As soon as they get a clear view of the rose window, PCs can make DC 15 Knowledge (religion or history) checks. Those who succeed suspect that the scene should depict the raising of the Starstone, but the figures’ hands are positioned in such a way that they appear to be lowering the artifact instead of raising it (see Creature, below). Anyone who inspects it carefully and who succeeds at a dC 25 Perception check notes that the window and its stone frame are riddled with cracks.
You have determined you are looking at a construct rather than an ordinary window It gets no surprise round, bigger image on left.

Roll init, go if before it.
All make a fort save dc 16 or be dazzled.

Init 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
I say, my eyes... 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Fort Save to avoid being dazzled.
Curse these lovely coruscating colours! I am dazzled. Factored into the below
Bugger, can't slit its throat and it is likely to shatter. Still, I'll try to be quiet...
Igor can't fail to beat our foes Init, so I'll delay until after Tiny Pebble. If Tiny Pebble is able to move out of its current spot, I'll 5' step and Vital Strike. If not, I'll have to move one square further to the right, which would then just be a standard action attack so no Vital Strike damage.
Right, let's see whose cuts are the sharpest! Swift: challenge
1d20 + 12 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 1 = 31 to attack with my Falcata.
1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 9 Cold Iron Slashing (non-magic) damage if it hits (plus 1d8 ⇒ 1 if Vital Strike) (If this crits, x3 damage)

@DoubleGold - This knowledge check will probably allow two questions so I will go with Immunity(if any) and Special Attacks.

Righty o, if a withdrawal is in order, let us make it in good order
Marcus withdraws for turn one. For turn two, Marcus sheathes his falcata, quickdraws his musket, and loads an Adamantine bullet.
Let's see if the blighter pursues...

Igor finishes his spell and an earth elemental (green and square) appears right next to the funky mirror. The wizard calls out in Terran for the two elemental to wait for him to act first. He calls out to the rest of the party.
"Don't run away. We can handle a mirror. Shame!"
Igor summons a pool of grease under the feet of the construct. He then moves out of the corner of the room.
Grease DC 20 (with Alchemical Power Component applied for +1 spell DC) or fall prone.
Trying to run away from this construct will just result in triggering two encounters at the same time. I have seen this before. Please be reasonable. :)

Magical Mercenaries |

The newly summoned earth elemental waits dutifully for Igor's spell to trigger (and hopefully drop the mirror to the floor) before attempting to clobber it with a stony fist.
Slam,Earth Mastery,Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 - 1 = 24
Slam,Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 10

Tiny Pebble |

Tiny Pebble waits a moment as well hoping that the mirror will be no match for a slippery floor. He then steps forward and tries to punch the construct.
Slam,Earth Mastery,Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 19
Hopefully the mirror will fall prone and with a +4 bonus to hit this attack (a 23 net) will hit.
Slam,Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 10

DoubleGold |

Garista had two turns hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 nope.
Marcus moves and loads
Igor sets a grease trap. reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 and it is now prone and it turns tiny pebbles miss into a hit.
Elementals attack, the earth elemental hits.
Jilla and Willard are up 49 points of damage on this thing, that is after taking into account DR.

![]() |

At Igor's shout, Jilla feels really guilty. What if she gets eaten by a mirror, and everyone thinks it's my fault? She digs through her pack and pulls out a bundle of cloth; unravelling it, she removes a rolling pin. Audible infant-like cries emanate from it. "Shhh, I'm sorry to wake you. But it's time to go hit stuff, sweetie. . . .
Double move, drawing a weapon.

Magical Mercenaries |

@DoubleGold - Garsita should get an attack of opportunity as well as she has a reach weapon. I will roll all of the attacks of opportunities for all the characters now and then post their turns latter. Unfortunately I have been drafted for real life gardening duty. ;)
Garsita attempts to cut the mirror down with her glaive.
To hit, Melee vs Prone: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
The (green) earth elemental tries to kick the mirror as it rises.
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack, Melee vs Prone: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 - 1 + 4 = 19
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 10

Tiny Pebble |

I will roll his attack of opportunity now and post his turn latter.
Tiny Pebble tries to body slam the mirror back into the ground.
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack, Melee vs Prone: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 - 1 + 4 = 12
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 12
Horrible rolls. Hopefully the dice gods will like me better on my actual turn. ;)

![]() |

Igor moves before the two earth elementals getting into position to cast a spell that fills the room with snow and ice. Due to careful positioning the spell catches the mirror and no one else.
Flurry of Snowballs cast. SR=No, Reflex save DC 18 for half damage, 30' cone.
Flurry of Snowball (Cold), Intense Spells, Reflex DC 18 for half damage: 4d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 6) + 3 = 22
I love this spell. An evocation spell that ignores SR and has a nice big area of effect. :)

Tiny Pebble |

Tiny Pebble tries to put the hurt on this nasty construct.
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 16
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 9

![]() |

Jilla skips back.
Double move.

DoubleGold |

The elemental hits it once for 5 damage.
Igor does no damage to it, but the cold slows it down. It is under the slow spell again for another 3 rounds.
Edit, nevermind, read the comment that it ignores spell resistance, and it is only immune to spells that allow sr. so it deals damage and slows the thing down.
reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 okay, so 11 damage and slowed for 3 rounds 65 dmg on it.

![]() |

Make up your blooming minds... Marcus mutters, as he takes aim at the 'window'...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 to hit, touch AC (-1 to the preceding if I am still dazzled).
2d12 + 5 ⇒ (11, 6) + 5 = 22 Adamantine damage, if it hits.

![]() |

Willard squints at the creature, again flinging an icicle at the creature, continuing the cold assault on the glass golem...
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 2 - 4 = 5
Icicle, balanced offensive: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

![]() |

Sorry, missed the -4 penalty for shooting into Melee. Marcus is only at a 9 to hit touch, in this case, because he doesn't have Precise Shot

![]() |

Precise Shot/Improved Precise Shot is sort of the gold standard for ranged builds. Both cover and being in melee stack to a -8 penalty which is hard to overcome even if you are targeting touch AC. Personally I prefer Magic Missile as it hits every time. ;)

![]() |

Igor steps back, draws a pearl of power and dismisses his Grease spell.
He directs his elemental task force in Terran to surround and destroy the troublesome mirror.

Magical Mercenaries |

Garsita advances and attacks again with her glaive.
Glaive to hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
The summoned elemental (green) coordinates with Tiny Pebble to surround and destroy the nasty mirror. He steps up (5' step) and punches out.
To hit, Flank, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 28
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 14
Crit confirm for green.
Crit confirm, Flank, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 23
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 14

Tiny Pebble |

Tiny Pebble steps up and attacks with his summoned friend.
To hit, Flank, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 24
Slam, Earth Mastery, Power Attack: 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 + 3 = 13

"This sure is an awful lot of bother over one silly mirror!" says Jilla, as she gets close to it again.
Double-move.

DoubleGold |

Finally the golem mirror goes down.
Treasure, you are able to search room 5 and find 9 longswords decorated but not magical and 2 magical longswords. Do we need a spellcraft check to id or are weapons automatically identified to their exact specifications. Also do you need a check to identify weapons of a specific material?

![]() |

@DoubleGold - Technically it a DC 10 Dungeoneering check to identify minerals or metals. Any character of average intelligence should be able to take 10 and identify the construction of most weapons. As for magical weapons it is necessary to use Spellcraft to identify their properties or a character could try them out combat as well.
Igor's summoned companion disappears but Tiny Pebble remains steadfastly at his side. The wizard uses two pearls of power to recover his first level spells before turning his attention to the weapons they have found.
"See, no need to run away from that monster. It just took a little persistence and magic of course to defeat it."
The wizard then examines the swords but is careful not to touch them. His experienced eye notices their value and construction.
20 on a take 10 for Appraisal and Knowledge-Dungeoneering.
He then casts Detect Magic and tries to identify the properties of the magical weapons.
Weapon 1, Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
Weapon 2, Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
As the DC for identification is 15+Caster Level that should probably do it for both magical swords.
