Scratch continues to have difficulty targeting the big Soldier with the Falchion, missing with both of his shots.

The Soldier takes aim at the troublesome person who keeps trying to grapple him (who is also the only person in reach.)

No worries - easy to miss!

Zenith notices the unconscious soldier bleeding out. They pray over the soldier's body, "Desna, may this one have more dreams yet." Zenith places their hand over the bleeding wound and positive energy begins pour out of their hand into the wound.

Zenith is attempting to use Assisted Recovery by expending a focus point to lay on hands and stop the bleeding for 2+1=3 actions. The rules don't state this auto-clears persist bleed, but zenith would try using lay on hands either way. If assisted recovery isnt allowed in this way, then Zenith would still use lay on hands normally to heal the soldier for 18hp and then grapple. Whatever you think is fair, Zenith just doesn't want the soldier bleeding out as their primary concern, and secondary concern would be to try to grapple the soldier if they're going to wake back up.

Looking at the Assisted Recovery rules, I have a lot of latitude , so here's what I'm going to rule. Zenith uses the Lay on Hands as part of the
two-action assisted recovery, because I like the way that works. That leaves you one action for the Grapple, which succeeds. He comes around Grappled with the 18 HP you give him, and we'll do a check for the assisted recovery.

Flat check to get rid of Bleed DC 15 : 1d20 ⇒ 16

Zenith ends up grappling the soldier (who is still prone, btw) who has dropped his weapon, but is no longer bleeding.

Kat runs down the alley and turns the corner to attack Red, hitting with one of her two strikes.

Red drops his crossbow, pulls a warhammer, and strikes at Kat.

The Soldier looks around and considers his situation and says Very well, I surrender.

After you defeat your attackers, you have a few minutes to search for clues and items before the distant shouts of hostility grow too close for comfort.

In addition to the equipment listed below, you find a few pouches of various gemstones on the operatives, worth a total of 60 gp.

The party can head to the candle warehouse safehouse to meet up with Muesello. When you arrive, the safehouse’s contents have been packed away into a large backpack, save for a small tray of modified and ritually linked wayfinders that Muesello has been using to communicate with Gloriana’s spies across the district. All of these wayfinders are missing their compass needles. Muesello tells you The coast is clear for now; however, I believe that the movements of Ninth Army agents suggest that they had somehow known to expect Pathfinders. He then guides you to a different safehouse.

If you left any Ninth Army members alive, you can bring them along for interrogation or leave them behind. Gloriana’s agents lure any remaining pursuers away and discreetly arrest any Ninth Army members you leave behind.

The new safehouse entrance is in the cellar of an abandoned home. The locked front door features a large sign reading “Condemned—Pest Infestation”. Muesello leads you to a cellar entrance in the back hidden by overgrown bushes.

The building’s interior is old but structurally sound and much cleaner than its exterior. It has enough beds for Muesello and the party to rest comfortably, and the cellar is stocked with food, water, and other basic provisions.

I vote to bring the soldier that surrendered for interrogation. We might learn information about them and about the letter.

Avery takes a good look at the letter Shandra found. She finds the content all gibberish, but she tries to Decipher it. Avery has Society +8 to Decipher Writing. "Weird. Anyone that can decipher this?" she asks the others if her attempt fails. She will let others do the interrogation because she is not good at it. "Ask the soldier about how they know our movement." she tells the one who might attempt to interrogate the soldier.

"So what's the plan now?"

We just got told where you would be going and to ambush you there. This group was to return to an abandoned jail southwest of the arena in Eastport. Someone called The Peddler has threatened to punish the Ninth Army for its lack of progress in ruining the Pathfinder Society’s operations in Oppara.

Muesello says I commend you for your efficiency. He sends a message to Glorianna's spies, telling them to pick up supplies instead of continuing their investigation.

With information in hand, Muesello invites you to rest for the night. Tomorrow morning, he explains, You’ll confront the Ninth Army in their hideout and search for evidence.

Glorianna's spies return within an hour and give you 5 lesser healing potions and 4 moderate bottled lightnings.

Scratch doesn't have Society trained, so no help on the decipher writing front from him.

Scratch looks at the letter and squints "What sorta gobbledygook language is that?" He quickly gets to cleaning his rifle and preparing gear, sneaking some food after the gun is restored to a dull metal gloss.

"Goodies? Looks good, I'll help myself." He grabs a bottle of each for good measure.

When they've got some alone time away from the spies and Muesello Scratch whispers to the others "Best we keep on our toes and set some watches tonight, just in case. Sleep with one eye open and a hand on yer pistols." He nods before scouring the warehouse for a good elevated position to hole up for the night, and keep watch.

Before bed he also rigs up the last of his explosives (4) to a wall, just in case they need an extra 'door' at the last second. He can either set them off when he chooses or they'll go inert at his daily preperations in the morning.

Avery takes one of the lesser healing potions, and one of the moderate bottled lightning which she thinks is fun to throw at enemies. But she is still worried that the enemies might know their plan to ambush them in their hideout.

Zenith knows better than to try to decipher the letter themselves, and instead tries to watch the stars for a bit if allowed outside but understands if it were to be a security concern. Upon returning, or having never left, they thank the soldier for the information.

With the new supplies delivered, Zenith takes none of them and insists others to take them.

Zenith passes on healing potions and bottled lightnings. If no one offers to hold the extras then zenith could do it for simplicity though.

By my count 1 lesser healing potions and 2 moderate bottled lightning remain for others to take.

Seems like we are ready to head out

The party awakens refreshed from a comfortable sleep. Gloriana’s staff—disguised as ratcatchers—discreetly delivered a buffet-style breakfast of eggs, potatoes, breads, fresh fruit, coffee, and juices. Before breakfast, Muesello gives you a note from Gloriana Morilla. Added to slide 6

When the party is ready to leave, Muesello gives you an envelope containing Gloriana’s signet ring and tells you that Gloriana has arranged a series of carriages to take them on a roundabout journey through Eastport intended to throw off would-be pursuers. You are to present the ring to the drivers, who will then relay them to their next destination. You can request a stop to resupply if you need to.

The final carriage veers east at the Gray Market and begins zig-zagging down side roads until it finally stops in a rickety industrial area. The driver informs the party this is as far as he goes, and where you’re headed is three blocks south, and two blocks east. The carriage speeds off when the party exits. The indicated route leads past scorched homes and workshops, empty save for perhaps an occasional squatter or family of raccoons.

A stone structure stands among the surrounding neighborhoods. It’s mid-morning, and it appears no one else is around.

Prison Hideout

The single-story prison has only one entry and four windows on the east side, plus a few windows looking into empty cells on the north side. The windows are all heavily barred and only a few inches wide on the outside.

"I heard somebody that there is an alarm on the front door. I also overheard about this The Peddler and they seem worried about their fate at the hands of The Peddler. Maybe we can try another entrance than the front door. Or we can look for the alarm and disable it first if there is no other way." Avery shares what she just heard to them.

As there is no other door, I suggest we try to pick the lock from the front door and disable the alarm. It seems to me that the Ninth army operatives are more afraid of what the Peddler could do to them, than anything. Could use this at our advantage.
