In 5e the player gets 1 action per turn. Sometimes you might get a reaction to something that has happened, or specific abilities allow a bonus action. Casting your spell takes 1 action, and the spell only produces 1 bolt.

There is no justice structure for the bad people to be dealt with ... alive. Dead, they can be disposed of, in whatever manner the locals find appropriate. Alive, they will be the party's problem. Kinda hard to believe we would even talk about it really. "Heyyyyyyyyy ... we're just gonna slip past you and get that thing that doesn't belong to you and you can just get yourself on your way here now" as great as it sounds, kinda like Han Solo in the Detention Center, is not going to work.

I'm game to go to the order of wizardry.
Part of the problem is we need a plot train for a bit. It works best with PbP games. We haven't really clumped together or become a team/family.
Might I suggest the move, temporarily, from sandpit to railway for a little while? Maybe have the order grab us for a mission with a carrot and stick? Here's gold if you do what we want... and if you don't we'll report what one of our wizards just happened to see happen in a town a few days ago about a steamjack... crystal balls are sooo random.
The party makes good time on the road to Covis and in two short days, they arrive at the gates of this ancient city. In the last day or so the area on either side of the road has become more and more tamed. Small hamlets and little fishing villages are no more than a few hours apart, and more and more people are traveling the roads. You can easily find places to stay and eat, as well as small markets where you can buy the most common items.
Vicky slowly begins to lose some of the stiffness and creaking of a SteamJack left too long without maintenance. Nevitash makes many small repairs and is able to get or fabricate the parts he needs. Surprisingly Ol'Vicky is in pretty good shape, but her technology is a real Hodge-podge of old and fairly new.
With the gates of Corvis in sight, the party is finally getting to their destination. Most of the local talk has been about the upcoming festival. At the gate, a clerk and several guards question all entering, as well as collecting taxes and tolls. As you approach, the clerk asks, in a tired voice, your name, business, and extent of your stay in Corvis. He also asks about any goods the party might be carrying and then informs them it will be 1 farthing (CP) entry fee and 1 Shield (sp) for the LaborJack.
Also ... the post above, happened. GM said so. So with respect to the fact that a couple things have happened since, a little chronomancy re the TWO DAYS the group spent together isn't out of line either. In general, like when kids in elementary school run away from something bad they did, they do tend to put their heads together about getting the story str8. At the moment, there's this "as if" thing in the air: kinda hard to imagine that everyone traveled for 48 hours in absolute silence and not once did "heyyyyyyyyyyy, so we sure pissed some people off back there killing that Captain for this robot" ever came up.
I can easily railroad this part if you want...not a problem, but I wanted you to have a chance to plan if you wanted....this train will get you right into the actual adventure...but again I did not want to push too hard.

Nevitash thinks this is over something other then what happened with the town. So if we all have an enemy we should all stick together and figure out who it is.

Sorry...stupid cold!!! You do not have your weapons, only the wooden baton that you were given. You will get your weapons back, but they do not want you using deadly force against possible drunken revellers.
Will you allow any non-lethal items to be kept on our person? Or would we need to do a sleight of hand to hide them? She will try to keep her thieve's tools if possible but will make the roll to try to get them past detection if they're searched before they patrol.

I think absolutely PLEASE roll mine, and I generally like having the GM roll for the team: it's still a roll and it only leaves us waiting for actions, not the entire order of play.
