Anyone have better than a +8 theivery? If not, Grog will try to open the foot locker... quietly... If someone has better, go for it. Going ahead and throwing the roll out to help move things along. :)
theivery: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
What a shock! Hero point!
theivery: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

No thievery here
GM Farol
Salaish inspire you to act quietly, she is basically murmuring to not be heard herself.
You enter the hut and Grog keeps his eye on the prize, he takes his picks and...
Is stopped by Grandel, who was cool-headed enough to search it for traps. Thanks Grandel for search exploration activity ;) When you see a lock you do not run towards it with picks ;) This is what lvl 1 Pathfinders do, they don't get to lvl 2 ;)
You begin to check the trap, it seems to require a skilled thief or an unparalleled mage. Disable device Thievery DC20 - you roll until you get a success or a critical failure (which triggers the trap) ;). Or Dispel Magic (counteract DC18)
The lock on the chest looks simple but it does require some skills. Three successful thievery checks DC20. Critical failure breaks the locks, which require you to have spares or to fix them with a repair kit, but it all takes time.
So Grog keep on your HP for now, you first need to handle the trap ;)

Grog looks at the chest with contempt. "Meh, Grog should not be surprised. Looks tough. Grog not that good. Want me try it anyway? Or best leave it?"
Heh. Yeah. Had a busy day yesterday.. wasn't paying as close attention as I should have there. Thanks for the save!

@GM Farol: How big is the footlocker? As in, could we carry it out of here in a mad dash if we decided to be crazy?
"Uh, we need to know the situation outside before you start." Salaish tiptoes to the door, slowly opens it a teeny crack, and peeks out to assess the situation.
Stealth +7, Perception +8: Does she see any Apsis? What are they doing? Does it look like they're coming our way anytime soon?
GM Farol
You look at the footlocker, it is a standard-size box sold in popular ratfolk-owned store Ykea. It is not big, 2-3 ft long, 1ft high. You check the box and believe that only lock is trapped, and that raising of the footlocker does not trigger the trap.
Salaish peaks outside
You would expect rolls here right?
And see that Aspis Delegates still walk around the camp, helping to reset the camp, take care of the wounded etc. One guard is still sitting not that far taking a close eye on anyone getting near the huts.
What do you do?

While the others watch outside, Argoni mixes together another tonic and drinks it. He then tries his hand at disabling the trap and unlocking the chest before the tonic expires.

Tiger stands near the door with Salaish, ready to pounce on anyone who enters.
GM Farol
Tiger stands on the look-out while Argoni drinks his mutagen, his finger grows longer and he becomes more agile. Although a wave of excruciating pain crosses his body.
He quickly disables the trap and then in matter of seconds he opens the lock.
Inside the locker, you find a few routine ledgers and maps of the Mindspin Mountains
Perception, Argoni: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
As Argoni takes out the information he notices that something is off there, the locker should be deeper! With the use of his knife, he finds double bottom in the chest, and hidden inside is Raike's journal. Check the slides for Raike's journal

As Tiger and Salaish keep an eye on the door, she murmurs up to him: "Getting out of here unseen is going to be tricky. But I do have one spell that could get that guard to walk away for a bit."
@GM Farol: Is the guard within 30' of Salaish? I think it may be about time for her to cast her last 2nd level spell: Charitable Urge.

"Okay! I've got this. Just gotta wait until the conditions are right." Salaish peeks out the door to gauge when no one seems to be looking this way, but there is someone within 30 feet of the guard in a direction that would have the guard turn their back to the hut when he's facing that person. As soon as she sees this favorable condition, she casts Deja Vu, followed immediately by Charitable Urge. As soon as the guard begins to walk away, she whispers: "Okay! Let's go!" She slips out the door to sneak away.

Salaish begins to cast, the guard stands there with his back towards you, and as the bard chants magic, human begin to shake his head and then looks around. He spots passing by Hogboglin and walks towards him
"Hey, I've got something from you"[b] and he passes him his sword, hobgoblin baffled by that behavior begins to walk away with that odd gift when the guard begins o chase him [b]"Take that dagger as well"
You all sneak out through the entrance and move away from those huts. It seemed to work.
You go back to your huts just to find Greeleep waiting for you there. I shall move you to the final scene as I think you covered all of the leads.
The trade talks reconvene shortly after sunrise. As before, Raike arrives with her fellow Aspis bodyguards ahead of the scheduled meeting time. Morgroar, Drussem, and other hobgoblin security forces spread out throughout the meeting hall and await the Lieutenant’s commands.
As before, the hobgoblin soldiers quietly usher you and the remaining Aspis agents into the meeting hall. Eloqi turns to the party’s prolocutors and directs them to speak their piece. This time first goes Salaish.
This is the time for you to present the case, feel free to RP what you present, speaking what you found and what does it mean.

Stepping forward smartly, Salaish stands at attention and begins: "Thank you, Lieutenant Eloqi. Yesterday's attack seemed unusual to us, so we did some investigating. Just before our last meeting, Ms. Raike spilled a liquid near us. Argoni here saved a bit of it and, after the fight, he determined that it was an enhanced pheromone that attracts and arouses male bulettes, making them aggressive. Next, we spoke to Oltug at the kitchen, because we had heard earlier in the day that he suspected some items had been stolen. He told us that he had reported some missing Hunting venom poison to Morgroar, but Morgroar took no action to address the apparent theft. This reminded us that Tiger saw Raike handing a piece of red-tinted vellum to Master Sergeant Morgroar, which the he tucked behind his bandolier, as well as a small, leather-bound book bearing a serpent motif.
After that, we were suspicious, so we decided to investigate the Apsis Consortium's huts. We discovered a set of tunnels under the huts, specifically the ones assigned to Greeleep and Ms. Raike. In the tunnels is an alchemist's lab, where we found the Hunting venom poison, as well as some vats of chemicals labeled in hobgoblin script and some of that enhanced pheromone that Ms. Raike poured outside this tent yesterday. Also down there was Greeleep, who you may have seen with the Apsis group earlier. He told us that Ms. Raike forced him to join them after hurting most of his clan, because she wanted to use the bulettes he raises to execute her plan. He agreed to help us in exchange for protection.
In Ms. Raike's hut, we found her journal. It describes what she did to Greeleep's clan. In other places it refers to a 'contact in Oprak', using Greeleep's bulette-controlling charm to achieve her goals, and bragging about how her 'planned display' will impress all of you, who she refers to as 'those simple brutes'. If you'd like to see the passages, I've marked them." At this point she hands the journal to Lieutenant Eloqi.
"Lieutenant Eloqi, whether or not you choose to ally with the Pathfinder Society, we hope this information helps you decide whether or not the Apsis Consortium can be allies worthy of your trust. After all, good hobgoblin soldiers died just so Ms. Raike could have her little display of strength. How many more hobgoblins will die so they can get their way? What if they decide they'd rather change the terms of your agreement to skew in their favor?
The Pathfinder Society adamantly refuses to endanger the lives of its allies. Your people will be safe if you choose to work with us. If you choose not to, we will respect your choice and allow you to go your own way without blame or threat. We won't break your trust. Thank you for your time."

Wow! Well done!!
GM Farol
Nicely done Salaish!
Salaish present your case, after the first allegations Raike raises to her feet yelling
"Lies! These are all lies said by those cowards! I was carrying a drink!" she is asked to be silent and let Salaish speak.
Eloqi comments "I do hope Pathfinders have solid proofs to back those claims."
Salaish continues describing the pheromones, theft from the kitchen and Margroar.
Raike stands up again and says "I can't drag it longer, I admit there was a foul play here. It was Morgroar, he began the plot to overthrow you. I took no part in this"
Eloqi looks at Margroar "Do you have anything to say?"
Margroar says "She gave me a ciphered letter but I couldn't understand it. I would not plan an attack on our people! I stood arm in arm during that attack! And the kitchen is Oltug responsibility, we have more important things than chasing every spoon and fork."
Eloqi let Salaish to continue, when you spoke of Greeleep and the kobold enters.
Raike throws again
"Greeleep was my friend and he was a halfling, if that bloody kobold killed him. It must have been him who did all this! I wonder if he was not planted by Pathfinders!"
And then Eloqi looks at the diary and charms
"I did remember seeing those charms myself. I must say it does not look good for you." says Eloqi once again and then she reads the diary.
Eloqi turns towards Raike "Be assured that Hobgoblins will not do any business with Aspis Consortium. And that is because of you. I give you 4 hours to leave, then I will send my scouts after you."
Raike turns red on her face and she storms out of the Mess Hall "You will pay for that Pathfinders! Our paths will cross! And I will get my revenge!"
Eloqi nods their head "What has happened was terrible, but I am glad to find solid allies to aid us. We will sign an exclusive trade deal with Pathfinders. You should join us today to commemorate our fallen and celebrate the signing of the agreement"
And that would conclude this story.

Just checking if Greeleep would be willing to share any formulas.
