Persuasion with Szarith: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Let me be plain then, I will get out, and/or have as many of these clowns suffer Nahyndris fate. Do you have anything to lose but your chains? You in?

She focuses on her acting skills as she weaves her deception.
Having been hit before, attempts to pretend to be confused and very afraid, as if her own mind played a trick on her and she psychologically beliefed the staff to be working.
Arcana: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Alexandra tries to figure out what is going on, magically. Did she understand anything on account of speaking Abyssal?
If yes she tries to hide that.
Presumably more of a divine spell, but why are they going so nuts? Alexandra thinks.
As she does so, she focuses inwardly on trying to transmit her current field of vision to her client in case she gets outright killed.
Mylady, you have any idea what this is? Even if not, seems unusual. They may be about to kill me on account of insanity and tit based deficieny, or lack of good tit-based deficiency to be more precise. I am glad to have met you. Perhaps this information will help in extracting a degree of vengeance later.
Insight: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 As well as psychologically.
They are showing dissent, weakness and limits in their power in front of both their slaves and their superiors. From reputation, Drow society is fiercely competetive? Something is completely off here, but I cant put my finger on it. Alexandra thinks, mind racing.

I meant patron not client, early morning post, also, I reckon I shall soon be glad I have 16 Con o.O
What was that language? Abyssal doesnt do that to your ears and can actually sound quit pleseant. Dark tounge perhaps? Heard of it but have no idea how it works Alexandra thinks.

Sarith smiled in genuine amusement - he had quite a lovely smile, perhaps for being so rare. "You think you're getting out? How refreshingly optimistic. No, you will go to Menzoberranzan and be sold to the highest bidder, just as I will go to Menzoberranzan and be "made an example of" in a spectacularly public fashion. Though," he mused, "the supply patrol from there is a few days late, which is unusual. Still, you don't have a chance."
He put up his hands in surrender as Alexandra opened her mouth to argue, and he smiled again. "Very well! If you make a plan that isn't suicidal, I will help. If you want help on the outside, Jorlan is your best bet. Ilvara chucked him after he was disfigured, replacing him with Shoor. He's pretty bitter, and may be happy to help embarrass his replacement."
After Ilvara and Asha do whatever they're doing, when Alexandra tries to contact her patron within the slave cave, she gets no response. All she can hear is static.

Chucked him and didnt make elementary precautions against getting backstabbed or betrayed, such as killing him? Heh, didnt take her for a sentimental one. Alexandra chuckles in spite of her newfound misfortune, as a plan of moderaty to pretty decent cunning forms in her head.
I wonder if whatever waylaid the supply patrol will use the out of powerness of our most charming hostesses as an invitation.
If this is timed with a funky little bit of vengefull lover backlash, well, it just may work. I have embarassed Asha, therefore I am clearly capable of embarassing Shor yes? What did you do though? Murder a Female superior? If so, hats off to you good Sir. May many others follow in that part of your footsteps.

While the shift works on the Trillimac, Ksenia regales Ziyad and Jimjar about the food that she found behind her magically having not noticed at any point any of what happened other than when Stool told her the food was there. "Anyway, I might be a witch, because I wished for it and POOF! Food was there. I'm just lucky Stool noticed and mentioned it to me. Have y'all seen him eat? Tentacles!
Ksenia tsks at the prickly layer of the Trillimac and at the awkwardness of the saw but after flexing and testing it a bit on the odd stalks realizes that it's not terribly different from some of the thicker skinned gourds on the surface. "Like a Greasenut Gourd." She mutters, and yelps at a spine digging into her finger tip. "Cross bred with a particularly angry cactus."

Stool seemed surprised she wanted to talk to the fishman - the little sprout said, ::The kuo-toa are dangerous! Most dangerous!:: This was surprising, as the fishman had been calm and silent so far. Hiding a bit behind Maddy, Stool sent the thought.
The response was immediate. ::Hello, surface-walker! I am Shuushar, the Awakened! I am pleased to speak to you. I did not know the little one could speak like this, you are a clever little mushroom, aren't you? I have been here for longer than you, but not much:: He exuded a mental aura of calmness and balance. ::I am from Sloobludop, a town of my people near the Darklake. It is many days from here.::
Maddy looked slightly confused at Stool’s initial response when she asked to speak with the fishman. ::What makes the kuo-toa dangerous? He hasn’t done anything aggressive that I’ve seen::
The friendly nature of the kuo-toa bewilders Maddy as she had been preparing herself for a response more like Ront. She hid a smile, ::Nice to meet you Shuushar. I’m Maddy and this is Stool and Topsy. I haven’t heard of Sloobludop before but I haven’t ever traveled very far from my village in my life. I have no idea how many days my village is from here because I don’t know where here is. Do you know where we are?::
Maddy made a mental note of what she saw when the drow guard descended from the trap door. The weapons would be helpful if they could get in somehow. She’d tell the others once they got back to the slave cave. Maybe some of the smarter ones would figure out how they could use this info to help in their escape.
The young blonde woman braced herself for the kick that never came. Her eyes widened as Ilvara released her hands with a motion. Stool didn’t need to translate her curse for Maddy to know that she was pretty upset. She only hoped that the drow who made the mistake and put the gloves on her would be punished accordingly. If they could create enough internal conflict among the drow then maybe they’d have a better chance to get free and escape.
Shift 5, slave cave
As usual, Maddy was tired when she was returned to the slave cave. She was barely chained to the wall before Ilvara made an appearance dragging Asha along. The fact that she was being dragged by her hair gave Maddy some hope that there was discord between the two female drow. However, her heart sank again as Asha took her own anger out on Alex.

Maddy took the opportunity to share what she had learned in the guard tower with the others, ::We were tasked with cleaning up after a fight in the guard tower, there was blood. While we were there I caught a glimpse into the room through the trap door. There are weapons up there but I don’t know how we could get up there. I’m handy with a greatsword. I wonder if mine might be up there…anyways, Ilvara looked real upset when she saw me and realized the gloves were put on me by mistake.::

Did you notice any specific phrase that was said to deactivate the gloves? I have quite a varied skillset on combat, but these things would reduce this by quite a bit. But lets see if we can ramp up dissent between our gracious hosts a bit more! Alexandra visualizes a mental image of drow, kicking each other in the asses and propagating a stream of one drow kicking the next drow, without realizing that they are arranged in a circle, to inject some upbeat mood into things.
We know where weapons are, we know both priestesses are currently out of evil-juice, we know another source of dissent in their ranks between the Drow called Shoor and a Drow called Jorlan. All things we didnt knew when the day started! And all it cost for now is that you charming fellows are temporarily bereft of the excellent massages I can theoretically give!
I kind of miss the irrepressible trait from pathfinder, but thats not going to stop Alex!

Shift 4
My burning question is - are we going on a mission immediately? If yes, will I be able to cast Speak with Animals spell somewhere unnoticed (right before the descent or something - it only works for 10 minutes)? If no, will I be able to meditate and re-prepare spells?

Sarith raised a white eyebrow. "Why kill a man, when you can torture him? Jorlan won't make a direct move against Ilvara, he's no fool. But he might be on board to embarrass her."
When Alexandra asked him about his past, his face clouded over. "They say I murdered another guard. That I had a fit of madness, and tore him apart." He grimaced. "I don't remember that. But I'll be sacrificed to Lolth as an example." He tried to repress a shudder, but failed.
Maddy looked slightly confused at Stool’s initial response when she asked to speak with the fishman. ::What makes the kuo-toa dangerous? He hasn’t done anything aggressive that I’ve seen::
::They're all crazy!:: Stool asserted, and sent Maddy an image of a group of fishmen, tearing through and murdering myconids. Then there was a pause, and he added grudgingly, ::This one hasn't been mean. Yet.::

The kua-toa shrugged his scaled shoulders. (Do fish have shoulders?) ::We are here. Valkynvelve, the captors call it. Deeplake is that way,:: he pointed over his shoulder, ::the surface is up.::
@Kalanzar. Who are you asking? During the spider shift, you don't know anything about upcoming opportunities. If you want to cast a spell unnoticed, you'll need to roll for stealth. If you want to try to get an egg, you'll need to describe the attempt and roll accordingly.
In fact, that goes for everybody. The NPCs are mostly feeling friendly towards you, and if you ask them to assist in anything, they'll do so. But they're not going to do things for you, while you sit back. So if you want a knife, describe the attempt, and what you'd like Jimjar to do, and make your rolls. If you want to speak to any of the specific drow, you can assume that you catch sight of them and get their attention. It's not a big outpost, and you see pretty much everybody at some point within a day or two.
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Going on a limb here. I would imagine that getting a 1:1 conversation with Jorlan is not that easy, but Alex has CHA 17, worships Nocticula and Jorlan is forcefully single.
As soon as an opportunity presents, Alexandra will seek to catch the eye of Jorlan.
Who may be slightly interested in her because she may have a recently acquired reputation as the most dangerous slave, in light of how much resources have been devoted to keep her locked down.
persuasion/deception to bargain with Jorlan: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Вы случайно, мой добрый сэр высочайшей культуры, не говорите на более интересном языке, чем общепринятый?
To catch his attention.
He may not neccessarily speak abyssal, but can probably recognice it for Abyssal given that drow dick around with demons for a fair bit.Kind of difficult to in character describe what I am trying to do, as the big sell is convincing him that this was his own idea, which is difficult in PbP.
You would not by chance, my good sir of the highest culture, speak a more interesting language then undercommon?
If she can strike up a conversation, out of earshot of guards, either elfish or abyssal:
I believe I have proven my potential and capability in embarassing certain individuals, and I further believe that you have good cause to humiliate them as well. I further believe that I could benefit from you most knowledgeable instruction of whom to embarass.
Would it, strictly hypothetically speaking, not considerably further your own options and interests if, while you sent out a group of chose scouts to investigate why the supply patrol is not coming, a slave escape happens on account of good sir Shoors competence, or lack thereoff? And what if furthermore you heroically and competently arrive to save the day, having already recaptured valuable merchandise? But I am of course just a stupid slaves who cannot cast magic, know what a supply patrol is or is aware which way they would be coming from.
And who does not exactly has the capability of escape from her slavish predicament or even her new handgear without the subtle aid of a most dashing gentlemen?
Alex quickly glances at Ronc when mentioning the valuable merchandise.
Towards Menzoberranzan, when mentioning the supply patrol way.
insight: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 to gauge his reaction.

::They're all crazy!:: Stool asserted, and sent Maddy an image of a group of fishmen, tearing through and murdering myconids. Then there was a pause, and he added grudgingly, ::This one hasn't been mean. Yet.::
Maddy gasped at the pictures projected into her mind. ::I'm sorry that happened to your kind. I will make sure that doesn't happen to you. I'll protect you so it'll be okay to talk to the fishman::
The kua-toa shrugged his scaled shoulders. (Do fish have shoulders?) ::We are here. Valkynvelve, the captors call it. Deeplake is that way,:: he pointed over his shoulder, ::the surface is up.::

"I meditated," Shuushar, with a wide grin. "My people have a reputation for...giving in to their base emotions. I have spent my life in contemplation and solitude, in an attempt to overcome our legacy of madness. If it is to be that I return one day, I hope to help lead my fellow kua-toans to an awakened future."
If Ziyad has a bit of fleece from somewhere, he could Minor Illusion a saw on top of the saw-pile, while Jimjar hides the real one.
"...Jimjar, want to bet?"
The deep gnome perked up. "Always! What's the play?"
Jimjar has a bit of fleece in his pocket. Describe your spell and roll stealth to conceal it from your guards.Alex's interaction with Jorlan
Jorlan clearly doesn't understand Abyssal, but the sound of the language catches his attention. When the human woman switches to Elven, he struggles to keep up with her, he clearly isn't fluent. However, he catches her meaning well enough.
His face blank, he stares at her for a long moment. Finally he mutters, "You be careful with your words. Too many will cost you your tongue." He walked away, but it was clear to Alexandra that he was musing over her words.
Shift 4
Ilvara gave the signal, and Ront picked Turvy up and flung her over the edge, letting her free-fall until she landed in the web. The gnome shrieked, then clapped her hands over her mouth. She peered around in the darkness, her keen eyes able to see 120 feet out into the darkness. Kalanzar could see too, and eventually saw a large shape crawling over the web towards her. "Pull me up!" she demanded, her voice a squeak.
Ront pulled her up part way, then dropped her down again, about 20 feet further along. A second giant spider began to move towards her.
"Now," Ilvara demanded of Kalanzar and Sarith. "Take the potion, and fetch those eggs."

After a few moments of haggling and erudite discussions on odds and probability "...that's right. I'll manifest a false one while you stow away the real." with that, Ziyad took a bit of fleece and blew into it, causing the strands to glow white have a stretchy, gooey quality. Pondering her situation, Alex takes stock of things.
Now, is there anything else I can do, that my connection to my client is interrupted is interesting. I do not know if it is just in the cave, or in general. What did I see? Webs? These are both to trap and to detect, and it is just like the boob-less-b#~%&es to have some type of detection/divination magic infused in their s$##ty spell so that they get pinged if I try to contact Lady Ekaterina. This is of course Paranoia, but it is not as if she could currently offer much in terms of assistance anyway. I shall refrain from contacting her, or attempting to do so, until we actually go loud.
Alex does, in the slave camp, talk with Bupido as he remains something of a mystery to her yet.
Speaking Elfish and trying common if he does not understand elfish she asks.

Shift 4
Yes, mistress. Kalanzar makes a bow and drinks the potion, after which he rushes to complete the task first. He wants to overtake Serith and break away from him for some distance.
As he climbs down, his eyes are feverishly shining, and his lips are whispering a prayer, remembering the entire pantheon of deities associated with darkness, night, moon and stars.
At some point, glancing back and making sure that there is a chance to cast a spell unnoticed, he will ask the gods of natural darkness for the generous gift of talking to animals - but he will do it so that it is not noticeable...
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
The second part of the 'plan' is to be able to steal an egg (how many are there?).
I absolutely don't understand what I'm doing, but it's not for nothing that the gods brought me to the animals of the underdark?... Oh! Serith shouldn't notice, let alone Ivarra.
Slight of Hand: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Hurriedly hiding one of the sticky eggs under his clothes, at the same time taking the other one noticeably for the guards, Kalanzar freezes with fear, realizing what fate awaits him if he will be noticed.
In case this is not enough, he turns to the spiders who are now passionate about Turvy... (here I have a question - how does it sound to others? does the druid make animal sounds or just speak normally in any language and animals understand him? If the second option is then I will choose the druid language so that no one understands it)
You don't know me, but I'm your friend. A real friend. There's a lot of food upstairs. Why don't you go up and eat it all? If you come up to my voice when I call you later, then I will feed you to your fill with fresh delicious meat.
Ziyad
Nice hehe, yeah those kind of rolls are the ones I remember later ...pure luck. That's twice now...I better not push it. ;)
The gith nodded at Ksenia, a request fulfilled. Ziyad saw the wisdom of acquiring such a tool...if they were to escape securing food from the Trillimacs would be much more difficult without them. He was less sure how he would ever repay his fast-fingered friend.

Sarith perception vs egg theft: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Speak with animals crunch: I'll leave that up to you. You can speak a language you know and its the magic that translates, or the magic allows you to make animal noises. Your call, but once you pick, stick with it.
Sarith perception vs spider chat: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Wow he sucks
Sarith is visibly nervous as he gulps the spiderclimb potion, and crawls down the wall. It isn't the height that bothers him, it's clearly the spiders. He gives them wide berth, and does his work quickly, constantly looking over his shoulder at the huge arachnids.
Meanwhile, Ront toys with Turvy, letting the spiders get very close before pulling her up, and one time even dropped her back down on a spider's back. The drow guard are distracted, amused by the spectacle. Turvy has stopped screaming; her eyes are shut tight and she is making quiet little whimpering noises to herself.
There are six eggs, and Kalanzar manages to secret one away in his ragged underclothes without anybody knowing. As he returns to the wall, he speaks to one of the spiders, which turns to look curiously at him.
Meat? The Mistress forbids the meat upstairs. Only meat which falls in our web is allowed. There is a clear feeling of fear coming from the spider.
Persuasion roll, or something else that makes sense, if you want to continue to try and make friends.

Buppido looked confused by her words, and said something in the rolling brogue of the dwarven language to Ksenia. Coming to the end of her chain, Ksenia waited for Alex to say it again in common, then translated.
Buppido, his thin white eyebrows raised, said, "Most assuredly. I am happy to cooperate with all my fellow prisoners. For is there not strength in numbers? If we trust each other and work together, who knows what we can accomplish!"

In the slave cave with Jimjar
I offer a trade, Abyssal insults for undercommon ones? Its a pretty great language for swearing.
Angie H
Prince Derendil, Topsy, Eldeth and Stool were taken away for the next shift, leaving the rest to eat and rest. Kalanzar, being chained nearest the door this time, was roused from his meditation by a conversation happening just outside the cave.
1st voice: "...I didn't ask why. Her ladyship says do it, I do it."
2nd voice: "It just seems like a waste. Slaves are worth good money."
1st: "I think Nadal's coming back with a few, and we're out of chains. Might as well get rid of the least valuable to make room for the new ones. And I'd rather those spiders had full bellies."
Kalanzar heard the rattle of keys as guards approached the slave cave door, then saw Shoor crossing the bridge from the guard tower towards them. "Hold," he called out, and the two guards turned to him, bowing their heads respectfully.
"Change of plans, come with me."
The guard hesitated, saying, "Her ladyship said..."
Sneering, Shoor said, "I speak for Ilvara. There's time for the cull later."
The three drow passed in front of cave, heading north down the stairs. 2nd: "Sir, is it true, about demons in the city?"
Shoor: "There's always demons in the city."
2nd:"But the resupply, it's so late."
Shoor, scoffing: "Stop listening to gossip. We'll know more..."
They passed out of earshot.

Ksenia, I dont think we talked much yet actually.
at some point after you have been fitted with the gloves
"I took a look at Maddy's gloves - these look to be the same - and I think that I can get them off with a careful bit of dagger work." Ksenia says, and points at the gloves while being careful not the touch them. "The runes are what zaps you if you try to untie them, so if you slice them off real careful like so the blade slices between the runes, they should come right off."
Ksenia taps a finger to her lips. "No hiding it once it's done though, so it'd need to be not done until we were enacting our escape plan. Which I assume is magnificent."
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Past with Ksenia
That would be useful, alas A) we need a dagger, B) once we do this we are essentially going rebelling.
Present
They plan to cull the least worthwhile slaves? S$$+, we need to get a move on. Interesting news about Demons, confirmation that the supply convoy is not coming.
Magnificent escape plan? Alexandra chuckles. I may have put one in motion, its a longshot and is in part out of our hands sadly, guards being recruited for other duties bodes somewhat well though. Fewer of them present, less bad odds for us.

But there's so much delicious meat up there. The main thing is to come at the right moment when the Mistress is sleeping and you can eat it all!
Persuasion: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Even Kalanzar thought that his words sounded unconvincing. Well, then...
Good. We will return to this issue soon. A plan continued to form in Kalanzar's mind. One question. How many of you are here? If I decide to feed you all, I have to understand how much meat to bring...
As for the question about languages, I think that this is any human language that becomes understandable to animals. Not all animals communicate using sound (or only sound), for example... So otherwise it looks weird.

How many? How many are we? The spiders seemed uncertain about the concept of numbers. Instead, one of them plucks the web, making it vibrate. It plucks it three times, then hesitates, then plucks twice more.

Less than two hours after the others are taken away for chores, the guards return with them, attaching their iron belts to the perimeter chains. As they're leaving, Jorlan approaches and has a hurried, whispered conversation with them. The two drow hurry away, leaving Jorlan to lock the gate at the front of the cage. Saying nothing, the scarred drow casts a significant look into the cage, then walks away, leaving it closed, but unlocked.

Kalanzar smiles, realizing that spiders don't need to be able to count. Returning back, he will try to find at least something that looks like a piece of food. A crumb of flatbread, an edible fungus, and so on.

Stool my friend, can you include everyone but Ronc in your telepathic communications? If you fear Slushar too much, I will of course not force you to include him.
Greetings, I am Alexandra a Warlock, and we are going to break out.
I have convinced Jorlan that it is in his interests for us to escape, to thus humiliate his competitors. The deception will be up as soon as one Drow attempts to open or close the gate, as such we should be ready to move out.

adressing Jimjar, Ksenia and Szarith
Sirs Jimjar and Szarith, Lady Ksenia, could you please proceed with silently unlocking the belts? Lady Ksenia, if you can then undo my gloves as you proposed, I can proceed to make you invisible for one hour until you cast a spell or attack, you could use this to scout ahead, and stealthily procure the weaponry and armor ably reconoitred by Sir Kalanzar while we pretend to be obedient slaves to casual observers.
Does any of you have an understanding of the magic ritual wrought? Is it one that would either alert or captors, or prevent spellcasting within its confines? If yes, or if you deem is plausible, we will adjust the plan and cast the invisibility outside of the slave cave.

I think it is a reasonable ask, biggest risk is on PCs, and the high roll, + revealing I can make someone invisible should be a decent enough hook that this may just work. Calling everyone Sir and Lady is psychology, they were slaves, now they arent.

: I had a plan about spiders. I talked to them. They are hungry, even though they are afraid of the priestess. I think I could use magic to set them on our kidnappers. And I can make sure that they don't attack us. This creates a sense of where and how we should escape from here. :

Ksenia immediately whips out the odd stiff whisker that she squirreled away for attempting to pick locks and immediately sets to work on her own belt.
thieves tools lockpicking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
You meant now, right?
Madison Kokko
Maddy's eyes widened at all the information the others managed to get. All she'd been able to find out was what was through the trap door in the guard tower and that had been more luck than anything.
As Jimjar, Ksenai, and Sarith tried their hands at the locks Maddy added, ::If someone knows how to find weak spots in the chain, I may be able to pull some of the links apart::
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Lets not start our escape with a Nat 1 shall we?
Ksenia I give you my hard earned inspiration. Would be bad if your thieves tools broke right here.
Ksenia Frostforge
I have an inspiration point to burn, so I'll use that one so you're still inspiration loaded!
Ksenia glares as the whisker snaps cleanly in half, then brightens as she realizes that she now has two lock picks and sets to work with both of them at once: thieves tools 2 electric boogaloo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Maddy watched Ziyad study the chains before motioning at a few links that were in reach of the young woman. She moved herself over and grabbed the chain. She took a breath, positioned her hands, and yanked on the metal with all her strength.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

::I wouldn't want to engage a drow right now. Many of us will fall poisoned into unconsciousness. Others will stay to save them and fall in battle. Cowards will escape in too few numbers to the Underdark and find their death there... The Underdark is a monstrously dangerous place. We need food, minimal weapons and escape - not a fight.::
GM now there will be a few clarifying questions in the next thread after which Kalanzar will continue to develop the idea )
Kalanzar Mizzrym
::In general, I suggest doing this. One of you in invisibility passes and opens the door to the stalactite of the drow guards so that spiders can pass through there. I secretly jump on the web, charm them with magic and send them to lunch through the door you open. If something goes wrong with magic, only I will suffer. Then, when the spiders are gone and the drow are busy fighting, we all walk through the web and jump down into the waterfall. What is missing in this plan? Correctly. Supplies. Any suggestions?::

With a great heave and bulging of muscles, Maddy snaps the chain that connects her iron belt to the cave wall.
Guard perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Ugh, fine, he doesn't notice anything for a good few minutes.
Ront, alerted by the sound of breaking metal, looks over to see the human stands free. With a tusky grin, he grunts, "Big deal, I can do that."
Ront strength: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
With a flex of muscles, the orc also snaps his chain, pulling it clear off the iron belt.
Several of the others begin wriggling and pulling, trying to wiggle out of their bonds. Stool simply begins to change shape, lengthening and stretching, until his belt dropps to the floor with a clatter. He then immediately poofs back down to his normal proportions.
Topsy acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Turvy acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Sarith acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Jimjar Thieves tools: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Jimjar Thieves tools on Alex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Jimjar Thieves tools on Alex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Despite their small size, the deep gnome siblings are unable get free of their bonds. Sarith is also unable to get himself free.
Jimjar immediately pulls some improvised picks from under a rock, and makes short work of his bonds. He then moves to Alexandra, saying, "You next, boss. Here, help me by holding this, right here..." However, her locks are in poorer condition, and he's unable to open them.
Okay, here's how it goes. DC 20 Str to break a chain, or DC 20 acrobatics to slip loose. Chains have 15 HP if you want to break them with a rock, but that's noisy. You can use the help action to give somebody else advantage on their roll. If you fail one particular type of roll, you cannot try again. So if Maddy tries to break Ksenia's chain and fails, she can't try again on Ksenia, but she could try anybody else's chain. Jimjar is free and has +5 to his thieves tools. Feel free to roll for him. Ront is free and requires a DC 15 persuasion or intimidation roll to get him to cooperate. Fail by 5 and there will be trouble. If you get Ront to help, he has +5 on his Str rolls. Any questions?
EDIT: I guess I should roll everybody an initial escape attempt.
Buppido STR: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Dererendil acro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Eldeth STR: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Oh good, she'll help too.
Shuushar won't try to free himself, but won't object if somebody tries to free him.
Alexandra Edgaria Poeschkina
Alex tries to wriggle free herself
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Nope
Well Ront, imagine, you with an actual weapon, Drow blood on your blade, Ilvaras severeed head, limply hanging from your hand.
Wouldnt that be fun? But that would need person who can make others invisible be free.
Sensually licking her lips when speaking of Ilvaras severed head.
Persuasion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Alex will aid as much as she can on any attempt to get herself out of the chains.
Ksenia Frostforge
Ksenia, frustrated at her complete inability to pick her own lock: "Must be like how you can't tickle your own feet."
So she tries acrobatics to squeeze out instead: acro: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
She sighs, and turns to Jimjar, "Give me a hand out of these, will ya?"
Jimjar picking Ksenia's belt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Ksenia's belt springs free and she immediately goes to work on Alex's first since Jimjar failed: Ksenia picking Alex's lock: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Is the lock picking also DC20? That determines whether that spring Alex.
Ksenia and Jimjar then go to work one by one on everyone else's belts (whether they've been broken or not, since having a belt with a chain hanging off it is likely not fun long term).
Since Ksenia and Jimjar both have +5 to thieves tools, it doesn't matter if we use the help action for one of us, or just roll sequentially, so I'll roll a bunch of 1d20+5 for the DM to adjudicate!
"It's a race, Jimjar! Whoever unlocks the most owes the other a stolen crown on the other side of the world!" Ksenia declares and jumps to start picking.
As Ksenia moves first to Ront, who is closest, Jimjar raises an eyebrow, "Even him?"
"Even the moral rotgrubs!" Ksenia declares. "We're all free or none of us are free."
I'll roll alternating order, to be fair. If the "first" one succeeds, the second one doesn't happen. I think I got all PCs and NPCs (other than Stool who is already free of his collar, and Alex who was rolled above):
Ront
Ksenia: thieves tools: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Jimjar: thieves tools: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Wooooooo!
Ksenia adds up the score and realizes that Jimjar won 8 to 4. "Impressive! Do you have any preferences as to which crown I steal for you? I'll begin planning the heist forthwith, as soon as we escape the murderous slavers, giant spiders, and endless yawning caverns."
Madison Kokko
Having freed herself, Maddy moved closer to Ziyad and quietly asked him, "Do you think you can do for your own chain what you did for mine? Let me know where to pull?"
Maddy will try to free Ziyad if he can give her insight on the chain to give her advantage :)

Energized by the Alexes flirting, Ront gives Alexs chains a go.
Ront chains Alex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Hope thats OK, I did pass the Persuasion check after all.
With that she is free of the chains, but still wears that awkward Drow bondage gear part.
Well mighty Ront she says gingerly touching his Biceps would it be fun to show the human just how much stronger you are then her? By breaking the Giths chains?
Persuasion Ront: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Gogogo Maddison! Ill roll for Ront!
Ront chains Ziyad: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Good but not quite, but perhaps it damaged the chains?
Persuasion Ront: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Fails but not hard enough.

Ront, Eldeth and Maddy were if I understand correctly already free when you rolled.

Jimjar flipped a pick in the air, grinned as it seemed to vanish as he caught it. "Something delicate, to match my nose. Maybe an elven queen's tiara?"
Persuasion Ront: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Fails but not hard enough.

Ront shook Alexandra off his arm. Scowling, he said, "Stop touching." He glanced at Shuushar, then shook his head. "Fish people are enemies. They're all crazy." Shuushar didn't react, just grinned a hideous, wide-mouthed, toothy grin.
Topsy and Turvy, clutching each other, clustered in behind Eldeth. Darendil, rubbing his chafed waist, said in Elvish, "Is this an escape? Are we finally to be free?"
Jimjar scurried around the cavern, plucking this and that from his various hiding places. Sarith stood, a strange expression on his face, and he traded a glance with Buppido. The derrow shrugged, then cracked his knuckles.
Ront moved towards the door.
I'm hoping Maddy has time to post today, I know Tuesday evenings are often busy for her.

Ront Chain Shushaar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Bleh, with that I have tried my Orc on Ziyad and Shushaar. Current bondage counter: Alex (gloved) Shu-Shaar (chained), Ziyad (chained).
Ksenia my dear, could you and Sir Jimjar perhaps get to work on these gloves? The quicker I am rid of them the quicker I can make you invisible.
in order of likelihood of success
Maddy/Eldeth STR on Ziyad, probably assist from Eldeth?
Maddy/Eldeth STR on Shu-Shaar, probably assist from Eldeth?
Ksenia thiefes tools on Alex Gloves
Jimjar thiefes tools on Alex gloves
Note, Eldeth seems to be STR 18, as she is rolling with a +4.
Hand Szarith thieves tools and let him try, even if not proficient, he probably has 16 Dex so he succeeds on a 12+, which is actually better then str bursts.
