Right, forgot about that. It's been a while since I did a PbP GM game. Editable Link.

Done. Where've you been? Haven't seen you for awhile.
Mostly working on Pathfinder Infinite stuff and taking a break from PbP for a while. Sometimes, PbP just feels like work instead of like playing a game, you know?
Working on the Infinite stuff has been pretty rewarding, but I'm especially excited about the Thaumaturge and it has quickly become my favorite class of all time.

True. Though being a fan of play-by-mail (or email, or in this case, post), it's a pretty good medium -- I just have to make sure I don't overextend...
| GM NovelEnigma |
I like that PbP offers a bit deeper roleplay for your character, though sometimes the walls of text can get a bit overwhelming. Of course, the scheduling is always a nice benefit too.
| GM NovelEnigma |
We are up to 5 players signed up, so I went ahead and posted a small start in Gameplay.

Your intro's actually way better than the actual text. Makes more sense... Not sure if you accept glyphs for this one, but I have 2 to share.
| GM NovelEnigma |
Thanks; I haven't run a bounty before, but I felt like I could come up with something other than you're just at the right location suddenly. Thanks to running it as a PFS scenario, it helps give some possible context.
Shayla Quickfingers

Bounties are set as "in-between" adventure types... though the intro to this one is kind of a head scratcher because it's already assuming you've accepted the job...

I like them because they are them because are usually one big set piece of a combat. Because I like roleplaying but I also enjoy a good fight.

btw, I have played and run this so I'll let those who haven't take the lead.

Currently in the hospital. My dad was rushed here tonight. Pls bot me if needed.

I'll resume posting tomorrow. Dad is fine and stable. Just need to recover from the emergency. :)

That's great news!

I'm going to be keeping my dad company in the hospital tomorrow so posting might slow a bit, depending on whether I can get a good enough wifi signal.

Added a question mark for last known location. You don't know which direction it went.

I haven't really had to Seek in combat yet, so it'll be interesting. If I had more level 2 spells, Mirtha would just nuke the whole forest with Sudden Blight instead.

I like the changes to it. Seek either makes you choose 30' cone or 15' burst within your line of sight to choose where on the map to begin looking.
Then takes a secret perception roll so if you fail to meet their stealth DC you have no clue if it was due to a failure or if you were just searching the wrong spot.

GM, can we get a status update on the creature?
Which of the "Degrees of Detection" currently apply to him?
| GM NovelEnigma |
The king is observed; he just has cover against most of you because of the Wall of Thorns

what do I need to do to jump the fence or is it too high for Shayla to jump over?

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
GM NovelEnigma wrote:Any reason you're only using one action, Serj? I'm assuming you'll command your robot to move around the wall as well?Awaiting your adjudication.
This is your second time speed-bot-delaying me.
The only action you took was Explosive Leap, I'm not that experienced with Inventor, but I don't see anything I need to do adjudicate; you jump 30 feet. If you have a question please ask it in out of character text. Additionally, I didn't delay you, I had you command your robot to move around the wall and to Raise a Shield, which I then Shield Blocked with based on your previous actions.

Darn, this was one of my favorite characters I've ever made and I don't think I'm going to survive this one. I foolishly used my hero point rerolling that Diplomacy check, but that poison would probably kill her anyways. Learn from my mistake and save your hero points for crit fails and dying condition!
Anyways since I'm most likely dead, please avenge me!
Mirtha Darklight
|
Ok, so just to be clear, the only way Mirtha has any chance of survival is if she gets healing this round. She is at dying 2 and taking recurring damage, which she she very well not save against. I think one of you has Battlefield Medicine.
Or even better lay on hands!
| GM NovelEnigma |
Yeah, unfortunately dying with poison or persistent on you is brutal. The King is almost dead though, just a few more good hits and we can finish the bounty!
Kaclenna Eentrays
|
This is a Bounty and while it is played with PFS Characters it is played in Adventure Mode.
The main difference is that what happens to PCs during a bounty isn't permanent to include negative effects. If you TPK, you don't have to report all the PCs as dead, for example.
Mirtha Darklight
|
Really? That's a relief. This is my favorite 2nd ed character, but by the gods full casters are fragile! She gets taken down by a critical hit in half the scenarios I've played.
| GM NovelEnigma |
Critical Hits from monsters tends to be pretty deadly, especially when you're fighting a solo boss enemy; and yeah, no real worries about dying!
Kaclenna Eentrays
|
Indeed, that is one of the sole reasons they made the shift on bounties to be Adventure Mode. Those beginning ones were TPKing groups left and right and they were meant to be sort adventures to help draw in newer players.

Mirtha will wake up from a bad dream and miraculously, have some extra change in her pocket :)
Shayla Quickfingers
|
Chronicle looks good! Thanks GM!
Mirtha Darklight
|
Yes, thank you for GMing. And I think Mirtha is going to spend some of her new found pocket change on some antidotes, because it's dawning on me how dangerous poisons can be. They were seldom an issue in 1e.

You planning to do any other bounty? Shayla hasn't played B18 or the new B20...

Probably not right now, but maybe in the future I'll run some more.
