Entry Eleven: The track down the Sellen River was unbearable. Although Captain Shearwart did his best to accommodate our clergy, the trip was tedious. Luckily, we didn’t encounter any of the river patrols that we thought might come across our path. Once we reach Cassomir, we should be boarding a sea vessel large enough to accommodate our trip to Korvosa. We haven’t heard anything from our contacts from that regen for quite some time but the shipping lanes in that area are flush with potential. I suspect, after greasing the wheel a bit, we can pick up a few extra girls Korvosa. After resupplying, we will head to Magnimar, where Jonavan has arranged for four new girls. The pickup should be smooth, considering the area is well off the beaten path. From there, we will head to Sandpoint and meet with Gidra. Her and her crew should have a solid number for us.
Entry Fourteen: We have brokered a deal with the curator of the Quarterfaux Archive’s Darrick Humphry. He heads one of Caliphas’s underground gangs, which governs the city’s sewer system. The oversized system should take us directly to the temple without having to navigate through the city with the girls.
Entry Twenty-Three: We have collected fourteen girls in total, which should be enough to justify this trip. Adding these girls to our total should please Lord Eastabon. Assuming he doesn’t eliminate any of them, we should have enough to attempt the Gulden Ritual. If the ancient text is correct, this could free Tar-Baphon.
Entry Twenty-Seven: After investigating a disturbance that took place late last night, we have concluded that Sandpoint is aware of our operation. This could undermine our plans if they choose to pursue things further. I have decided, at no small expense, to attempt an old ritual called the awakening. If successful, it will leave Sandpoint with enough on their plate to keep them occupied for quite some time.
Entry Twenty-Seven: is the last entry within the journal.
Copied Ledger Note:
“Lost Minimum Wage Guy:” On the seventh page, second entry: The curator of the Quarterfaux Archive’s Museum, which is a subdivision of the archive, is requesting help locating a missing assistant. The contract offers round trip accommodations aboard a merchant vessel to Caliphas and four paid nights at a location of the group’s choice. The contract offers 1,000 gp on completion, with another 1,000 gp if the assistant is returned. The contract is sponsored by the Quarterfaux Archive. The listed contact is the museum’s curator Cynthia Nail.
“No More Squatters:” On the sixth page, first entry: A request to investigate and eliminate suspected cult activity north of Caliphas, in Ustalav, stands out as one of the higher paying contracts. The contract provides comfortable round-trip travel and accommodations at the Vodavani Lodge for the group’s entire stay. The contract offers 2,000 gp upon conformation of the cult and another 6,000 gp if they are eliminated. The sponsor for the contract is the Royal House of Ordranti. The listed contact is Lord Leopold the III.
Small recap on the map for new players and so everyone doesn't have to scroll back and search for its description.
When inspected, the old scroll case crumbles slightly, sending dried bits of clay and dirt skittering across the table. Yusdrayl, the kobold chief, seems almost as intrigued as the rest of you during the opening process. “I found that old tube washed up along the cost many moons ago. I looked it over but couldn’t make heads or tails of it. If you can understand it, I’m more than a bit curious what it is.” She says while looking over Wayilant’s shoulder to get a better view.
The parchment is made of an old canvas, or something similar to it. It has darkened with age and looks to be stained in multiple places. From what you can tell, it’s a crude outline of Sandpoint’s cove and about two miles north and south of it. There are three locations marked on the map with a name associated with each. “Jasmin, Lowbrow, and Stefan are each designated to one of the locations. Across the bottom of the map, in cursive writing, is the name Johnny Meek. In addition to the names, something was written on the side of the map, but is now illegible due to age and discoloration.
Wayilant (Knowledge History DC 18+) After glancing over the map, Wayilant considers the names and weighs them against any historical recollection he might have come across. The first three names seem simple and less specific. More or less a first name without any historical significance. The fourth name, which has a last name associated with it, rings a bell. “Johnny Meek” also known as “Johnny the Meek” was a murder and an outlaw dating back almost forty years ago. The brigand was caught and convicted of murder and piracy, which lead to a public hanging in Magnimar. He was known to be a viable threat to all sea faring vessels from the Shackles all the way up the Varisian coast.
I wanted to say that I have intentionally not posted anything in order to give the group time to sort out what your next move will be. As fare as Bryndis or Muziel being in the room, I would say it's their choice. They may have accepted Wayilant's invitation, or they could have simply declined and decided to stay at the table. It's not overly critical. Once everyone works out the details on your next move, I will post an update. I just didn't want you to think, because of my silence, that I'm not following along.
So, am I correct in thinking that group's intention is to head back to the White Deer and asses the remainder of your loot. When completed, the following day you intend to head to "The Way North," which is a Cartographer shop and try to buy a map that you can then do a comparison with. The goal would be to see if there are any noteworthy differences between the modern map and the one you have. Let me know if I'm off in anyway, or if anyone wishes to do something other than this.
Oh, and one last thing. I had assumed that you brought all the extremely valuable other items with you, even though you weren't ready to sell any of it. I made this assumption because I simply couldn't imagine that you would leave such valuable items behind in a rented room. If I'm wrong in this, let me know.

Wayilant could not care less about going to the Cartographer, but the aasimar knows one can only argue with a Kalsgard bloodrager for so long until the swords come out. The cleric goes with the group.

The map idea is to see if a detailed local map will help determine where exactly the locations on the Kobold map are at, and if the locations share any characteristics or not.

You're not wrong.

It's a long shot but it can't hurt to look.
I will work on an update and post it hopefully before that day's end. Are you going to have Talienda take a look at all the remaining loot?

Is everyone afraid of Bryndís or something? I hope so... :p

I was afraid of Bryndis before you made Bryndis. (Nico flashback.)

Not fair! Nico was an idealistic, good cop. Bryndís is kinda mean (but only when she needs to be). Actually, as her Taldane improves over time she might not seem so mean, just blunt.
Oh, maybe that's the connection. They're both quite blunt about things.

Yeah, it was a good game. I'm sorry it didn't last longer.
Talienda, Muziel, and Bryndis are in one of the rooms where Talienda has spent some time attempting to identify various bits of loot and found that the demonic looking sword doesn't like her much.
Meanwhile, Wayilant and Alina are in a private room while he tends to her sprained ankle and flirts with her. (By the way, there should be a water basin in the room. That would be a lot cleaner than using the chamber pot, just sayin'.) :P
Gravi, on the other hand has go on to complete his mission with the Pixie's Kitten, a place that is bound to make both Alina and Talienda burst into flames from embarrassment if they ever find themselves there.

Just a heads up, no post from me tonight. I've got a family thing this evening and I need to be up early for a work trip. Might be Saturday before I can get a post up.

Greetings everyone! I am happy to be invited, and I hope I can be a good addition to your group. Bryndis/Rdknight is an old friend and I truly appreciate her recommendation to join.
Positive criticism is always welcome, and I hope we can start off on a good foot.

In short, she’s a decent person trying to find her place in the world. Although it appears some of the world is not keen on her trying!
The Long: She was adopted by a 1/2 orc Iroran monk as a baby and raised in monastery-like conditions in Nirmathas. Although she had the fortitude to to learn martial and ascetic life, she did not have the discipline for it. However, the mental training and meditation unlocked her potential for supernatural powers and now, she can move things with her mind. Knowing her adopted father could not help her, she left to ‘find herself’ and learn to push her boundaries, both physically and mentally.

DUDE! That's so cool! Good to see you again!
I'm sorry we lost out on not finishing the Ironfang Invasion AP (that was an intense game), but Govrina lives again it seems. Albeit a little different this time around.
BTW: I noticed that some of the players have Drawbacks and extra Traits. I was thinking about getting the Focused Mind trait, but passed on it since we are only allowed 2. If I can, I will go ahead and take the 'Meticulous' Drawback so I can get the Focused Mind trait as well.
@GM Nightfiend: With my Hero points, should I only start with 1? I know max is 3 and I'm third level, but I thought only 1 point would probably be more appropriate starting out where she is.

The drawback is acceptable and yes on one hero point. I don't think I covered that with Gravi either, but it would be the same for him.
So Bryndis is just bebopin' on up in here like she owns the place while we're tryin' to sleep? Yeah that tracks honestly. :P
I think Talienda and Alina have been out for at least 6 hours at the point that Bryndis comes in, though we may have a new person to put under guard. Boy, this is going to be fun. I think I'll wait to see if Govrina winds up in the same room as the rest of us fugitives. :D

Hey, Bryndís told Talienda and Alina they would be safe at The White Deer. Her word is her bond.
She did. I was being silly. Consider that a NAT 1 on my Perform(Comedy) check.
Still, I've stayed up 30+ hours before and generally I wound up sleeping the next eighteen. Both Talienda and Alina are going to be exhausted even though they've been asleep since about midday.
Speaking of, it's about midday during Gravi's and Govrina's escapade at the Pixie's Kitten, so it looks like we're a few hours ahead of them in your post. That's why I decided to wait. I wanted to see how much noise happens and if this it the first or second time Talienda's gotten woken up.

Bryndís did not say she wouldn't be overbearing about it. :p
