Yes, I've just noticed the link in my alias is wrong - I'll fix it in a minute.

And yes, I've just noticed it gives a penalty as having striked twice. Luckily, it doesn't alter the outcome of the second stack, I guess, but I'll have it in mind for the future. Now I think it's not as good as I thought when I first read it.

Last skeleton falling under his maul, Marcellus plants the head of the weapon on the ground and leans on it, panting.

"Well, that was exciting. I'd like a moment to rest, and maybe some healing, before we head to our next task. I need to fix this gauntlet here... " trailing off as he becomes engrossed in observing his gauntlet and trying to diagnose what went wrong when he used it to heal himself.

Could use some healing, I'm not sure what time it is or if we have a hour or whatever to get some more treat wounds actions in. If we have at least 10 minutes to rest I'll repair my invention

Related - I never realized that Forensic Medicine adds my level to the total amount healed with Battle Medicine or Treat Wounds; so totals less Chomski's healing, but back up +2 if TT patched you up.

Marcellus unbars the door, and can now feel a feeble strength push back against his "I'm not coming out until he is found!" the young voice of Eunice protests "Leave me be!" he pushes back on the door as if to re-bar it for the time being - still unseen and hiding in the workshop.

Then, a crashing sound is heard from the inside "You better not be breaking my vas..." CRASH-CHINCKLE!!! she whirls on Greyjay "Hurryup and DO something!"

Pursing her lips at the idea of "youthful exuberance", Tanaterra once again pulls her crowbar out of her backpack and hands it over to Greyjay. "Here, go help Marcellus. Don't want him opening up the wrong thing!", she jokes with a chuckle. "I don't think I've ever been so glad to lug a crowbar around with me for a day!"

She then raises her voice to shout inside, "Look, we're trained investigators. If you let us in, we can help you find what it is you're looking for...and then you probably won't have to fix a door afterwards, too!"

Seeing as he's an apprentice, Chomski is going to approach him using magic.

Using Prestidigitation, Chomski starts coloring parts of the door (door knob and window to start) bright blue for Eunice to notice and gain his attention.
"Eunice, you need to open the door son. We are here to help but need you to stop causing damage. You have our complete attention and we want to be able to listen to help find who you are looking for."

Going to use Guidance on my roll and, if he's able to see out the window, use Kola's Ambassador ability (one is status and other is circumstance).

"We're not here to hurt you, lad." Greyjay agrees with Chomski. "We're here to help everyone. It's our job." He looks at Marin meaningfully, silently asking her not to contradict him here.

After a beat, the rookie Edgewatch, in their surprising wisdom, opt not to continue forcing themselves into the workshop, substituting their words instead, and so, a small head, with curly locks and freckled cheeks, pokes out.

Eyebrows curled, the young boy waits to see the response of him finally showing himself, having clearly heard everyone, but not yet ready, it seems, to speak.

Marin defends herself! "I did no such thing! This little boy is full of ideas! Taking hostage my shop to raise a ruckus!" she looks like she has had just about enough!

"Yes, of course. Perhaps one or two question the complainants while the rest of us check the shop? I'll certainly go take a look."

I know splitting the party is usually BAD, but it does seem like a law enforcement thing to do, take statements while checking the property

Greyjay nods his agreement with Laz. "Let's hold off on any arrests for the time being. I'd like to hear more from both of them before we make any decisions."

He looks to the youth. "Who is your master?" He adds to Laz's questions.


The Apprentice's Lock In (Part Four)

"Master Kemeneles" as the boy speaks his name, everyone realizes they have not heard of or met this man "is a Great Wizard - I hope to be like him one day - we came to the city two weeks ago, and he told me to go get some, um..." he pulls a list out of his pocket, and reads down the 6d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 5, 6, 6) = 21 items on it - all spell components of some sort or another, then puts the list back in his pocket "...and I haven't seen him since"

His tone, momentarily calm, leaps quickly to anger again here - he points to Marin Porphyry "...and SHE and him are Sworn Enemies! I know she kidnapped him or killed him or worse!"

While Laz and Greyjay engage with the two noise complaint / suspects? - Marcellus and Chomski check out the shop, while Tanaterra...

Tanaterra looks up at both of the mages. "Unless anyone has any strenuous objections, I'm going to have a look around and see if I can find out what has happened here." She looks to Eunice. "I promise, I will not touch anything without asking you first - I know better than to randomly poke at unknown magic."

She waits all of two seconds for a reply before striding into the shop, murmuring in Gnomish to Chomski, "Taylir eyn sur'haai dayn par vutyc euras, ni dein't copaanir cuyir jehavey."

Gnomish:
"Keep an eye out for magical auras, I don't want to be surprised."

TT will begin a fairly thorough investigation of the shop. Pertinent skills include Perception, Arcana, and Thievery; pertinent feats include That's Odd, Quick Identification, and Glean Contents.

Marcellus follows the gnomes into the shop and looks around.


As the Agents of Edgewatch brashly presume to scour the insides of Marin Porphyry's shop, she cuts in front of them and protests "I know my rights, officers, and while I did summon thee for assistance with a juvenile trespasser broken into my shop - against whom I decline to press charges! - I do not equate my thanks in resolving the matter with tacit permission to be treated like a common criminal!" she barely catches her breath here before continuing "If you'd like to bandy through my workshop, I will request to see the warrant!" utterly flustered, she continues "And if I am a prime suspect in a crime of which you have yet to name, I insist upon my due process!"

What the wizard lacks for in physical size, she makes up for in civic knowledge and reasoned insistence.

With Eunice in their custody, our heroes continue to make sense of what is "right" and what is "wrong" in this situation.
