| DM Carbide |
It's prepared spells. Spontaneous casters are unaffected.
One quick reconnoiter later, the party determines that there's nothing of interest in the room.
There's a hallway going south from the room with the crystals, which appears to open up after 25 feet or so.
| DM Carbide |
Camina starts down the hall and sees something flit across the open area to the south. It's hard to make out details, but in its size, shape, and flight style it's similar to Vellestir.
Shenendril al-Ranginori
|
Shenendril blanches, remembering what happened the last time she faced a dragon. It wasn't that long ago and wasn't very pleasant.
"I'm just going to hang back a little bit, but I have you covered," she says, gesturing with her bow.
Kridash Magath
|
Ash pulls out his bow again and makes a few brisk steps to take Camina's side. "More? Where?" he looks ahead.

Ryskovich

Ryskovich lets out a slight *sigh* as he properly stores his blade and draws/nocks an arrow in his bowstring.
this time I’ll be ready he thinks to himself. He tries his best to hide in the shadows.
stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
| DM Carbide |
Ash doesn't see any other signs of movement, though he can see the area where Camina points clearly with his darkvision.
Kridash Magath
|
"I'll go first." Ash whispers. "Keep up and let's see what we got." he smiles towards the party and heads forward slowly and as quietly as he can.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
| DM Carbide |
Ash and Camina glance west into one of the other rooms and see nothing moving, although the floor is littered with piles of humanoid bones that have been sorted by type. A tibia sharpened to a point lies near a circle scratched on the ground.
Then the half-orc noiselessly enters a hall whose walls are carved with hundreds of, well, the ones that Ash can read appear to be names. They are in dozens of different languages, though, and only Ash's experience as a Pathfinder enables him to recognize that some of the ones written in Common are as well. Most have been defaced by claw marks in the stone. As with the side chamber, nothing moves here, but Ash thinks he hears movement to the east.
Kridash Magath
|
What does the circle look like? Is it ornamental or something? Perhaps something that looks magical and/or runic to me, without having any experience in arcane arts?
Ash looks around the place curiously. The bones on the floor are definitely concerning to him. He makes a disgusted grimace and turns back to Catalina to beckon the group to come in. He points to his ears and then points to the direction where he heard the noise from.
Shenendril al-Ranginori
|
Shenendril moves up but makes sure to keep someone beefier between herself and potential danger.
She tries to get a good look at the circle once she gets close enough to see it.
Spellcraft or Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
| DM Carbide |
If the circle ever had any supernatural significance, it's long gone.
Kridash Magath
|
"Guess it's not that kind of a circle." Ash seems conflicted.
"Okay get back. I will spearhead this."
The half-orc pushes forward towards the corner, and peeks in. "Hello? Anyone in there?"
| DM Carbide |
Nothing responds to the half-orc' question. Ash looks around the corner (where Camina saw the small dragon fly from) and sees that the lists of names continue into the adjoining room.
| DM Carbide |
Shenendril glances over Ash's head, and as she turns back to look where the small dragon had gone (and keep in mind that right now she's between Ash and where the dragon might have gone) she catches a glimpse of something moving in the south entrance to the room. It's harder to see than it should be, considering the sylph's darkvision, and by the time she can focus on it it's gone.
Shenendril al-Ranginori
|
Shenendril reflexively brings her bow around toward the motion she saw. She draws back but before she can get a target, it's gone.
"Guys, there's definitely something down here. I would feel a lot better if a big, strong, tough man would lead the way in checking it out," she says.
Camina G
|
Camina creeps up as quietly as she can, having not enjoyed her last brush with a dragon.
stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
| DM Carbide |
Camina slinks noiselessly forward to the southern opening into the room, where Shenendril saw the movement. The catfolk doesn't see anything, but can hear sounds of something like shuffling steps from somewhere around the corner.
| DM Carbide |
The dragonet rounds the corner and sees...not a dragon, but three humanoid skeletons in armor, carrying steel shields and longswords.

I'm not sure whose token that is at the bottom of our hallway, but if it's Vellestir or another tiny creature, Camina will move through their space.
'Rush it' very much on her mind, Camina dashes down the hall and around the corner. Seeing three scary-looking minions down there, she skids into the adjoining hallway.
Did they see me? They definitely saw me, she panics.
Not being able to hide, she readies a punch (fighting defensively) in case someone steps into the intersection.
| DM Carbide |
FYI, the ceiling here is low enough here that Vellestir is reachable with melee weapons.
| DM Carbide |
Indeed it is!

The skeletons hustle forward, the one in the lead whispering, "...you...you cut off the source...die, now...." Camina punches at it and misses. It turns and cuts at her, but she dances out of the way. Unfortunately, the second one in line hits her, even with the cover from the corner. Take 11 HP, Camina.

Ryskovich
|
Since I never kept up with moving my character I’ll say I stayed back. But since it’s a straight line I can essentially ‘run’ to the point on the map I placed him currently so next round I can do stuff
Ryskovich snaps out of whatever trance he is in as he hears a commotion up ahead. He races as fast as his legs can take him to get closer to help out his companions.
Zeta Forli

Zeta moves forward, simultaneously commanding the Wellestir to retreat. She tightens her grip on the halberd with both hands and prepares to strike as soon as the enemy approaches.

Ouch, these skellingtons have sharp swords.
Camina doesn't like her odds against a colummn of champions, so decides to aid Ash in fighting Yellow. She takes a swipe at its face, trying to distract it.
I think that you can use Aid Another in combat in combination with fighting defensively, since Aid Another is an attack roll. If so, that's what I'll do. If not, please disregard the -4 I'm taking on the attack and +2 AC in my stat block.

|
Shenendril looks down at her bow, then at the skeletons, then back at her bow and tries to figure out how she could possibly break enough bones to do any real damage with an arrow.
Her spells all require her to touch her target so that's not really an option.
Then, she remembers a trick she learned from her concordance pals.
She summons up a dart of acid and sends it at the yellow skeleton after moving up to block the passage from the undead if someone needs to retreat.
Acid Dart (ranged touch, into melee): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 4 = 15
Acid Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

“Stop hurting our companions!!!“ the Aphorite shouts.

Ryskovich will curse to himself as his lack of preparation and lack of discipline has caused him to be out of position. He stays out until things clear up in front of him.

| DM Carbide |
I thought Zeta was moving up behind Ash. Could you clarify that?
Kridash Magath

Ash attempts a similar meneuver. This time, he does not slam his head into the wall, but slips and the skeleton stops his advance by a hit from heir weapon.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
"Damn, these skeletons are like ... the BEST walls ever. Gotta make a fence out of you when we're done, Bonnie."

Zeta sighs. On the one hand, it's good that we have trapped the skeletons in a narrow corridor. On the other hand, it's bad that we're trapped in a narrow corridor.
delay
| DM Carbide |
Despite his best efforts to dodge as he tries to push past, the skeletal champion hits Ash solidly for 12 HP. Assuming that Zeta held an attack from somewhere well behind Ash, leaving room for Sakura to advance: Sakura chops over Ash's shoulder at the skeleton, but misses. Ryskovich and Zeta delay, while Shenendril barely misses the lead skeleton with an acid dart. Shen had a -4 penalty for shooting into melee, and then the skeleton had +4 AC due to cover from Camina.
As the occultist retreats, she thinks she hears the sound of flapping wings to the north....

Shenendril focuses her mental powers and pierces the veil between planes to summon a creature from the beyond.
What comes through is an evil destroying killing machine.
