Yeah I think this was a necessity because of how many items, not just weapons, have battery charges, such as flashlights and jump jets.
And if you have been paying for recharging, you can get those creds back. I can document on your chronicles if anyone needs.

Is it possible to retrain level 1 and level 2 choices once your character is third level with the Mnemonic Editor? The text just does not seem to be clear or at least it is not clear to me. :)

At level three it would be the level 2 and level 3 choices you can undo.
So if you want to undo level 1 choices, best do it before level 3. Of course you can rework your level 1 character for free before starting level 2.

Are you sure about that? I have heard a lot of disagreement about this point and no official clarification either way.

![]() |

I just base that on the reading of the text. It lets you redo the last two levels you have increased. If you are level 3, your last two level increases are levels 2 and 3.
That said, it is just a mcguffin to let you rework something that you would like to change in hindsight. So I'd not get too worried about it. By the time you are level 10, it would be big, but at level 3.
So while, were I a VC (which I am not) I'd suggest it only works for your level two/three advances.
However on a more reasonable "We are all here to have fun, and there is a reasonable understanding that level one can be redone, and the mcguffin effectively takes you back to level 1, so there is an argument that can be made for reworking level one as well." I'd suggest just doing it.

If you want to apply the editor at the end of this scenario I would be comfortable documenting it on your chronicle sheet, because the way I see it you don't level up until the GM gives you your chronicle sheet and it is something that should be documented on a chronicle anyways.

Thanks for the offer. My character will not level up after this adventure anyways so there is no rush. I am really looking forward to what might happen in the upcoming magic book coming out latter this month. If there is a substantial archetype or school specialisation for evocation and it is adopted into society play then I might decide to use the editor then. Also relevant is what additional spells are released and approved for SFS. The spell list is pretty thin so far so any additional good spells (especially 2nd level spells) would be handy. :)

I'm kind of curious what your long term plan was with this character, multi-classing technomancer and mystic. I don't think Starfinder has anything like the Mystic Theurge, does it?

![]() |

My long term plan was simply to use the Mnemonic Editor before he reached level 4 to retrain his level in Mystic (which he picked up at level 2) to Technomancer. This way he would not be behind the curve in terms of the acquisition of 2nd level spells. However if there is a good reason to do some retraining earlier (say a great archetype or school speciality) then I will move up my plans.
My rationale is that a character needs twelve solid combat rounds per adventure to be effective. Struggling to hit with a low damage weapon or cantrip does not count as an effective round in my mind. This is difficult to do at low levels with a straight up Technomancer. :)

I'm actually going on vacation for about a week. I'm leaving tomorrow. Sorry, its been hectic and hard to get regular posts in. I should still be able to post (its not like I'm going somewhere off the grid), but maybe only once a day.

I am going into the hospital tomorrow for a foot surgery. It's been moved around a few times, and unexpectedly moved up to tomorrow because they had an opening. Outpatient, so I expect to be online again sometime this weekend, depending on how groggy I am recovering from the anesthetic and medicine.
If things go sideways, feel free to bot me. The usual: dazing or fatiguing enemies, nonlethal damage, and healing spells. If it looks really tough, I do have shield other if someone looks like they're getting close to taking HP damage (doesn't help w/ stamina damage).

Good luck with your operation. :)

Thanks! Recovery seems to be going well. :)

Maybe even 110%. :)

@GM Badblood - Is is possible to cross over the black squares on the map which appear to be land masses? I am assuming that a person would need to fly or swim across the river in the middle of the map.

Many thanks for running the game Badblood. Nice to see a close-out to the whole Datch season.
And thanks to my fellow players for putting up with a solider who doens't do much damage.

After returning to the Starfinder lodge, Rattus leaves and tries to make a deal with a vesk.
dayjob
Profession (smuggler): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
The vesk grabs his stomach and laughs.
"Ysoki! If only you hadn't had to dump that shipment of dream snuff..."

Thanks for running GM Badblood. It was a fun ride. :)

Thanks for running. I don't have access to slides at work so I can't check that I included my day job roll, so just in case ...
Profession (Smuggler): 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 4 = 18
@Rattus - you could quickly cover the cost of a tool kit for smuggling.

I'm checking off my Cultivating the Faith boon instead of making a dayjob check with my downtime.

Your chronicles are in this Drive folder. Let me know if there is anything that needs to be changed.

![]() |

Of course! Just to let everyone know, I'll be closing this out on Wednesday so let me know if you need any changes to the chronicles. Thanks!

I'm running this for the next game day :)

Well, on mine, you put a tick against agreeing to delay giving Abadarcorp the passwords - which we didn't but, I can fix that myself so no need to re-issue. Just thought I'd better point that out.
Thanks for a great game. I was wanting to put my DJ kiirinta through it to see what would happen.
