GM Silbeg |
you have time between encounters, so good to go.
The walls of this grand entry chamber are carved with faded images, from tentacled monsters and ritual ceremonies to flying wagons and other strange machines. Beyond the chamber is a grand library filled with books and beautiful statuary.
Iarann notices that the glass statue on the far side of the ossuary has started moving in a very threatening way!

Iarann closes to the top of the steps, turns around and urges the party with him. "IT'S FREAKING GLASS!"

The glass statue moves forward towards Iarann. It then creates waves of scintillating luminosity that cast bright light in a 60-foot emanation! Dim light for another 60'

Just remembered, you all have +2 on your will saves for that one. Checking to see if this changes anything. And it does! Iarann is not Dazzled!
Dr Talos |
Talos cranes his neck, using the flash of light and a nanite surge to suddenly twist his frozen face into a smile.
Dread Marshal Stance, Nanites DC 24: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 18 + 2 = 39 => Stance is a 20' aura.
Critical Success Your marshal's aura increases to a 20-foot emanation, and it grants you and allies a status bonus to damage rolls equal to the number of weapon damage dice of the unarmed attack or weapon you are wielding that has the most weapon damage dice. When you or an ally in the aura critically hits an enemy with a Strike, that enemy is frightened 1.
Success As critical success, but your aura's size doesn't increase.
Failure You fail to enter the stance.
Critical Failure You fail to enter the stance and can't take this action again for 1 minute.
He moves around and up the stairs, hoping to Leap down next round into a flank, taking advantage of the low gravity to land on his feet. I am not sure how high the ledges in here are. If Talos would take damage (and thus land prone), he would not do this. In such a case he would move next to Iarann, giving himself options for the next round without placing himself next to the creature for a full attack.
Jaqard Tahti |
Jaqard drops into his crouching tiger stance and moves toward the scintillating light, spots before his eyes as he moves.
Tiger stance ◈, Stride x2. Jaqard's movement will provoke if Glass Joe has such a reaction.

Bair blinks his eyes a few times, gets pissed off, draws his chain weapon cause glass ain’t got no blood and strides up to get closer to the action.

Action 3: Strike
The incredibly swift half-elf has a burst of speed to put the others to shame. She moves beyond the statue, placing herself such that Bair and Iarann can take advantage of the distraction.
Brynn has a 45 speed (Nimble Elf, Fleet, Longstrider). This movement would provoke an AoO
She makes a point to be a threat, stabbing with her spear!

GM Silbeg |
Dr. Talos moves up and around, reasonably sure that the 5' drop is safe. Jaqard is ready to fight, as is Bair.
There was plenty of time to get a focus point back.
Brynn moves around, to stab at the glass woman. However, her spear barely scratches the clear glass surface.

Iarann does hit the thing, but it seems his axe does not hurt it as nearly as much as he would have hoped. Tiny cracks do form on the statue, but they don't seem to impair it, much.

**HOUSE GM ANNOUNCEMENT**
”That’s it, Pathfinders!” Eando Kline shouts over the din. ”The area is almost secure!”
Table GMs, this is your 8-hour warning before we move to Part 2.
GM Silbeg |
Just dawned on me... when Jaqard rolled that 15, it was a critical miss, and as such, would have triggered a fireball going off from a crystal in the eye of the golem. That, in the end, would have had no real net effect, though. 6d6 of fire damage to everyone, with safes, and it would have healed 2d6. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Talos hits twice, and it still stands
Then Brynn hits three times, and it goes down!
You then get the chance to investigate the carvings and books.
The centerpiece carvings depict the Eternity Arch, which you have already seen. Nearby imagery depicts sleeping or perhaps dead bodies being placed into a deep trench. The lowest levels of bodies in these pits are skeletons.
Arcana, Occultism, or Society check
You see a variety of other carvings:
- You see a dragon rising up out of a coffin.
- a group of people wearing strange attire and carrying futuristic firearms, led by a slender four-armed man with an elongated cranium
- an underground hedge maze connecting to the ruins
- An image of what appears to be Bain, Dr, Talos, and Iarann all fighting off strange doglike monsters
- a crowd of people bowing before the Eternity Arch.
Much of the literature in this library has been damaged by time, cold temperatures, and animals.
Society, Arcana, Nature, Occultism, Religion, or Perception
Until you succeed at these checks, we don't have a success!!
Dr Talos |
Talos is excited by the carving of himself. He taps it. I look exactly like a real doctor. Note how the dapper mustaches are perfectly curved.
See here. This blurry shape must be Brynn, mid-transformation. And there, note the pup flying away from Bair as he follows through on the backswing. Clearly this is Iarann swearing at someone — but who? And there is Jaquard, looking to Kline in the distance, seeking approval… and the person with the halo is clearly Nina.
Can't make the first set, set but can perceive for the second.

GM Silbeg |
Dr Talos learns that the remnants of the information in the library mostly detail rituals and artifacts dealing with time manipulation.
Need a success on the first check still!
GM Silbeg |
Nina's Occultism (T): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Nina notices subtle differences in the figures before and after they pass through the gateway, indicating that the journey changes the traveler, or the traveler's spirit or mind passes through the gate while the body is left behind.

With the lower levels of the ruins secure, Venture-Captain Armeline Jirneau calls the Pathfinders together once again. “Excellent work, Pathfinders! The area’s secure and the path to the upper levels is now clear. What’s more, we have news.” she says, gesturing at the glowing arch. “We’ve discovered that this potent artifact is called the Eternity Arch. It’s resonating with some sort of magical focus nearby, and this resonance is what’s causing the Maze of the Open Road to malfunction. Using this connection, we determined that the focus is somewhere above us, higher in the ruins. We must find the focus and sever its connection to the arch.”
“It’s cold in the upper levels. We’re distributing warm clothing now. Remember, we don’t know what the focus is, so leave no stone unturned. Be safe and stay in touch. Let’s move, Pathfinders!”

You are sent up to some chambers in the rock. These chambers are part of the residential wing of the ruins, which functioned as communal living spaces. The walls on the east side of this area are partially collapsed, revealing ice tunnels that wind off into the distance. These ice tunnels are difficult terrain and uneven ground.
See slide #6 for the map.
