Facepalming myself because I thought all the wayfinders found cast darkness. I should read twice. Ha!

”I take back what I said. Actually, only one of them cast darkness, and one is made from adamantine.” she corrects herself, as if some weird force nudged her mind with the correct details. She feels a temporary headache after telling that.

"Lolly, there's a bit more to it. Those wayfinders were left after incidents where things were stolen or even assaulted. And there were people who either spotted someone who matches Muesello's description, or even points them here. The guard doesn't have the lead just yet, but they have all the wayfinders. Do you know if there's any reason Muesello might be involved in this?"

Jaxon looks into the workshop. "Well, let's see what the VC left for a surprise." He moves to the doorway near the desk and tries to search for any hidden traps as he moves over to the desk.

Having been warned, Jaxon will search around for any hazards or traps. Perception +7

Description: A cloud of invisible magical sensors in a 5-foot radius surrounds an invisible rune on the wall or floor sized to the creature to be summoned.

Disable: DC 20 Acrobatics to approach without triggering the trap followed by DC 22 Thievery (trained) to erase the rune, or dispel magic (2nd level; counteract DC 19) to counteract the rune

Lolly responds to Jaxon. I don't know why he might be doing this or what else is going on.

Not hearing a mad dash to escape out of the back door Scratch eventually comes around to join the others, flashing his wayfinder and moving past Lolly. "Can't be too careful eh chum? Hang out for a bit would ya while we poke around for some evidence to hopefully clear his name from assault, arson, and robbery."

Scratch moves into the backroom just enough to keep an eye on Jaxon and keep himself hidden as best he can.

Jaxon crouches down and spots the runes on the floor. "Hey, Zenith, this is probably a job for you. You're more nimble than me. I'd probably step on one of these with my big ol' feet." The thing points out the runes to them.

"By the stars, your sight is sharp!" Zenith proclaims after needing the runes pointed out to them. They then carefully examine the runes from a distance before approaching the first rune.

Light feet, quick, deliberate steps Zenith thinks to themself as they take the first steps. Halfway there, Zenith almost loses their balance but seizes themself mid-step to prevent a badly placed step and somehow recovers their balance to make the rest of the approach without issue. Once within range, Zenith quickly scuffs out the rune so it is no longer active.

"Phew! they say under their breath before remembering two more runes need to be disabled. Zenith pivots their attention to the next rune and takes several careful steps. Zenith soon finds themself on an uneven board and when attempting to take their next step, they lose their balance. Zenith tries to seize themself mid-air once more but the uneven board shifts and Zenith foot comes down. The runes begin glowing and Zenith's eyes grow wide.

"Uh, change of plans!" they shout.

Crit failed -> Hero Point -> Crit Failed. Nothing to be done about it.

Well, that was a short combat.

After Scratch nails the creature with a critical hit, Avery follows up with a critical hit of her own, pinning the creature to the floor with an arrow as she finishes it off.

You are out of combat.

With the runes disabled and the one summoned creature defeated, you can search Muesello’s desk. The top of the desk was left clear, and all but one of the drawers contain mechanical drawings and schematics.

There is one locked drawer, in the middle of the desk.

Two successful thievery checks to pick a lock or one successful athletics check to force open

Inside the locked drawer is a sheaf of papers outlining the current crime spree, spree, as well as some useful items. In Muesello’s notes, you find an outline of a possible conspiracy, including predictions of future crime sites. These notes include speculation about the robbery at Lioness Jewelers, destruction of Garrix’s monument and Evanine’s attack, as well as prior vandalism and rumor mongering. Additionally, he notes that these crimes focus on intimidating supporters of Grand Princess Eutropia and have been escalating over the past several weeks. Among these notes are comments about possible ways to stop the crimes or reduce its harm to the victims.

Scratch looks up from reloading in time to see a pair of arrows finish off the summoned creature "Heh, good one girly. Nothin' like some artillery fire to stamp somethin' out before it gets goin'." He finishes reloading before getting back to keeping an eye out while Avery works the locks.

"So this guy tryin' to lead us here dropping those clues or what? Seems like he's working against this plot, but its still not a sure thing. Guess we should keep investigatin'." He calls Lolly over to witness the findings.

The thugs squints as he reads the note. "So, Muesello knows what they will hit and tries to keep the damage low, but still let's them continue? Maybe they're forcing him to work with them?"

He points to the next line in the note. "So the next target is this 'Queen's Tears' fountain. Lolly, do you know where this is?"

Zenith recovers their balance just in time to watch the creature get blown to pieces. "Thanks for having my back, Scratch-- and Avery." they say with a hint of amusement from their play on words.

Zenith then observes silently while the party continues the investigation, unsure what to make of the clues until Jaxon puts it together. "Sounds like as good of lead as any then, right? "

who wants the potions/bombs/wand? Zenith has lay on hands so better to put the potions on someone else. Can't use the wand. If no one wants the tanglefoot bags then zenith would hold one or both, but is unlikely to use them unless an NPC tries to run. So if someone actually will use them go for it.

If nobody takes them, Avery can have the tanglefoot bags.

"Well, better bring the thing down already." she tells them when they quickly eliminated the hound-like creature. "What could be the venture-captain's role with these, I wonder? And why isn't he asking for the help of Society in this matter? And the kidnapping one is a serious thing we should check out first before the vandalism thing." her thoughts on prioritizing their next move is different.

Muesello is only but one man, he wasn't able to prevent all the events because he couldn't do everything by himself. We could split to each of the place and act when needed. We know when one will take place, at noon on Fireday. In the meantime, we can split in two teams to look for the two other places.

Scratch looks over the list and shakes his head "First off: Society rules 101: Don't split up, you just make it easier to bite the dust. Secondly, looks like this list is pretty chronological, maybe we should just go from top to bottom.. besides, what day is it again?" He scratches his head, its hard to keep track of the day sometimes when you're older...

Don't forget at some point we need to report back, but seems like that is flexible timing-wise, as long as it is today. I suspect tomorrow is Fireday.. Hopefully we can get more info on 'Cole' when we report back.

Re: Items: Scratch has one lesser healing potion from PFS on hand now. Also, likely he'll be out of range for a tanglefoot bag vs someone in melee, or someone with a higher speed to chase down a target.. my bullets have a very, very long range. I can't use the wand.

Adamina (CG female halfling politician) is a popular activist that support Eutropia’s rise by hosting salons to discuss politics of Taldor. Her salons often focused on the philosophical questions around the requirement that only men hold the Taldan crown, which had been a traditional rule prior to Eutropia’s coronation. While the salons at first drew primarily noble women who were discouraged by discrimination they faced in the political sphere, their scope grew, and Adamina helped support members of her salon with newly awakened ambitions enter that sphere without regard for their family background. She established her salon in Westport so that the citizens with less money and influence would be able to easily attend.

When you arrive at Adamina’s salon, the site is an active crime scene.

A constable stands guard outside the salon with her halberd in hand. Past the open door, others dressed in the uniform of the Oppara constabulary mark the floor with chalk, measure parts of the building and take notes. Leaning on the stone wall among a bed of peonies is an ashen-skinned halfling woman holding her head in despair.

The woman sitting outside of the salon is Orchita (CG female dhampir halfing scholar), Adamina’s wife, who has slightly ashen, medium-deep skin and wears comfortable, flowing clothes.
She was present that morning with a group of four men burst into a discussion group and demanded Adamina leave with them. Adamina left without a struggle and Orchita hesitantly called for the authorities to help. She’s pessimistic that she’ll see her wife again.

If you speak with her, she describes what happened to the best of her ability. However, her memory is patchy due to the stress that she’s under.
The constables conducting the investigation have little time for outside meddling. The guard at the door prohibits you from entering, citing that it is an active crime scene and that no one is permitted to enter.

If you talk to the guard at the door, Orchita mutters, “Oh, you’ll probably be better at finding Adamina than the cops will.”

Investigating Adamina’s Salon: While you are not able to enter the building, you can: investigate the area around the salon with a Survival or Perception check; or discuss the kidnapping with Orchita to try to spur her memory with a Diplomacy check

Each of you can attempt a single skill check, and the group can earn a maximum of 3 Clue Points.

Shandra starts investigating around the crime scene, hoping to find any clue relative to what happened. Her ability to calm people being close to 0 she lets her more able comrades to talk to Adamina's wife.

investigated.

Jaxon coaxes more of the story from Orchita: The kidnappers took Adamina out of the salon and then down the alleyway to the east.

Kat doesn't find anything useful.

Avery lets the others do the talking and she takes the task of searching for something useful for their investigation.

She begins walking casually around the perimeter close to the salon while sightseeing what might be happening inside. Or anything she can find something interesting outside. Having learned from others what just happened to Adamin, she is hoping to find even a small clue as soon as possible so that they can rescue her from the kidnappers.

"It did not stand a chance," Avery laughs with Scratch's humor. Until she breaks off from the conversation when she finds and recognizes a wayfinder with Muesello's maker's mark. "Look, another wayfinder." she shares to Scratch when suddenly it is about to be stolen but she is quick to find what he is trying to do.

Avery points her head to Shandra, showing the light-skinned Taldan man to yield to her. "You better speak, I can't wager for your safety here." she tells him with a wink while still holding the man.

Ninth army? Is that because the first 8 sucked they're on the 9th? Scratch's mind comes to the most inappropriate conclusions sometimes. He's not one to get in on the drama though, its actually something he shies away from. Its a lot easier on the mind to hide behind a scope hundreds of feet away.

"Another wayfinder, guess we should keep that for safe keeping." He gives it a quick look over, noting Avery's comments as the others work over the captured spy.

"Maybe it would be helpful to know where yer friends n Cole took the woman from here?" He lets the others do the intimidating, guns aren't intimidating, they're lethal. If the guns need to come out then the time for talking is already over.

Kat examines the captive for a moment, then, satisfied that he's not hurt in any way, contents herself with keeping a lookout for anything else that might be relevant.

That is a completely obvious question that the scenario author and developers failed to address in the scenario. The other obvious course is to follow the kid back to the organization, but they didn't address this either.

Someone is supposed to come by and pick me up later. I don't have a way to contact them. I have to wait for them to contact me.

Yep, my first inclination would have been to find the kidnap victim ASAP. Unfortunately, the scenario didn't give me a way to let you accomplish that. You have gathered all the information available at this location. I assume you somehow turn the kid into the authorities or at least Gloriana Morilla.
