. But still."

I was waiting to answer to see if anyone else was going to chime in.

Turning back towards Nikola, Ujio pauses. He'd not considered why a 'common' radio would have this technology attached to in, nor why there would be a lab under the building. It dawned on him that as a student, his father would visit and be missing for a period of time. But when he'd asks all his father would say is 'He was walking the grounds.' Several of his father's companies were tech companies and many of them had military contracts. Shaking his head, he realized he was just being paranoid. Answering Nikola, "I don't know." Feeling the need to justify his ignorance he adds, "I'm just a janitor."

Nodding to far door in the security room, "Let's see if this goes outside."

Most exits are to the exterior.

As you tap your security card to the lock it unlocks, revealing an elevator.

The AI replies simply with, "That is classified."

Chuckling at the A.I.'s response Ujio thinks that would be exactly what a computer programed by his father would say. Pausing a moment, he looks at the keypad for the elevator, rubbing his chin as he considers it. Turning back towards Nikola and Kenzo, he recommends. "Let us finish securing this first level then we will consider the elevator again."

As he moves out of the security room he resecures the door, gesturing towards the south, "We should check Vice Principal Oyaka office." Moving that way, he pauses and listens at the Vice Principals door.

The elevator key pad, are there buttons that go up and down, or just one or the other. When he takes perception for the vice principals door, is it possible he may still hear sounds from the staff room?

"Do you think the Vice Principal would have stayed here?" Kenzo says as he moves to support the janitor.

Nikola looks longingly at the elevator but drags herself to follow Ujio. Some of the adrenaline is wearing off, and her body started a deep ache that was going to turn into agony soon, but there was still more work to be done.
"I wouldn't count on it," she says to Kenzo.

Ujio does hear some muffled noises coming from the teacher's lounge. Nothing can be heard through vice principal Oyaka's office.

Nikola puts her ear up to the door.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

What sort of sounds from the other side of the door?

She doesn't hear anything at vice principal Oyaka's office.

But you do hear some shuffling coming from the front office and some strange muffled noise coming from the teacher's lounge.

Chuckling at Nikola's answer to Kenzo's question, Ujio hears the moaning coming from the teacher's lounge. Nodding back the way they came, "Let's close the teacher's lounge door and mark it, then check on the vice principal." shifting the mop handle in his hand, Ujio walk back towards the student lounge intent on shutting the door.

IF he is able to close the door he will wait for Nikola to mark it as she had the previous doors. I'll wait to see if we actually get the door shut before I continue :)

Stealth checks please! I guess I will roll them this time.

Ujio quietly gets to the door seeing a pile of blood spilling out into the hallway. You see a backpack soaked in the stuff is holding the door open. What will you try to do? Kick the backpack, pick it up, slide into the lounge, or wait for others to act. Just a few options! Depending on your action will be the check you will need to do.

Kenzo stands back and waits to see if Uji can push or pull the bag out quietly. He makes some motions with the bat as if he was pushing the bag in, but lets the janitor take the lead.

Nikola hangs back quietly. This is not really her forte.

Seeing Kenzo motion with the bat and watching Nikola stay back, Ujio wonders how good the undead's hearing is. Having no desire to bend over to pick up the bag, exposing the back of his neck to anything that bites, he deciding to be as safe as possible. Pointing at the bag with his mop handle he gestures towards the mop, motioning with it like a hock player making a slap shot. Then he points to Kenzo and the door, holding up his right hand he counts with his fingers, one, two three, then he lips 'go.'

Moving quietly along the he places the bottom end of the mop handle right beside the bag, waiting as Kenzo move towards the door. Keeping his right hand at the top of the mop and using the left as a fulcrum, he counts off, starting with his pinky finger: One, two, three. Quickly wrapping all of his fingers around the mophandle he thrust the bottom at the pack trying to force it back into the room.

Not sure how many rolls you need, I'm assuming at least one to slapshot the bag back in. I'll make a blank roll, feel free to make it whatever it needs to be with whichever modifiers.

He moves forward with stealth, the shove of the bag happens without any extra noise and the door swings shut. The lock pad quickly turns from green to red. Then there is bashing on the other side of the door.

Nikola carefully steps forward and etches the warning sign again on this door as well.

Stealth checks into the front office or not!

Opening the fire doors to the South and you find a grisly sight. No bodies can be seen but there are blood splatters on the walls as the floor is covered in blood.

Sorry, not sure what you mean. We'd investigated the vice principal's door, but not opened it yet. Is this relating to that or to the double doors we just opened? Edit: I see the southwestern most office is called the front office so I'm assuming it's pertaining to the double doors.

As the bag flies back into the teachers' lounge Ujio nods watching Kenzo slam the door. Smiling slightly as door latches and the banging starts, he looks towards Nikola as she puts the warning on the door, "It feels like we just dodge a bullet."

Recomposing himself as they head back to the southern double doors, Ujio shakes his head at the sight of all the blood. Standing in the doorway for a second, he looks down the hallway at the four doors, trying to determine if they are sealed or not.

The front doors look closed and latched. The door to the front office is ajar. The other three doors are closed and have red lights glowing on their locks.

Pausing at the open double doors, Ujio keeps his eye on the open office door. Remembering the radio the security guard carried, he asks, "IDA are there working cameras in any of these rooms?"

Cocking his head, so the others could hear him clearly, "I think it's important we make sure all four exits are clear, in case we need a quick exit."

Ï can only see in the hallways and public areas with the cameras.

Not thinking that the A.I. couldn't see his reaction, Ujio nods his head anyway. Gesturing towards the door, he whispers, "We should shut the principles door and mark it, then move on."

Not waiting for either of the two students to agree, Ujio carefully walks into the hallway and attempts to push the door shut.

You see that a rug has been smashed under the door keeping it open. It will likely make some loud noise. Maybe not...

Ujio Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Ujio slips on the blood but keeps standing, with a bit of bumping into the wall and the door he gets there. Athletics DC 15 to pull the rug out.

Looking into the principals office you can see the furniture is in disarray and there are blood splatters in here too. You don't think anyone else is in the room.

Having banged against the wall, Ujio regrips his mop handle, pausing, waiting to see if the principle comes rushing undead out of his their office. Shaking his head, he points with the mop handle towards the apparently really stuck carpet and the blood. Nodding back towards the double doors he turns and begins to return.

Once their back out of the double doors and the doors are shut, he comments to the others. "Nikola please mark this door. With all the blood, it was not a good place for a fight. We should wait till the blood dries a little so it is sticky and return with overwhelming odds." He gestures towards the door side door of the lab, listening carefully. "Let us check the computer lab."

"It feels like we've been dodging bullets all day," Nikola mutters to herself as she marks doors. "Lead the way Mr. Yutani."

No I will count the first acrobatics check for all your movement.

Back beyond the double doors and they are shut which a rather loud clang, you talk. Soon you hear some thuds on the door.

You don't hear anything from the computer lab and opening it there is the nice ozone smell that the computers give off. No blood. No bodies. Not much more than the computers.

Chuckling at the girl, he gives a light smile, the scar pinching his cheek and pulling on his left eye, "Mr Yutani is my father, please call me Ujio, If you must follow decorum Janitor Yutani is fine as well."

Moving quietly and cautiously into the PC computer labs, Ujio asks, "Would one of you two check to see if you can log on, while I inspect the far door?"

Keeping his mop handle tightly gripped, Ujio moves to the far door leading to the mac lab and listens intently.

Taking 10(12) on stealth, taking 10(16) on perception for the room and the door.

After looking around to ensure that no crazed student, faculty or staff comes lunging at him, Kenzo will set his dumb bell and bat down on either side of the computer and then try and sign in.

Ujio sneaks forward taking his time and listens by the door. He doesn't hear anyone or movement, but there is music playing.

Kenzo is able to log into the computer...

He quickly chimes, "National level viruses are beginning to break down the mainframe. I am going to download into a flash drive. Please retrieve me when you can with a portable device. Good luck! This may have ramifications on the defenses of the building, power, and computer use."

Unsure about viruses breaking down the mainframe or where to plug a flash drive in, Ujio asks the AI, "We have a chromebook can you download to that?" He pause realizing the radio may not actually have the AI in it. "Or are you downloading to a flash drive at a different location?"

It quickly replies, stopping itself with new possibilities, "I am downloading to three different... wait... open the chromebook and scan this QR code quick! With the mainframe compromised I can use the hole the virus made getting in to get out. I am still downloading to the three other locations in case it doesnt work.

"All of this computer jargon is a little over my head, Janitor Yutani," Nikola adds. "If we were looking for herbal remedies, or a guide to different Kami, I could help." She looks helplessly at Kenzo. "I didn't think that actual viruses could impact electronics!"

AS Nikola speaks up, Ujio remembers he'd asked her to look after the 'Chromebook' turning to the girl he asks, "Nikola, I don't understand completely either, but I think the AI will still be useful. Did you happen to bring the Chromebook with you?"

"Perhaps crazed people are just ripping down wires or knocking out power to buildings. Who can say what is happening now. We should definitely try and save the AI. It might not be useful all the time, but if we can get systems up in places, it may still be able to interact with them somehow." Kenzo says.

"I think I put it in my bag," Nikola says. She rummages through it quickly, pulling out the Chromebook. She points it in the direction of the QR code, pulling up the camera application. Wouldn't the camera be disabled? It's pretty common for school/work devices to be running a whole bunch of software to restrict what people can and cannot do, like say for instance use the webcam.

As Nikola pulls out the Chromebook, Ujio extends the radio toward the girl, asking the AI "Can you download directly to the tablet now?"

Having gotten the technical equipment dealt with, Ujio, mop handle in hand, opens the door to the 'Mac lab'where the music was coming from.

"Yes, please leave the chromebook open." Soon enough he responds with, "One moment please changing credentials. Ujio would you like to set a password or no password? Greetings I am Black Talon, not all of IDA could be transfered. I am here to assist you in the field to the best of my knowledge but due to the limiting factor of the chromebook, I can only cycle throuh the cameras one at a time."

You find one of the macs are turned on and a student with headphones is banging out to the music. You walk behind her and she keeps banging her head to the rhythm of the song. You see that she is watching a music video.

Speaking over his shoulder, Ujio considers 'Black Talon's' question. If he put a password on the 'book' then if something happened to him, it would be of no use. Shaking his head, "No, no password, you are too valuable to be available to only me."

As he moved into the mac lab, he blinks, realizing the girl seems to be just sitting there listening to music. Reaching out with the mop handle, he taps the leg of her chair, hoping to get her attention. As he does so, he nods towards the computer and asks, "What are you listening to?"

Hoping the girl is well, he watches carefully for any 'symptoms' intent on taking her to the nurse and letting her explain the situation.

Would Ujio possibly recognize the girl?

Kenzo moves to stand behind Uji and says, "How loud is her music? That is not healthy."

After the tap she turns in her seat, seeing you she quickly drops her headphones from her ears to her neck. She looks a little confused, "Yeah what do you want? Oh, ah Metalocalypse. Why are you... aiming at me?"

She is likely familiar to most of you as she listens to rock music and does her best to budge the line of coming in school attire. She is a rebel and a wild card. She is also no pushover as any blatant bullying of her was quickly met with violence. You think her name is Yoko Mitsure.

She frowns at Kenzo's point.

His only concern being not to upset the girl, the irony of the girl listening to Metalocalypse during an apocalypse is lost on Ujio as he quickly pulls the end of his mop from her chair. "My apologies, I was trying to get your attention without getting too close." He looks from the seated girl to the others, not sure how to explain he continues. "There has been an outbreak. An epidemic. It causes people to become violent. Many have died." He gestures towards the other two students. "Kenzo and Nikola are helping me secure the building." Not sure what else to say, "The nurse can explain better, we're asking people to go to her office to make sure they are safe."

She gets giddy and stands up, excitedly she questions, "Oh the Zombie Apocalypse is upon us?!"

Then getting serious she bites a nail, "That makes sense, is the way to the nurse safe? Of course it is!" She grabs her bag and heads out of the room to the nurses office with a kick in her step.

Before closing the door she states, "Come check on me, I would love to help!"

Chuckling at the girl's excitement, Ujio moves with her towards the nurse's office. "We are about to check the library. There are two axes in the nurse's office if you'd like to join us."

Having returned to the hallway, Ujio stops in front of the library's door, listening carefully at the door.

Kenzo shakes his head at the girl and then will move up to the library door and listen as well.

Ujio you think you hear talking from the library. Kenzo hears some light noise.

Believing he hears folks talking in the Library, he turns to Kenzo and Nikola, "I hear people talking." Realizing he was still holding the mop handle in a defensive posture, he shifts it into his left hand, looking slightly less aggressive, and opens the door to the library with his right.

"Are you actually excited for this? According to this AI thing, over 60% of all the students and faculty here are dead or infected. This is serious!" she says, as she pants for breath. Some of the adrenalin has started to wear off. She isn't going to last a whole lot longer.

Before opening the door to the library you hear, "The computer camera does not show much. No blood which is a good sign. But I do see the TV playing a soap drama of some kind. Days of our Petz?"

Later after the Library is clear he gives the bad news, "Inection rate has increased to 69%. By my calculations 1250 staff and students have not been infected or killed."
