--- Inside ---
With this, Eiravor moves to the pack, checks its contents, takes it and makes his way towards the barn's exit.
As soon as Eiravor picks up the pack, two men nimbly jump down from the barn's loft - "That is far enough boyos - give us the egg and no one needs to get hurt" - they grunt, drawing steel. They wield a sword in one hand, and a net on the other.
--- Outside ---
Kha'lessa moves so she can be seen from the inside and continues to talk to them You look like you're up to no good. Are you being bad boys?
At this, and the commotion from inside the barn, the three draw their weapons - the half-orc leader wielding two wicked looking maces - "You're gonna regret being a smart ass" - he snarls, while the others snicker.
Round 1 - Good guys GO!
Ragnar Redbrew |
So, I'm guessing outside they draw their weapons before I exit the barn? Did I draw my Warhammer?
Assuming I did draw it, I move to U5 and attack what I believe is the "half-orc leader wielding two wicked looking maces"
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Attack: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Now, now mate is that how ya talk to a lady! (I say this as I attack the half-orc)
talking to our group
Let's take this one down and I bet the others will flee like the rats they are!
Eiravor Dorborin |
Aaawwh gods f%&& it, I knew it!
Eiravor wants to put on the backpack while running for cover (Q8).
That bail of hay right beside Q8 is probably around waist high, no? That would give Eiravor half cover from outside and full cover from the two baddies dropped from the loft right?
GM - Obermind |
Waist high bail of hay = Half Cover. A target with half cover has a +2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws. A target has half cover if an obstacle blocks at least half of its body. The obstacle might be a low wall, a large piece of furniture, a narrow tree trunk, or a creature, whether that creature is an enemy or a friend.
Kha’lessa |
Kha'lessa starts to fill a bit unprotected but she keeps her grin as she unleashes her magic
I want to move back as far as I can while still casting a spell. It has a range of 120 feet so I thing it will be enough. I'll attack the same one as Ragnar
eldricht blast: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 61d10 ⇒ 6
Obermind, I had a ready action, that doesn't work with these rules?
Armantaro Starbreeze |
Obermind I had a ready action also. I'll post for both cases.
Ready action:
Armantaro shoots the one he can see
Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
after ready action:
Armantaro moves to S7 and shoots the same target as Ragnar
Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

--- Round 1 ---
As Eiravor ducks behind some hay stacks, Ragnar wades in on the half-orc, hitting it with a strong swing. The thug turns and snarls, but still stands - "I guess I'll be talking to you then"
Kha'lessa unleashes a magical attack which misses, scorching the side of the barn instead.
Moved you back 6 squares = 30'
Armantaro shoots and hits one of the bandits, but his second attack goes wide.
For future reference, since no one surprised anyone, there are no ready actions taking place before the combat. We assume all go on initiative. For now I will accept Armantaro's readied action so we can move along. Also for reference on your bow shots Armantaro - here is a link to Cover rules in D&D5e
"Get that b%%!%" - the half-orc growled at the bandit behind him, while he and his companion ganged on Ragnar. They seem to be trained in fighting together, and their combined attacks score nasty wounds on the dwarf.
Ragnar takes a scimitar slash + a club to the face, for a total of 6 points of damage!
The other bandit closed in on Kha'lessa, his breath foul as he threatened her with a semi-toothless grin - "Lemme see ye try that again she demon!"
Inside the barn, one of the attackers went straight for Armantaro, swinging his scimitar in a wide arc, but failing by a mile.
The other one pressed in on Eiravor - "Here kitten, don't run..." - he was a dark skinned, emaciated one, almost all skin and bones - yet he swung his weapon with deadly accuracy at the Bard.
Eiravor takes 2 points of damage!
--- Round 2 ---
Good guys GO!
7d20 ⇒ (17, 11, 4, 16, 10, 8, 14) = 80
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Eiravor Dorborin |
Eiravor draws his rapier and attacks the cheeky foe...
Hav'ye'ver been clawed by a kitten, berk?
Attack/Dmg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
After the attack, Eiravor shouts
... and once this kitten's clawed ye, ye'll suffer the bite of the LION, Ragnar!!!
(Using Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action, for Ragnar)
