Argoni recognizes the creatures as Bulettes, powerful creatures that can burrow and jump really far. They can jump and strike at their prey. Very often they have a favorite type of prey, whom they eat really eagerly, and most often those are halflings.
He finds an opening for his attack and sends a well placed arrow. Green -11. @Argoni - shortbows are not propulsive so you don't get -1 from your 8 STR, unless I am missing something.
Grog moves next to fallen Grandel and heals her, using favors of his deity. Then he swings with his pick and hits the creature. Green -12

"Eww! Gross! Well, let's keep an eye on them, if we can. And sleep in shifts, too, just in case. So, to recap what we know so far: Argoni said there was a weird smell coming from the halfling's hut. That may provide some clues. Tiger, you said you saw Raike handing some stuff to Master Sergeant Morgroar. And Grandel heard the cook, Oltug, claim that Morgroar stole alchemical supplies from the kitchen. Hmm..." She pauses to think a moment.
"OK! I can talk to Oltug about the kitchen theft. I mean, maybe they feel like they can't report that for some reason, but they ought to be able to, you know? So maybe I can find out why that hasn't been properly reported, or what happened if it has. And if anyone asks why I'm asking questions, I can say that it seems weird that those creatures attacked us like that. Like, it's unusual behavior for that species and we're trying to find out what's causing it. That sounds legit, right?"
Argoni Slate
|
Argoni considers the various points and nods. "We need to find out from Oltug what was stolen. Maybe Morgroar was paid to take the items, and used them in an alchemical recipe. That's what could be smelling from Greeleep's hut. If he use a recipe to create these pheromones, it would explain all the activity."
"I could try to sneak into Greeleep's hut too and see what is making the smell. If it's alchemical, I should be able to recognize it, especially if I know what I'm looking for."

Sarge listens to Argoni and nods "Keep it, for now, the more evidence you gather the more compelling your case will be. Keep it to yourself for now."
