A half-drow doesn't need to be told twice. He has seen too many betrayals in his lifetime, even though it is not too long. However, in this strange sunny world, for some reason they need to be taken alive. Well, maybe the Matrons of the Pathfinder Society will terribly torture them before sacrificing to some deity of adventure and profit?

Smiling at this thought, Zizarc gets into a tiger stance and rushes forward.

Cal shakes his head at how this played out. "Why don't the kids ever listen to their elders. Not that I'm that old, mind ya'." His vanity won't let him admit how old he really is, even though it's several human lifespans already.

He draws his short sword and sidles past Zizarc and Harsk, stopping just behind Mr. Skycyan.

*If Bakbat's Intimidation succeeded vs Ollie, that's who Cal attacks, since Ollie is Hunting Cal and would be FF as a result of being Frightened. However, if Bakbat failed to intimidate Ollie, then Cal attacks Jonas with Flanking.

You know, it really is a pity that witches can only cast one hex per round, including hex cantrips. It sure would be nice to cast Evil Eye on mulitple targets at once.

"Hmp. Nincompoops." Curling her lip in disgust, Itka locks eyes with Joan the Jolly (green, I presume) and casts Evil Eye on her with a crude gesture.

Zizarc decides to hit Jonas twice in an effort to subdue them.

Bakbat makes a Critical insult at Olle before demoralizing them.
Cal seizes the opportunity and emerges through the forest like a tiger before catching Olle off guard and sneaking a quick attack.

Jolly's Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Itka glares at Jolly, only for the half-orc to frown in response. "Yikes. Qaxl got them good. Don't worry, we'll save you in a bit!"
Zak, annoyed closes in on her and slaps her once with his wings.

20 damage on Olle. They are Bon Motted for -3 Will/Perception and Frightened 1.

Charles the Cerulean dusts his hands off. "I won't be of much use, we don't want to kill them. Oh! Unless... plants of the forest, come to my aid! Help us help our befuddled allies!"

The plants rise to entangle Itka, Kaz, Zak, Zizarc and Bakbat!

"Jonas, get the restraints ready." Joan pulls out her manacles and takes a swing at Zak. "Hmpf. Mom said these would come in handy..."

Cal smiles in satisfaction as Ollie trembles and Harsk grabs them from behind. He takes quick advantage of their distraction to swat them with the flat of his short sword.

Minor note. Ollie's Will Save vs the Dread Rune should be at -3, not just -1 as they were Bon Motted which lasts 1 minute.

Harsk, >Grapple< says you maintain the grapple until the end of your next turn.

Cal, thanks for catching the -3 Bon Mot to Will. Olle did spend an action to end the effect early. I'll pass the boosted Aid Token to another table.

Harsk feels his grip on Olle start to slip. Before he loses it, though, he gives Olle one quick punch to the gut. Cal also contributes, almost knocking the tracker out.

Cal notices the manacles and insults Jonas. "Wait, what? How... filthy..." Cal takes advantage of the situation and bonks Jonas.

Olle the Tracker is at 41 non lethal damage and will break free at the end of Harsk's turn.
Jonas Skycyan is at 22 non lethal damage.

Itka almost manages to break free, but the vines have worked their way into her stocking and wrapped around her leg. "Hmp." It'll go away soon enough, as green as these pups are. Dismissing the minor inconvenience, she instead casts Guidance on Zizarc, Cal, and herself.

"You complete buffoon!" Kaz snaps, his glare also fixed on Jonas as he finishes his spell, "You have the situational awareness of a week-old banana!"

Oh, I just realized Kaz never made a Reflex Save against the Entangle spell.

Zizarc's patience is running out, and he decides to critically box Jonas right in the jaw. The mark will fade in a few hours. He's certain of it.

"Now, I'm certainly no ogre. I'm much too small, for starters. Also I enjoy grooming myself. Ogres think rolling around in their own filth constitutes as a bath." Charles wastes a lot of time contemplating BakBat's words. Joan's annoyed grunt gets his attention. "Right, right. Sorry. Not much I can do without leaving lasting damage. I can flank, at least." Charles moves alongside Zak, opposite Jonas.

Olle slips free of Harsk's grasp and strides as far as possible away. Vision woozy, a bit dizzy, but their friends are in great trouble. The tree cover blocks some of their view of Cal, but not enough. So they switch targets.

Cal takes advantage of flat-footed Jonas and quickly knocks him out. Then he turns to Joan and compliments her manacle usage, turning her bright red for a moment before she regains her composure.

"Pffft. I'm certain handsome guys like you tell everyone that..." She tries to retort, but she's clearly intimidated by Cal's calmness.

Zizarc's legs are free, and he notices Jonas is out cold. So he turns his attention to Joan, who swerves away from his tiger feet.

Harsk begins working on his restraints, but they are too tight. It would require 3 DC 22 Thievery checks to pick them open without a key. Harsk still has 1 action remaining if he wants to move.

Jonas is KOed, Joan is Frightened 1.

BakBat, the >Aqueous Orb< can move 10 feet. Looks like Charles and Joan can be caught but Olle is too far away. Also the orb is 10 feet in diameter. Zak would be caught in the orb if you tried to get both.

As Itka's eye weighs down on Charles, BakBat tries to bowl him over with an Aqueous Orb. One look at Cal causes Charles to hesitate, and the orb quickly engulfs him.

BakBat manages critically wraps a Tanglefoot around Olle's legs, immobilizing them.

Zizarc and Zak begin working on knocking out Joan. "Ow!" Zizarc kicks her twice, one hit leaving a critically nasty bruise that isn't going away anytime soon. "Ow!" Zak also lands a critical blow, knocking her out. As Kaz escapes the entangled area, Zak moves towards Olle.

Charles swims until he emerges from the orb, next to Kaz. "Olle. I do say, we are clearly outmatched. And I'm not in the mood for another bath." He drops his dagger and raises his hands over his head. "I surrender to your might."

Olle fidgets with the tanglefoot, but after watching Joan fall, they drop their longbow. "Agreed. We're no match for you."

Olle Will Save: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 1 = 16
Charles finds a moment of clarity in accepting his fate and shakes off his immediate fear.

Olle has 4 HP left and Charles has no nonlethal spells, so I'm going to call it here. Joan & Jonas have the manacle keys so Harsk and Zizarc can be freed.

You have 10 minutes to heal, refocus, etc. before the next scenario.

Cal turns away from Harsk's manacles when the newbies surrender. He pops the picks back into his sleeve, and digs out his healer's kit. "Boyo, Lady Luck wasn't on yer side this fight," he comments to the dwarf as he starts to patch him up. "Maybe you should try sweet talkin' Her like I do," he finishes with a wink.

"That's all I can do fer ya, boyo." He packs up his kit and moves to where the newbies are as he raises his Oni mask back up onto his hat brim. But he doesn't hide the eerie runes and script on his armor. Yet.

"I gotta hand to you lot, you got spunk. You'll make right fine agents someday." His charming smile and kind words are meant to boost their morale - just before he tears into them.

"But when another Pathfinder - and a whole team at that - tell ya' not to go doin' somethin', you pay 'em mind. This time, ya' got some bruises; next time - You. Will. Die."

Having made his point, he gets Joan's manacle key, finishes freeing Harsk, then returns the manacles and key to Joan. At which point, he turns on the charm to get another date when this is all over.

Captain Benarry grumbles as she picks up Joan and Jonas. "Ye greenhorns thought the experts were enchanted? Look!" She points angrily at Charles at the stream.

"Well, they grabbed me and... oh." The illusion shatters in front of him. "I see... Please, accept my apologies." He doesn't have much time to talk before Benarry dumps Jonas in his lap. "Carry him. Olle, bring Joan back to base camp."

She turns to you. "Thank ye for saving them from a ride down the river. They would have washed out to the lake, and maybe Besmara would notice 'em and laugh."

If you haven't taken 10 minutes to Treat Wounds or Refocus, now is the time.

After a short rest, you catch up to Captain Benarry, who looks through a spyglass. “Fey. Lots of them. They’ve got to be coming through some kind of portal from the First World. I’ll take care of that lot while you look for the source. Watch for more coming through!”

Make a Perception or Survival Check to search for clues.

There is a ring of mushrooms not too far from here. You notice many tracks emerging from there. They must be the source!
