”Screech think author was not nice person. Use captives for labor, that not right. She must be duergar, and was raiding dwarfie tombs.” Screech thinks out loud, almost like he doesn’t have an inner voice!
”Me wonder, if maybe dwarfies have problems like in Osirion when dead are disturbed, or maybe like what happened in Lastwall?”

GM Farol |

You discuss the translation and its meaning, wondering if the duergars survived or not, as well as their slaves.
You leave their quarters into a long and wide corridor. It is lined with several sconces containing everburning torches, making this the most litten portion of the underground that you've been to.
To the east lies a large altar topped by a massive warhammer intricately carved out of stone. Ancient magic causes flames to flicker along the length of the warhammer, much like an everburning torch. From where you are you can see that altar contains carved symbols and phrases that could be read from closer distance. To the other side the corridor passes into natural caves where there is the path described in the journal.
To the south, there seems to be a large chamber.
Where to?

![]() |

Zenith looks to the stars, but noticeably sighs when they are not to be seen. I hope we don't have to sleep in here... Zenith thinks to themself.
"Sure, south."

![]() |

Rapier pointed to the ceiling, Don Jurri thrusts himself stridently forward.
"To the South, then!"

![]() |

”Seems as good a way as any!” agrees Screech.
”Always searching in the dark,
Spelunking ruins on a lark,
We delve into the pallid cave,
Hope we find a kicking rave!”

GM Farol |

Yeah head into the room, it is roughly empty, some time ago the floor was cleared from any debris and in the corner, there is a chest and next to it a pile of clothing and other personal items.
Don Jurri steps closer to investigate chest when...

...about to "miss completely", through sheer force of will (or perhaps dum luck?), Don Jurri minorly corrects his stroke at the last possible second!...

Harsk gets up, takes an elixir of life and pours it down his throat. +6 heal
Don Jurri with a great effort change the direction of his strike and takes down the giant beetle. Bones fall to the ground with big noise and the creature stops moving That hero point makes it a hit, and blue is down

Whirling on his heels - how does he balance back-footed on those long skinny poles that protrude groundward from his aged and once-fashionable men's carousing boots!? - our chivalric hero turns on the silver piece, managing to avoid the collapsing piles of beetle bones, and with his free hand, dusts his collar off with a gentle pat "I think you may be right!" nodding to Zenith "Hold on ol' chap - didn't mean to poop the party so soon!" he completes his spin here, and shifts his weight contrawise "You two:" addressing the foes he left moments ago - the remaining beetle and shieldless skeleton "Save me one more waltz!" and begins making his way back over to the momentarily abandoned melee!

Screech looks confused by Don Jurri. 'Longshanks must have gotten into bad keg of cider apples.' he thinks.
Knowing his quite fashionable rapier would not do much against the skeleton, he chooses to move up by Zenith and cast his "chuck a rock song". "Stupid skellie made of bone,

With his free hand, Don Jurri pokes a finger into his ear, partially blocking out the music "Mister Smee! - the incessant rhyming, droning mono-rythm, and high-pitched screeching are going to do me in, even as these beetles wont. I do hope you brought ear plugs!" his face contorted in pain, he leans the other side of his head against his shoulder, but soon discovers - to his utter horror! - that he is unable to dampen the sound with such a motion while also holding his rapier aloft...

From his hiding place, off-screen, "Let me look sir" taking a breath, wincing just a little, and scrounging desperately through his pockets, before finally "Turns out we left those at the mansion, sir, but perhaps I can come up with a solution once you are finished here..."
Unsure of the veracity of this claim, he clears his throat once more, and immediately dips back into his hiding place, off-screen...

GM Farol |

Zenith tumbles through the bug and strikes him with fist, from the other side Screech sends a large rock hitting the creature in a vital spot. The creature falls to the ground strikes with Ithuriel electric arc. Hit, crit and arc are enough to kill the last foe.
Bones fall to the ground motionless, when you look around you see that those four enemies supplied enough bones to cover almost the whole chamber. You catch a breath and take a look at the chest which you wanted to open before the hell broke loose. In it you find personal items from different cultures and ancestries, you believe that they could have belonged to slaves captured by duergars.
Lah and berries would allow you to heal in 2 hours (number pulled from thin air), would you heal in that room? Or move somewhere? Where would you go next?

Thanks!
Ithuriel trails behind Don Jurri, his staff, loudly thumping against the stone floor. It echoes among the chambers as he walks with the utmost confidence and not a care in the world seems to bother the angelic being.
